Hello!
I’ve been following this thread for the past one year and it helped me greatly when processing my PR. Please I need your advice/input on the following issue:
My sister gained admission to Centennial college for Biotechnology fast track diploma (one year). It’s an Ontario college diploma. Her first degree is in Applied biology and biotechnology with a second class upper. She has been out of school for two years and has not worked in her field. She has two years work experience as a social worker with an NGO.
1) My concern is how she can show career progression to the visa officer in her application. 2) I also advised her to switch to the two years biotechnology course , does she need to show POF for 2 years in her visa application? 3) Our parents will sponsor her for this program , do they need to transfer the money for living expenses and tuition to her account for the purpose of visa application?
I’d appreciate any forthright answers because I truly desire for her application to succeed. She has worked really hard for this.
Thank you all |

You can apply for vistiors visa for her under family reunification (citing that she's your fiance) You'd also have to fill an authorization to travel orm which would be notarized by a lawyer and submit alongside the application. In your invitation letter, make sure you clearly state and convince the visa officer beyond all reasonable doubt that she will return back to her country after the visit. Because the major reason she'd be denied a visitors visa is based on family ties in Canada (YOU) unitedCA: Hello guys,
I need some advice on what to do.
I came back to Nigeria last year, December, to really spend time with family and see my fiancé as well. Fast forward this year, my fiancé and I did our traditional marriage and shortly after she left for US for a 4-month summer work program. I will soon be travelling back to Canada ( I'm a PR) and I really need my fiancé/wife ( I don't think Canada recognizes a couple that just did traditional marriage as husband and wife) to join me in Canada.
I am really looking for legal options I can explore for her to come over to Canada from US, before the expiration of her work permit visa. I don't know if a visitors' visa is a sure-fire way to bring her over or nah. I'm not too sure again, how to make this happen, like, make a strong case why I need my wife/fiancé here with me in Canada or if the application for a visitors' visa will even succeed. I don't want to start an application that will lead to rejection.
Thanks. P.S. I'm also aware of the Canada-US border restrictions. She'd definitely be coming over when those restrictions are relaxed in the coming months, hopefully! |

Have they paid you or not? Pat80: I invested with agropartnership in July 2020 and the investment matured April 15, 2021. I requested for a withdrawal of my matured investment, I was told paystack had a downtime which affected payment and it was going to be rectified. 48 hours later I am still unable to get my money. Infact they stopped picking my calls and responding to my message. I just feel this is a way to save others from investing with this company. This may just be a life saver. I hope to get my money at the end of the day. |

Married, not physically present means that you married by proxy I.e over the internet or one person was not present during the wedding ceremony. And as far as I know, IRCC does not recognize marriage by proxy. Anu2002: Does selecting "married Not Physically present" affect your student visa application if you are separated? |

Travel › Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by OyiBeeBee: 1:40pm On May 05, 2021 |
I assume you are a PR and your husband is applying to visit you. Since he's applying as an immediate family member, he doesn't need an authorization letter so don't expect any. However this MAY trigger the Kenya VO to process your application faster. Mine took about 3 months and I sent prioritization mail every two to four weeks. Edilanco: Hi everyone, has anyone heard back from Kenya visa office. My husband sent an email to prioritize his application since April 16th no response yet. Did anyone get any response since April ? |

Please what travel /health insurance coverage is advisable for TRV to Canada? Thank you Aro21: I would like to share my experience travelling to Canada with all the new restrictions.
It might help someone cause I learnt one or two things from this forum.
Please note I had my visiting visa since 2019 but never used it.
Firstly I have a family member so I'm be eligible to travel at this time, a family member is either immediate or extended. immediate is a parent, spouse etc. Extended is a sibling, grand child etc ( please refer to the website for further clarifications)
For immediate family members you don't need a statutory form or an authorisation letter but you do for an extended family.
I came in as an extended family member and this was my process
Step 1: Get your family member and yourself to both fill the Application for authorization and statutory declaration
this form is for family member in Canada older than 18 years old there is a different one for a minor. ( check website)
Step 2: Family member goes to a notary/Lawyer to get form signed and pay a fee
Step 3: Email form and other details to IRCC
Step 4: Buy your ticket and prepare to travel
Step 5: Call the Government approved numbers to book a hotel for quarantine
call can only be 48 hrs to departure flight. For this step I paid $1154 which includes hotel, breakfast lunch and dinner for the 3 days and two covid tests one at the airport on arrival and one on day 10 of quarantine). Print your hotel confirmation.
Step. 6: Download the arrive can app and fill in your details, flight, hotel, where you would quaint for the remaining 11 days if your first covid test comes out negative. Print your arrivecan receipt.
Step 7: Do the first covid test in Nigeria before your flight
Step 8: book for the second covid test to be done at the airport in Canada to avoid queues( my advise). you can book on the switch health.ca ( print your appointment) Step 8: arrive on the day of your flight early because all the things above would be scanned by your airline and sent for approval( not sure who they sent it to. I flew Lufthansa), you have to wait for the approval before you are allowed to board your flight.
Step 9: Get on your flight and arrive Canada( I flew to Toronto, only four international airports are opened at this time)
Step 10: I did immigration twice because they really wanted to confirm I had family and they asked for all the above things mentioned too.
Step 10: grab your bags
Step 11: Do your second covid test at the exit of the airport
Step. 12: Use an airport taxi/shuttle to get to your hotel. All the hotels are around the airport.
Step 13: Start quarantine and wait for your covid test. I came in on a Saturday so didn't get my result till Monday, if you get a negative result earlier you are allowed to check out and go and continue your 14 days quarantine at your preferred location. I stayed in the hotel for 3 nights, they delivered breakfast, lunch and dinner but they were all oyinbo food so I struggled with that.
Step 14: Checked out on my last day and proceeded to my place of quarantine using an uber.
Step. 15: You have to report on the arrive can for the 14 days so they know if you developed any symptoms or not( quite straight forward)
Step 16: Do your third covid test on day 10, they provide a covid kit at the airport and its picked up at your location. all the instructions are in the kit.
I finished my. quarantine few days ago.
I hope someone finds this overwhelming process helpful. |

Hi. Pls which visa office processed her application? Scroll upwards to get the answer to your question. Someone posted the link to a thread. Onedimple: Here is an update on the above:
My sister got a letter in her IRCC account last week requesting for our birth certificates with both parents name indicated. The following day she got another one asking her to apply for the Authorization for Travel exemption and she submitted all yesterday. And this morning she got passport request letter and her authorization for travel exemption approval. Thanks everyone.
Please does anyone have an updated info on how to submit passports at VFS Lagos? |

It seems your application has exceeded the 12 month processing time. You can do one (or all) of three things : 1) Order GCMS notes to see the status of your application. 2) Raise a webform to Accra or send them an email directly enquiring about the status of your application. Webform: https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp#q1 Email : accraimmigration@international.gc.ca 3) Get your Canadian spouse to contact her MP to enquire about the status of your application. This is purportedly the surest and fastest way to get a response. Onyeka8o: Good day. Yes my wife is a Canadian, she applied under Spousal sponsorship. Nov 2019 she received a letter saying We are pleased to inform that you have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. Biometric on October 2019. Nov 2019. This message is being sent to confirm that the Application for Permanent Residence for your relative(s) has been forwarded to the visa office in Accra for further processing. Feb 2020. I went for medical examination instructions. Up till now no updates. Pls help a brother |

Hello poster, Please I'm about to submit my spousal sponsorship application and in the same predicament as you. I was initially denied a visiting visa. Were you successful in your application and do you have any tips? Beauideal: Good day everyone. I just got married to my husband who is a Canadian and he his planning to sponsor me to Canada as his wife (spousal sponsorship). I just want to know if anyone had a successful application and how long exactly before cic gave them visa? Did anyone had to wait for a year? And also I would like to know what documents were required exactly. I have done change of name and looking forward to getting a new international passport. And also I've been denied visiting him before we got married. I will like to know if I can apply for visit while the application for spousal sponsorship is ongoing? |
