Historically Democrats were the party of slavery, segregation, kkk, Jim Crow laws in the South, and in the especially North East the party of immigrants, big unions (google Tammany Hall), the poor and the working class. The Republican Party was founded shortly before the Civil War as the party of Anti Slavery. It morphed into the party overwhelmingly of the educated Ivy League WASPs (White Anglo Saxon Protestants), the Industrialists. From which the term Fat Cat Republican was born. The poor Irish, Italians, Polish Catholics were overwhelmingly Democrats.
The Republicans also pushed and wrote most of the legislation to end segregation and discrimination. The big legislation being signed by Democrat LBJ in the 60's. It is very easy to find all of this online, including the voting records of each party historically.

I would agree that most of the people with multiple university degrees, especially on the coasts today are Democrats. Most working class whites, including union workers, are Republicans today. When Clinton was president the Dems had about a 17 point advantage with these people and now the Republicans have about a 20 point advantage. BTW virtually nobody in the USA is illiterate.

Sweden has had a large influx if immigrants/refugees from Syria, Irag, Turkey, Iran, Somalia, the Muslim countries.
They have native Finnish people, Poles, Slavs from what was Yugoslavia.

The largest historic immigrant groups that make up Brazil are Portugal, Italy, Germany, and a decent amount of Middle East Christians,

Out of all the advanced countries in the world the US has the most different was to migrate legally into the US.

I am guessing that the only explanations why the US immigration system seems broken is because the laws already in place has been broken so many times and even the law makers have encouraged it to continue that way out of greed and cheap labor.

8 times USA lawmakers have granted amnesty to groups of illegals since 1986. Millions of people. There is nowhere near enough detentions centers beds to house illegals caught by border security. Many are just released with a court summons to appear at X date for court. They never show up. And you also have people that fly in with a travel visa, student visa, etc that just don't go back. Although people from all over the world fly into Panama, Columbia, then trek north with smugglers to the border, a decent portion abuse the visa process.

Pilot training on new aircrafts is critical. The Lion Air 737 had faulty air speed indications of multiple flights prior to the crash but the pilots knew what to do it seems. Changing the software to increase or limit what to plane can do on autopilot make sense, what ever that is. Years ago there was a change with the 737 300 to 400. A 737 experienced a blown engine or it caught fire, pilots put the fire out and transferred the fuel to the other engine. However they made a mistake, they transferred the fuel to the non working engine. In the older model the transfer process is opposite the newer model and they were unaware of this. So the plane crashed. There is almost always pilot error in these accidents.

Good. USA will respond the same and needs to adjust their visa waiver program, long overdue.

Some of these guys go to some sort of High School Academy first. The college team I follow has 2 African players, one from
Mali and 1 from Congo. One went to RISE Centre Academy (Ontario, Canada), the other went to 22 Feet Academy (S.C.) High School.
From there they were recruited and signed to the university. Maybe google American/Canadian high school basketball academies, make
a list, then call or email them.

Still, if a Cuban citizen makes it to American embassy, he/she can ask for asylum, the thing is Cubans in their country are not allowed to approach to the American embassy by Cuban police, there is a Nigerian spouse who can walk in and ask for asylum for both, the foreign spouse is entitled to asylum based on being married to a Cuban. The thing is the Cuban shouldn't get out to any other country, it should be asking for USA asylum from Cuba, the foreign spouse and joint kids are accepted as the Cuban family.

Coast Guard knows the water based smuggling routes pretty well. The Florida coast is pretty well guarded.

Obama administration ended the Cuban wet foot dry foot policy. For decades if a Cuban could make it to the USA on foot they were given asylum. That policy no longer exists. I believe also Obama admin ended the Cuban Doctor defection program. Cuban Doctors working abroad could walk into any US Embassy and defect. Does the Cuban government allow outsiders to move there? Can't imagine any work there. The government recently has allowed for some Cubans to be self employed, cuentapropistas’. Most get a government paycheck, $30-$40 a month USA.
