you have a point, i will not use any hand sanitizer locally made, unless i make them myself. As you know, there are different kind of hand sanitizers, alcohol based and alcohol free hand sanitizers. Since alcohol kill the virus, when buying or making the hand sanitizer, just ensure you get the one with high percentage of alcohol from 60 percent and you are good to go.

Hello guys!

My name is Titus Bulum Maiva, a serving corps member (Batch B1 2019) in Offa, Kwara State.

Due to the lockdown situation in this part of the state (Offa, Kwara State), and how the disastrous Covid-19 Virus is complicating issues in the country, I thought of a means of sanitizing the hands in public places with high level of safety.

Since the lockdown will one day be relaxed for people to visit Banks, Markets, and move around in public places, there is a need for sanitizing the hands to ensure total safety even when the nose and mouth are covered using the popular medicated mask.

The set up I designed is based on using alcohol based sanitizer, containing Ethanol/2-Propanol, Glycerol, Aloevera and clean distilled water, with volume percentages according to WHO standard. The sanitizer is very effective in killing all enveloped viruses, including the raging Corona Virus.

No part of the setup is allowed to be touched with the hands (even when in gloves), the only part to be touched is a foot pad that opens and closes a valve regulating the flow of sanitizer liquid. To prevent contaminating the foot pad, drops of sanitizer will continually fall on it at a slower rate to kill any virus on it.

The setup is very easy to fabricate, having simple/common materials and straight forward connections.

I am planning to fabricate it as a kind of personal project for public places like market entrances, ATM joints, worship center entrances, Schools, hostels, house compounds, streets in communities and for my fellow corps members during CDS meetings.

Not only for Corona Virus issues, but also for safety against any form of disease and to exercise good hygienic behaviors.

Room is opened for recommendations, corrections, additional ideas and questions.

This your post is very lame. Death is recorded everyday over coronavirus every day in places you are calling abroad,also people are recovering to both abroad and Nigeria.

Whatay have cause his death is because he is an elder. 80years. While Nigeria healthcare system need upgrading,that is not what killed him.

The main reason why we don't have as many cases is simple....the average Nigerian does not have the disposable income to travel like the average European or American.

For example, it is common for an average American pensioner, to save money and go on a cruise around the world. Which average Nigerian pensioner can do that?

An average American cashier can go abroad for foreign holidays, which average Nigerian cashier go do that?

Average American and European student can go for student exchange with other foreign universites. Which average Nigerian student can do that (when I was in university, one student organization came and told us they were doing student exchange. We were interested until they told us we have to pay travel and feeding expenses. Okay....)

And China is a major tourist, and even educational hotspot.

Meanwhile, how many Nigerians can afford to fly out regularly??

I suspect we won't see many cases because of that fact. For once, being a poor nation might be beneficial. (though that does not man government should be lazy)

The fact is, which you don't get, this novel coronavirus HAS NO CURE. So anyone who falls ill has a 50/50 chance of dying.

Add the fact that Kyari , regardless of the state of our health care system, would have gotten the best of care (nepotisim, of course).

The truth is, this is a new illness. No one knows who lives or dies OR WHY yet.

What you are saying isn't exactly true. Every serious case overseas gets the same type of care. And even when they get high quality care, people still die.

The problem is, apart from the fact that 'having serious predisposing conditions' and old age may predispose one to dying from coronavirus, no one knows the exact factors that predispose one to dying. Add the fact that there is no cure whatsoever yet.

Once one falls ill, medics can give supportive care and hope the immune system does its best.

This is for those claiming he had died before yesterday. It is forbidden in Islam to keep the dead unburried.

In the state house statement, it said funeral arrangements will be announced. That will definitely be today but most likely low key burial.

If he dies, are we then immortal? hope for a good ending yourself rather than musing on that of others.

If good hospitals would have saved lives, how come people are dying in their thousands in the US and the UK and other developed countries??

Yes, our government should have done better for health care, but in this case, having good hospitals won't have saved Kyari's life.
