Cityfirstborn:
Stop been biased, the ref was spot on. Nothing like discretion or trying to read intentions in football. You officiate according to the books. That was a counter attacking move by man city and Gabriel was well beaten, instead of trying to recover, he put in a dangerous foul for a player already in motion. You expect the ref to wave play on. For those kind of foul play, it deserves a yellow.

Sad to even see some here complaining that Silva had intentions of diving when it's evident xhaka clearly dragged him and was holding his shirts for more than 5seconds. Arsenal players clearly lacked game management and discipline.
Have you watch today's game, Chelsea vs Liverpool? Similar thing happened, but Ref used his discretion and just warned the player and gave a foul.
It's not every foul that ref give according to what it's in the book, but that doesn't mean the card or the foul didn't due.
It's to manage a high profile match.
So,I don't know what you mean your own by being bias.
Ref have a final decision in the field of play,he can overlook or award any foul on his own accord.
So,I still maintained that, what happened that yesterday wasn't necessary and a more experienced ref would have handled the situation more maturely than what that man did.Todays incident has validated my stance.

Nope that was a deserved card. It was such an unnecessary foul especially knowing he had been booked earlier. undecided
Knowing fully well that the player was already been booked, the Ref should have used his own discretion not to issue a second yellow in order to balance the game.If it was a first yellow, yes,it would have been understood.

spartan117:
He cynically stopped a counter attack. Players always get booked for that, the fault is on the player because he knew he was already on a yellow card yet he still did it.
In a tension-soaked-match like this, knowing fully well that the player was already on yellow card, the ref should have used his discretion to exercise restraint in issuing a second yellow The offense wasn't as serious as the ref was trying to make us believe.
If it was a serious foul like stopping a goal bound ball with hand or a tackle that leads to a broken leg,a second yellow card wud av bin justified.
But stopping a counter attack at the opponent half of the field?
No,a second yellow wasn't all that necessary in a high profile match of that nature. If the player wasn't booked earlier, good! It wud av bin justified to issue a yellow card.

Wait. If Arsenal had won this match, you mean tired Liverpool OR uselessly overrated casted Chelshit would have stopped them from winning the league?
Yes,they would have stopped City from winning the leaque.

Chelsea abeg hold on to that one goal in case una no fit score another one. Expecially as VAR has given Man City an offside goal.

No highest continental league trophy (UCL),but Chelsea has two.

John Noble . When I was 16, that guy did me dirty , then he’s was with Go Round F.C. I was in a local club side , when we played a local team from his community . He played as a striker #9, he didn’t keep despite been a Goalkeeper. I was a menace to him that day till he pushed me to the wall behind our post . I had a bruise on my head , which made the game to be abandoned . I cursed him as a Nigerian , not knowing that it doesn’t work , but hard work, connection and grace . Me that cursed , I’m still playing street football bar some stints in local teams . Anyway , I’ll keep on pushing . Tales of a grateful soul

.......I cursed him as a Nigerian.....
That line got me laugh till I rolled on the floor without knowing.
So curse is our hobby as Nigerians?

One player that they included in the squad that I am really happy about is Olisa Nda.
He was instrumental to Akwa United winning the Nigeria premier league last season.
A very solid defender.

Meanwhile, that Brentford dada-plaiting boy that used to disturb my darling Chelsea should come and disturb in AFCON..oo,else..............

If nah this lantern glass,I didn't break it much.I pick 2nd position in breaking this in our family ranking. My sister pick first position in this.
But when it comes to breakable plates breaking,I pick first position in the family.
I break it like may be one per week.
Till Mama have to remove me from rotatory plate washing timetable to ground sweeping n water fetching only in the morning before going to school.
We have the lantern like 3 in our house then. Two small ones and one big one.One in Papa room,we use one in our own room, then the big one is kept in the parlour.
The day I finally break the glass of that big one, omo! Papa couldn't beat me again cos he was tire of beating me everytime for the same offence. So my punishment was that we sleep in our own room without light until whenever he will buy a replacement. So he seized the one in our room, but nah parlour own I been break..oo,but he seized the one in our room as punishment.
It wasn't funny at all with my sister cos she fear darkness pass anything. She couldn't sleep well for that number of days the punishment lasted. She used to quarel with me every morning for making my own punishment to reach others.
Even now wer she don marry,me and am still dey laugh whenever we remember those days.

I lost count oooh, it seems me and brother used to break that glass every week till my dad went to buy a pack so that he can be replacing the one that got broken by mistake. But if I break one I will quickly rush and replace it without letting my dad Know not knowing that my brother was doing the same thing too.
Till I broke the last one in the presence of my dad, without further ado he said I should go and bring the glass carton. Lo and behold I opened it but nothing was there but I carried it to him as if the carton were very much heavy until he washed the lantern himself check the kerosene and refilled it then to replace the glass he opened then sad boom....what a judgement day.
He landed a hot slap and all I can see was rainbow colour for like 1 minutes....i kept shouting, oju mi foh, ye ye ye(my is blind, ye ye ye).
After then I still continue in the ministry till he changed it to gas florescent lights
Chaii! Childhood memories eh!
