Politics › Re: Reno Replies Peter Over "Justice Must Be Fair" ValueJet Comment by Pacesetter123(m): 11:22am On Aug 12, 2025
helinues:
To first start with, should Peter Obi have reacted to this issue if he's mature enough as an elder statesman?

Why is Peter Obi always selective on which issue to react to most especially anything bad news.

Respect is earned by respecting others. Peter Obi is not respecting himself by jumping on unnecessary issues
It is a national issue and every Nigerian has a right to air his/her opinion about it.
Peter Obi is a private citizen like you and I.
So what makes you think you have the right to comment on this issue or any other issues of national importance that you wish and he doesn't ?
Accusing him of selective comment on some issues and not all or others. You,yourself;is it all the issues that happened in Nigeria that you normally lent your voice to it?
If not, then why are you accusing another private citizen like you?

The airline K1 messed up with is a private company. They can choose to press charges or not... That’s what I’m telling you..
Why should it be the sole responsibility of the "private airline" to press charges against him?
What then is the duty of the regulatory body?
Don't you know that there are offense that are state offense?
For instance,if you k..iiiii...ll somebody now,do you think the Nigeria state will allow you to roam about the street freely simply bcuz the family of the deceased says they don't want to press any charges against you?
Any case of murder is case of State vs the Suspected Criminal and not "private individuals" vs suspect.
And so is the offense of "Aircraft Hostage Taking" which the Nigeria Aviation Regulatory Body has said the action of KWAM 1 is akin to.
So it's a state offense and not a "private airline" company's offense as you said.

EngineerOloye:
I don't think the reason K1 is not jailed is because he is a Yoruba man! If you think that, then you are yet to know a few things about power.

Heck, let any Yoruba youth go and try beating up an airline staff any where in this nation, and I repeat, anywhere, and see if they wouldn't get picked up!

I saw the video with K1 preventing the aircraft from taking off... Check if he is the first "big man" in Nigeria to hold a plane to "ransom", and I don't think he'll be the last.

. Our society like most have different laws for rich and poor. It's everywhere, just how it's shown differs from place to place.

Let's not self perpertuate the tribalistic divide and conquer narrative our political upper class use to manipulate us.
You are saying the fact.
But his (the guy you quoted) comment came as a reply to what someone said earlier that the incident is staged manage to get at KWAM 1.They said KWAM 1 is a well known "Yoruba" musician and as such cannot/shouldn't be arrested and charged for the offense in the airport last week but that this girl is "unknown" and not a Yoruba by tribe that is why she deserves to be jailed.
So it was on that note that the guy responded with "Yoruba law-breaker" and "Ibibio law-breaker".
So if those guys he was responding to had viewed Obi's comment the way you viewed that it's the "POOR" vs the "RICH" system and not tribe, the guy wouldn't have made the comment you quoted.
But no,they quickly changed Obi's comment on the poor and the rich to Yoruba tribe vs the rest of the tribe.
And one will then wonder where we are heading to in this country with all this tribalism of a thing.

Seems you are very new here. I remember when people were praising this refinery saying it will be a game changer but now it's the other way round. Some people went as far as saying it's the obidents that are against the refinery. My question now is how come most things obidents said has come to pass. It's clear that dangote is monopolizing the oil industry. He determine when price drop or increase. It's a shame the fg you mentioned used the local refinery for politics and criminality. Dangote is just a business so let him deal with you guys in the language you understand
We are on the same page.
I don't see any reason FG should removed subsidy and said it will use it to build refineries to boost local production. But fail to do so.
Instead of people to face the FG,they are now blaming Dangote who is a capitalist only interested in profit maximization.
So,me like this,I never for once hyped Dangote refinery as the solution to our fuel problem.
Politics › Re: Dangote Hikes Petrol Price To ₦850 Per Lit, Resumes Sale After 1-week Suspension by Pacesetter123(m): 9:32am On Aug 09, 2025
So this is the so called market forces they were talking about that will force the price down?
I laff you people in Chinese...huu huu wan chuuuu!

When I told some supporters of lopsided policies here that it was wrong for FG to have claimed deregulation in petroleum sector and the same time control fuel price by fixing the price of fuel. They argued n.. o ..n ..se...s en se here.
The best would have been to allow the pricing system to run on it own.
It would have definitely been brought down by the competitive market forces.
But the supporters here were thinking otherwise.
Now they have seen it clearly that the fuel price is still being controlled by the FG even after removing subsidy and that it's not healthy for us and our economy.

Wow! Imoh state alone produce 7 out of 20 something players in the national team?
What a feat!
That shows the progress of sport in their state.
Or apart from Alozie that I know she was "formally" American, are the rest home grown?
If they are not, then I cancelled my first statement of the progress of sport there.
But be that as it may,the governor try for the reward.
And he is very proud of his state for having such number of players in that squad.
They all perform very creditably proving that their inclusions were all on merit.
I am proud of their state too.
But he should remember to the same to members of the D'Tigres from his state too.Afterall, the president has set another template there for him to follow. So,he should...oooo, except his state doesn't have anybody in that team which I doubt.
