But the guy graduated in 1965. In the early 1960's there was no such thing as quota system. Anyone in university then, regardless of the tribe, earned it. Getting into university then no be beans. Nothing like 5 credits, pass jamb (there was no jamb then..it was O and A level, and 5 credits at o level could not even get you to enter A level self), For medicine, one had to pass O levels very very well...A and B self....and after 2 years, pass A levels very very well.

No quota system, nothing like that.

He also, if he qualified in Nigeria, graduated from either UNN or UI , which had the only medical schools then. No medical schools in the North till 1967, when ABU opened its medical school.

Passing entrance exams into secondary schools. Tough as well. Again, no quota system, no cut off marks then. nothing. You passed, or you failed.

I want to point out that the Quota system implemented in Nigeria to give "Undue equity/advantage" to the backsliding Northern Nigerians who had some preindependence religiously mediated "antiwestern" ideas had been a mainstay by the colonial masters prior to 1960 Independence.
