Even though I abhor xenophobia, what I hate more is illegality.
If they went to the country illegally or committed any form of illegality, then I will not oppose the host country for wanting them out.
However, it is important to condemn attacks on legal and law abiding immigrants and violent attacks on anybody, legal or not.
My point here is I am not against the repatriation of illegals. No country thrives on chaos |

I think remote job hunting is a game of numbers, I spent like 4 months or so in 2023 focused on doing remote jobs.
I do python tests sotey I tire.
I finally got one, the money wasn't great but at all at all na bastid...
I got the confirmation letter and all and we were supposed to commence training via a slack channel.
SO we were given some basic registration to do and it involved opening an account with one international transfer company like this and I couldn't. I sha complained and they said that they typically don't take people from Nigeria cos of the many issues that come with dealing with people in Nigeria, of which the payment problem was primary.
E pain me so much, I think that was one of the last application I have done till date. |

300 Level C++.
I think I scored 94 or so.

Travel › Re: Share Your First Time Flight Experience by pak: 3:49pm On May 06 |
Nice of you to recount your experience. But unless you are flying international, you are not likely to go thru immigration. It's either the Airline officials at the boarding area or the security check counter. kudos to you and more flights in the days and years ahead. My first flight was over 20 years ago in a 12 seater private plane owned/operated by a state Government. I was going with a man who was a top Govt official and would later be Governor 3 years later. I was considered a PowerPoint Guru! back then and he need a tech person to accompany him to abuja for a presentation. So I had his typed out speech and I converted it to a power point for him while he made inputs on what he wanted. Be diligent at whatever you do, you do not know what will make room for you. Mrsoft3: Have you traveled by air before?
How was the experience?
Come share some tips for first timers.
Here is mine:
Flight was scheduled to leave by 4:35 from jos airport to Lagos via Abuja.
Flight ticket was booked and I headed straight to the airport, we did weighing of luggage and straight to the ticket booth where I submitted my booking ticket and passport.
My bag was tagged and sent to the loading truck.
We then went to the immigration section and checked after which I was shown to the waiting hall for departures.
Flight arrived from Lagos and touched down at 4:15pm in Jos with Abuja and jos passengers, when they finish alighting an announcement came from that their loud speaker and we lined up for ticket checks and body check then straight to boarding.
After we had sat down in the plane the hostesses welcomed us on board and the normal demonstration about safety started, I was just calm and over calm that gave me away sha. But I don’t think anybody noticed.
The plane taxied to the runway and I was eager to feel the speed rush. And when it was time for take off I smiled when the plane engaged the engine for speed.
I sha fasten my seat belt very well and I sat close the the window.
My stomach did one kind fine sweet feeling like this and it was awesome. Had some turbulence because of weather but it was a cool flight that day. |

Phones › Re: What's Your Review On Huawei Phones? by pak: 7:10pm On Apr 22 |
Thanks for your detailed and well constructed feedback. Nland will be a better place if only half of the responders can step to your level. Now to your take, I think this means non techy people or people who just want to use their smart phones as a tool or means to an end might do better to avoid Huawei. A good example is personally, I think most linux distros are superior to windows but aside once dual booting both on my system, I have stuck to windows cos I can stand the headache of compatibility issues I am a big fan of Hauwei too, infact my opinion is if you were given an amount say X00 thousand naira and told to go to the market and buy a new phone with that amount, Huawei is likely to give you the best value for your money. Infact I am looking at the Mate X and Mate XT series with so much envy. But I am afraid to touch them now cos of this wahala with Android. Mistral: I don’t participate on this platform as regularly as I used to years ago, but I feel obliged to share this comment.
I’ve been a Huawei user for many years and even now—without Google services—I can confidently say the experience has been impressive. The smoothness, privacy and freedom from constant ads (since Google is a major ad sponsor) make a huge difference.
On my device, I rely on a Microsoft email account and have fully integrated Microsoft Office. I use:
- Huawei’s Petal Maps instead of Google Maps. In my opinion, Petal Maps offers a cooler design and a richer experience. - Huawei’s App Gallery along with the third-party Aurora Store Aurora Store connects directly to the Play Store but doesn’t require a Google account. It works just like the Play Store, offering the same experience without compromise. - Microsoft Copilot as a replacement for Google Gemini. Copilot provides unlimited deep-thinking chats by default, processes data through Bing and is on par with Google’s AI. - NewPipe/SnapTube instead of YouTube. These apps connect to YouTube, allow direct downloads to device storage and even let you comment, like and subscribe without a Google account.
Out of curiosity, I once installed Google services through GBox, but quickly removed them. The difference was clear: fewer ads (especially on YouTube), less battery drain and peak performance. Microsoft Office integration for business tasks also feels far more seamless compared to Google Drive. It’s a unique experience that many people may never fully appreciate because all they have ever known is Google.
The only downside I’ve noticed without Google is that certain games and some ride-hailing apps won’t work unless Google Mobile Services is enabled via GBox.
Currently, I use a Samsung phone as a backup, but my Huawei remains my main device. As someone deeply familiar with phone technology, I can say Huawei’s software is among the most optimized, deeply customizable and secure systems in the world. In my experience, it even outperforms most Samsung A-series and Xiaomi devices of similar price in terms of battery efficiency, customization and smoothness. 10 years of using Huawei phones consistently, I’ve found no other brand that matches their durability, battery performance and customization options (though Samsung’s One UI comes close, it usually feels overloaded with too many features).
Using a Huawei device is not for the average user—it requires a certain level of tech familiarity to truly appreciate the experience without Google Mobile Services. I’ve lived without Google for years, yet my banking apps and social media platforms still work flawlessly. Even TikTok from App Gallery (about 450 MB to download) offers a richer experience compared to the simplified Google version. The journey has made me realize that Google often simplifies its UI, apps and certain services to cater to the masses to boost efficiency. With Huawei, I feel like I’m living in a different timeline compared to most people around me.
I currently use the Huawei P60 Pro

Hi what was your experience of using the Pura like in terms of compatibility with Playstore and Android Apps. Some claim you will not be able to use some core Andoid resources or it will come with restriction since Pura and other new Huawei phones now come with either HarmonyOS or EMUI Lawag3: What makes you think it's nonsense Because I use the pura 70 it's pretty solid I also use an old OPPO A60 both are better to me than the iPhone.
It may be just my personal bias.
Anyway I bought Huawei pura 70 it isn't bad at all. |

Kobojunkie: Why are even the most learned among Nigerians some of the most ignorant? I can't seem to wrap my head around this. 😒😒😒
Not trying to hold brief for any religion but want to understand exactly how did this man come away concluding that the traditional orisa worship we have in Yoruba land is less associated with violence? is he suggesting we turn a blind eye to the violence of money rituals or ritual murders for example? 😒😒
I happen to have read somewhere that he is or was a cultist and we all know it is associated with traditional worship ideas. Are cults equally less violent? 😒😒''
2. He is free to believe in whatever he chooses; but he does not have freedom to make up his own facts, abeg. To this day, we don't know whether much of the kidnapping happening across Nigeria is connected to orisa worship or not but the pattern seems to follow in many cases.😒 Let's not even start talking about how most ancient towns were involved in wars of supremacies amongst each other and their gods. Infact it is documented that both ancient Hausa and Yoruba traditional societies were often weakened because they were in consistent warfare with one another. That they are not so belligerent today might be more down to the fact that they no longer have much means to unleash violence. Nobody starts violence when it is almost certain it will lead to them being wiped out. Perhaps what he should have said which I agree with is that the natural religions are usually more tolerant of the beliefs of others and do not usually claim exclusivity. And are more willing to listen, accept and imbibe ideas that are more superior unlike the main religions which are relatively fixed and stubborn against improvement |
