The best solution is to collapse the Kano and the four additional Emirates into 2. Bayero rules over one and Sanusi the other. When one joins his ancestor, the emirate will be combined back to the surviving King whose successor will continue as the sole King of the Unified Emirate |
This might work in Obi's favor. Without being in control of any state, Kwankwaso might see his electoral value is diminished and might be willing to parley |
If you had moved it back by just 2 years to 2014, most items would have been about 10 times more expensive |
These are the same Northerners that when election time comes will still give bloc votes on the basis of religion to politicians who have refused to give them basic protection. Same people that if the US announces of an intention to strike terrorists, they will be given placards to go and protest foreign intervention. They will say "US is the devil" but no protest against Turji and the bandits who have been terrorizing their lives for years |
Will I lift up my eyes to the Hills, Does my help come from the Hills (No). My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth. He will not suffer my foot to be moved. He that keeps me will not slumber |
This guy has fought his coach (Finidi), has fought the opponents (Tunisian bench) and now is fighting his teammate. The only thing left is the referee and at this rate e go fight referee one day |
FreeStuffsNG:I am not saying it is good to increase fuel price indiscriminately neither do I support another country taking control of your resources BUT nobody should take economic advice from Hugo Chavez, that guy basically ruined Venezuela's economy to the point where people were queuing to buy tissue paper - it was that bad. And when you consider that Venezuela's oil output is about 60% of Nigeria's while their population is less than 20% of Nigeria , then you realise as bad as Governance in Nigeria is, we are still better managed than Venezuela |
2special:Sincere question here - do you think modern engines still need the warm up? I thought that was an issue with older cars |
Drxxzy:I have owned the first 2 (slightly different years though) Benz GLK 2015 and Toyota Camry 2015. I will say they are both impressive and have been relatively problemless for me. I have used both of them for more than 2 years and I have travelled extensively with them. I just came back from a 6 hour trip with the Camry days ago and it was a smooth Journey. However, the GLK is something of a luxury car, if you need an everyday work tool, go for the Camry. The cons of the GLK is that unless you are heavily loaded, even you will be afraid to just carry it anywhere cos maintenance is on the extreme high side (it doesn't give issues freuently but when it does be prepared to spend). Surprisingly, the fuel consumption on the highway is low almost equivalent to the Camry, though it does consume a lot in inner city drive. The only con thus far for the Camry is that the 2015 and beyond versions are extremely low, I have several times had to get a panel beater to work on the lower parts of my bumber cos it is always hitting stuff on the ground but the important parts of the car - the engine, the gear and other inner parts are extremely reliable |
I really don't know the specifics of this story so I am hesitant to judge on this but my comment is based on my own experience at Lafia/Larmude. First off, based on the reports, the incident did not happen in Yola, Lafia/Larmude is perhaps an hour away from the capital - Yola. Two Lafia/Larmude has a reputation for being a volatile town and in many occasion have been reported to attack security operatives, block the federal roads that crosses thru the town (which incidentally is the only road that leads to the far North east) once that road is blocked, nobody can proceed into or outside the North east. I have been stuck in Larmude for about 7 hours while travelling due to a similar situation, local boys attacked a Police (or civil defense, can't remember which now) vehicle and the security operatives shot to repel and killed one of them and hell was let loose. the roads were blocked and by evening the indigenes started attacking travellers stuck on the road side. I was personally attacked by two boys but I fought them back, clung to my bag and screamed for help. At some points all the travellers were told to huddle together in one area to defend ourselves against the thugs who were all locals. Luckily for us, the military was actually stationed not too far away and when they saw the situation was getting out of hand - it was night and vehicles were piled up for kilometres and the boys were not letting off and worse, they were robbing passengers, the soldiers decided to swoop in, firing gunshots directly at those boys. The situation never got to mainstream media but I am sure a lot of people might have been killed that day because I remember clearly that the soldiers were shooting directly at them. Anyway, that's my experience with that town and I can't say much about this particular incidence but Larmude definitely has a bad rep when it comes to violence (note that the story mentioned chobo speaking militia, this is one of the tribes around that area, they are almost perpetually involved in communal crisis from what I heard ) and I can sort of guess why security operatives might have acted overboard |
Tukur did not just receive 50 Million from terrorist, he is actually part of the terrorist network - the public facing arm |
Also include The Ayew brothers |
DeepSight:Can you please explain where you got your deduction from? Is it based on an economic theory or a research paper? |
creolehunt:One of the dumber things I have heard. What about this neo banks that allow you to transfer as much as 300k in one go, why has that not led to hyperinflation. We should be looking at how these notes will ease cash handling and be in line with current economic realities |
The sad part is that most citizen are getting to a place of indifference. The general belief is that sub saharan Africa has not enjoyed the so called dividends of democracy |
njokuuche77:You are wise |
FarahAideed:God bless you. It's easy to breach trust in high trust society. Just like saying betraying someone who trusted you make you highly intelligent |
If the list is considered as a percentage of the population, then Estwani should be on top |
interesting thread |
Popular mistake a lot of people make - Judaism started about 2300 years ago. The initial Israelite religion was not named but modern scholars call it Yahwism - the worship of Yahweh. Yahwism started with Moses around 3500 years ago and was succeeded by Judaism and the Samaritan religion. There were significant differences between the 2, Going into them will require a thread of its own but not today |
agentNija:Cech? He was great but did you see Buffon, Schmeichel or Dino Zoff |
meobizy:If my memory serves me right, the robbery occured in Nigeria. She later traveled to the UK |
Basic123:Modern rails especially for high speed trains are very expensive to build and maintain, especially on long routes. To be honest, rather than any wasteful venture, the best option is to fix the existing highway and make it motorable. We do not need 'super' solutions, what Nigeria needs now is a system that works |

RightChannel:True. Where is Aisha in all of this. We have not heard from her |
They've always been in the game. They're just more bolder now and social media and digitization has made it more difficult to hide traces of a sina lifestyle |
These are the kind of post we need on Nairaland front page. Enlightening and beneficial content. Kudos |
