TravelSuggestions For A 500k Vacation In January by pak(op): 2:52pm On Dec 27, 2020
I just completed a very difficult project this month and I intend to cool off with a vacation in January.

My initial plan was the UK but with the resurgence of COVID and the new strain, that seems of the table.

Please what other practical suggestions does anyone have?

My budget is 500k (for everything flight, accommodation, feeding etc)

I have a between 7 to 10 days.

I am single and will be traveling alone.

I'll really like to hear from you
BusinessRe: Fire Razes Wood Market 'Katako' In Jos by pak: 1:00am On Nov 18, 2020
Cutezt:
An inferno razed down the Timber B Hausa line of popular wood market Katako, In Jos, the Plateau State Capital in the late hours of Monday.

The fire which occurred on Monday night destroyed property worth millions of naira and left many shop owners in despair.

According to an eyewitness who identified himself as Adamu Abdulahi, the fire started in the night, but he couldn’t give details on what was the cause of the inferno.

Abdulahi said the inferno started at about 11 pm.

He said despite the presence of the state firefighters, the inferno destroyed dozens of timber shelves.

“The fire started and men of the fire service, did their best as they swiftly responded, and they kept on coming with their fire fighting trucks,” he said.

In 2013, a similar incident occurred in the same market, and traders lost goods worth millions of naira.

Officials of the state fire service are yet to make any statement on the Monday situation.

The Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong responded swiftly by promising to set up a committee to look into the constant cause of inferno at Katako market where properties worth Millions of Naira were destroyed.

Governor Lalong disclosed this while visiting the scene which was guilted by fire on Monday night, expressed deep concern over the sad development regretting the reoccurrence of fire incident at the market each year which is affecting the traders and the economy of the state.

Governor Lalong who was represented by the Management Committee Chairman of Jos North Shehu Bala Usman said the committee when Constituted would work closely with the officials of the market to find a lasting solution to the constant fire incident in the area.

you missed my point... i have never said it was wrong to marry someone younger, i simply stated that AS TIME GOES BY and they grow older, the differences will be apparent, and thats when it will really be difficult for them.

we men can marry much younger babes and i fully understand why many do (who no like better things?!)... but they only think about NOW NOW, and dont care about the future, when they get really old and that babe is now still fresh, but you cant cater to her "needs".
Quite the opposite. The difference becomes less apparent actually
Women tend to age faster, the stress child bearing has on the body is also a factor.

A 40 year old woman with 3/4 kids will often look older than her 50 year old husband

Hello

https://cotenant.ng/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/jos_Riyom-Rock-Formation-Plateau-State-900x500.jpg

We continue with our series cost of rent around in Nigeria, Today we look at Plateau state

Plateau state is a state in Nigeria. It is approximately located at the centre of the country with its capital city as Jos. It is geographically unique in Nigeria because its boundaries totally surround the Jos Plateau, having the Jos Plateau totally in its central and northern part. Plateau State is popularly known as "The Home of Peace and Tourism". Plateau State gets its name from the Jos Plateau. It has a population of about 3.5 million people.

Plateau is bound by Bauchi state in the north east, Kaduna state in the north west, Nasarawa in the south west and Taraba in the south east. Plateau State is a middle belt state in Nigeria. The state has an area of about 26,899 square kilometres. Plateau state is named after the picturesque Jos Plateau, a mountainous area in the north of the state with captivating rock formations. Bare rocks are scattered across the grasslands, which cover the plateau. The altitude ranges from around 1,200 meters (about 4000 feet) to a peak of 1,829 metres above sea level in the Shere Hills range near Jos. Years of tin mining have also left the area strewn with deep gorges and lakes.

We would be looking at 2 bedroom apartments in Plateau State

I'll like to commend you for the great work.

However, I must add that cost of apartments are now slightly higher especially in areas primarily occupied by non-indigenes.
My company has had a two bedroom apartment in Jos now for about a decade and I go there very often on official assignments.
We rented a 2 bedroom apartment in Zaramanganda for #350 about 6 years ago and the house wasn't the best or most expensive. I can imagine the price now.

When we wanted to move, our desired apartment was priced at #1M in Rayfield.
We eventually settled for another of #500k not too far from old airport Junction.

Yeah, rent is still relatively cheaper compared to bigger cities but slightl more expensive on the average than the prices quoted above

Hello All,

I applied for an MEng degree in a school in Canada where it was stated that English Test scores are not mandatory at the point of application if your initial degrees were taught in English.

However the Grad studies dept just contacted me that my application will require a TOEFL result.

I requested for two weeks to take the result.

I want to know if it is possible for me to register, prepare and seat for the TOEFL exams and get the results sent to the school within two weeks.
Thanks

Wow wow wow.. I can't forget that final where Messi was given two wicked penalty kicks! And please who scored that flying header for nigeria?
Sir, Jay-Jay no feature for any U17?
Jay Jay only featured at U-20 level at Mauritius 93, the team had the likes of Taribo West, Andrew Aikhomogbe et al. Kanu was initially part of that team but Westerhoof convinced the coaches to allow him focus on the U-17 instead.

The team should have qualified for Australia 93 but we were placed in the same group as Ghana and Cameroon who were our perennial nemesis at that time. The Ghanaian team in particular was excellent, featuring the likes of Odartey Lamptey, Osei Kuffour, CK Akunnor and Daniel Addo.

Drake and Sade, sleep and death. Wetin drake chop sef? Sade was and still is a seminal artist. The only artist to release an album once in a decade and still hit the heights. It's not by twitter followers. The quality gulf between the Shade brand and Drake is so large that I can only thank Goodness that she didn't stoop low. For those that don't know Sade well, never mind about this article, just forget you ever read it, it's not meant for you. Sade that was winning Grammy' before Drake was born and whose music will remain relevant long after Drake dies. It's just like comparing Justin Bieber to Bob Dylan (I know a lot of folks know zilch about Dylan) because Beiber has more twitter followers. These are people who charted new courses for commercial music as we know it today

Very bad
I don't know his full story....
But yes! It does hurt to keep quiet in the face of wrong.
People who refuse to condemn wrong are as bad as those who commit it.
Perhaps if the guy had been in the midst of those who condemned drug trafficking strongly, he might not have gone into it.
Perhaps there's a nairalander reading this thread who is frustrated and contemplating drug trafficking. Our aversion and condemnation to it might nudge him towards the right thing.
So it's not about sanctimony but whenever we speak or stand against wrong, we are actually saving our own lives

What manner of delusional change is dis huh
As much as I am not a supporter of Saraki or PDP, it seems the way the so called power bloc of APC is going about issues plays into the hands of the opposition.

After excessive consultations ?? with who ? Why not allow the democratic process to have its way. That was how the 'babas' of AD back then killed the party even though they initially had the backing of the masses

But atleast the government can try to experiment new methods to work with children like this in NL today i have read 2 cases about children committing thief already...probably this children dont even go to school and they become a project of a love-vendor or a tout which result to this sort of behaviours...this kids can be changed feeding, schooling and give them a project to keep them busy after school e.g how to become an electricity, mechanic, construction, wielding...
Very true. You made a valid point.

The practice in Yoruba land in times past is that every child must have something doing at every point. Either education or learning a trade. So that he doesn't become useless to himself or his society.

why is the father not arrested and this minors should be taken to school and rehabilitated in a different type of school not publishing them on papers the leaders of Nigeria are totally irresponsible
rehabilitation might not be possible in some deep seated pathological cases.

People suffering cluster B personality disorders are extremely hard to treat.

There emotional and psychological growth might have been stunted during a precarious and crucial period of childhood and no matter the therapy in adulthood, might be impossible to restore.

An example is people who suffer mental deficiencies in the first two years of growth due to sickness or other factors might never be able to reach minimally acceptable intellect levels throughout their lives, so is it with personality and psychology disorders. You can't teach people empathy in adulthood or even adolescence

This is more an evidence of moral decadence and some sort of pathological deceitfulness

Even if they were not poor, though they might not have been stealing necklaces from shops but they would still have been criminals.

Don't be surprised if the kids are also drug addicts
