PoliticsRe: Say Good Bye To Goodluck Jonathan In Your Way by Pamcrest(f): 10:42pm On May 28, 2015
Jonathan, I have never voted for u, not in 2011 n certainly not this year. Why, u may ask me? Simply because I never saw any presidential attribute, innate or outward, in you. I believed you didn't have what it takes to rule this country n for 6 years, u proved me right.
As u vacate Aso rock, I hope u never forget d lessons learnt. Man up, never allow yourself to be used as a puppet by selfish greedy people. When u have a job to do it, do it properly, transparently n diligently. Nothing in life is permanent. U wasted d opportunity thrust on your laps, squandered d goodwill of d Nigerian people and now leaving behind a legacy of crunching fuel scarcity, soaring market prices, comatose economy, depreciated infrastructures/systems n raging poverty. Yet I wish u no ill.
May God order your steps as He deems fit.

Christianity EtcRe: A Thread For Catholics by Pamcrest(f): 4:16pm On May 27, 2015
Syncan:
From Today's Gospel. Jn. 15:18-21

"Jesus said to his disciples: “If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own; but because you do not belong to the world, and I have chosen you out of the world, the world hates you...."

Does the world still hate our generation of Christians? Though I will not generalize, but the world is at home with the kind of Christianity majority of Christians practice. Peppyluv02,Christianity has been made fashionable to the world by blending with the world's dictate. Ajerry, tell me why the world will have a problem with the Christianity that turned you into a money bag with private jets at your disposal. fembleez1, Why will the world hate my style of worship when it's same like being in a worldly club? Why will the world hate your dressing, when it's just same with the reigning worldly fashion without care for modesty. Why will the world hate my companionship Pavore9, when I join in discussing debauchery and all forms of immoral escapades without care. Goldienana, how will the world hate our business partnership, when we won't blink to cheat and make money?

I often tell myself that if faced by ISIS and asked to denounce Christianity; that I will stand firm, but Amuchejane; do you know that each time I look at how I tell lies at the slightest provocation, indeed how I hid my Identity at the smallest attack on my faith...yeah even in a faceless forum like NL....Nneka123; how I shrink and coward off when someone criticize our practice, emmabest2000, how easily I give consideration to things that will lead to my denial of my faith...Ezenwa11 each time I think of these things, I wonder if I'll have the grace to withstand ISIS. I have indeed compromised my faith in lesser temptation. However I am willing to strive to perfection. Pamcrest,I am reading the lives of the saints. babestell,I discuss holy things with the brethren(especially here), woky, I talk to God in prayer. Missonas,I join my brethren in group prayers...like the novena starting here tomorrow. Rose2014, I seek the prayers of my beloved brethren (14th May is my day), that the grace of God may lift me up. Misscongeniality, I take recourse to the blessed Virgin, whose help has seen sinners turn to saints, and I face each day determined to show the world that I am for Christ.

Good morning brethren, a splendid day ahead to all.

Note: If you've not picked a date please do, Mine is 14th May and the psalm I chose is Psalm 16. God bless you all.
So where is this leading to.......

It's not bias, my brother. But should one give gifts n expect something in return? It has nth to do with d price tag but that she made an effort should be encouraged. I think we all shd learn to appreciate whatever someone gives or does for u, no matter how little.

FamilyRe: Must A Woman Be Married To Get Respect? by Pamcrest(f): 7:46pm On Apr 22, 2015
Onyiridike:
My sister, I agree with you but know this:

1. Respect goes beyond greeting.

2. Some cultures confer on married women a lot of respect that single ladies will never get.

Examples:

1. A man cannot beat a married woman in some culture no matter her offence. However, a single lady can be beaten mercilessly.

2. It is a big taboo to harrass a married woman sexually. In fact you don't touch her or say certain things to her.

3. Married woman has a say in the affairs of her community. Nobody listens to a single lady.

4. Even in the church, married couple enjoy some special respect and treatment.

5. No right thinking person disrespects a mother (in marriage).
Oh really, in Africa....that's great. Which African culture incorporates points 1,2,3 above?

FamilyRe: Must A Woman Be Married To Get Respect? by Pamcrest(f): 9:18am On Apr 22, 2015
Respect is not marital-status sensitive. Respect should be earned n it is reciprocal. But here in our neck of d woods, showing respect is a sign of good upbringing n it's compulsory to show respect to someone higher than u in age, in status, in position, etc. For us, if u see a single woman and a married one, d first inclination is to show respect to d married one because marriage confers a sense of responsibility on a woman. It doesn't mean single ladies are not worthy of respect, it's just our way of doing things here. Every woman notices d change once u change your marital status. But I reiterate respect is reciprocal. Show respect to everyone u meet n u will be respected in return.

grin I remember I was at a pharmacy n this particular guy kept giving up his place on d queue to everyone behind him. As people kept passing him, I got curious n pretended I was reading d label on a bottle while checking him out of d corner of my eye. Eventually he became d only one remaining n d salesgirl asked what he wanted. He whispered something but to confirm, d girl just shouted out "oh u want condom?". As the guy nervously turned around, he saw me looking at him with suppressed laughter. He simply bolted out d door.....I couldn't understand it! After a good laugh with d salesgirl I advised her to put the condom packs on d counter so that shy guys can simply point to what they want without feeling embarrassed.

CareerRe: 10 Things Nobody Tells You...just Know It's Time To Quit Your Job by Pamcrest(f): 10:02am On Apr 21, 2015
Anazp:
ur earlier post confirms the fact that most african women aren't risk takers. may married women even discourage their husbands from taking the plunge. the big fortune 500 companies today were not created by spirits- humans who took huge risks created them. imagine when the house of representatives resumes in June only 14 women would be members. terrible
If u talk about giant leaps, huge risks, then u may be right. Most men don't take such risks too...and any man using his wife's caution as excuse is just been mischievous. As for politics in Nigeria, it still is male dominated because our culture of relegating women is still very much alive n well. Male chauvinism won't allow many married men to support their wives to vie for political posts. And to be honest without that support, I don't see how women can make it. And most women don't support their own, sad but true! cry

women dont take risks. they love it safe. that's why most of them don't make that extreme big cash. not surprised tho
I don't fully agree with u. Women take CALCULATED risks. We don't jump in head first like men....we test d waters to see if d gain is worth d risk. And of course, u will be surprised to see many women holding their own nowadays and they do make that "extreme big cash" through sheer hardwork n resilience.

So unless your life or dignity is in jeopardy, pls persevere n hold on to your job. U can augment by doing some PP on d side.
