TEDHorsePower:I can trace my lineage to the 6th generation and they are all from Awka - maternal & paternal. My 7th generation maternal came from Obimo in Nsukka LGA |
TEDHorsePower:I have a feeling, we can become best of friends. I will visit my home town of Awka around November. I would love to meet you( passionate, but come with only one moniker ooo) and perhaps mksinsight ( intelligent, needed to put any government on their toes) and maybe ( mature, he is a worthy ambassador of the state) I love Anambra and will always want the best for her. We have built a successful society without oil/gas and can do more with it. With love from me |
TEDHorsePower:Whaoo, it is official, I am very happy for my state. The light of the entire black race. In Chinos voice, "We are building, the independent state of Anambra" |
Furious1:Sound mind. Thank you |
Neimeth plc is currently building massive pharmaceutical company before NNPC mega station Amawbia, the new multi-product facility that would be tailored to comply with the World Health Organization’s current standards of Goods Manufacturing Practice, work is seriously going on there.
Please NNPC Mega Station is not at Amawbia. We went to war for that and many people were killed. Be guided! Good News Nonetheless |
ABlAstate:I am happy too that Anambra has joined the league of oil producing states, but what is our production quantity? |
TEDHorsePower:I am still waiting for him to provide his dated data to support his assertion. You can help him as well. Does his assertion numbers mean Associated gas, Non-Associated Gas or Both? |
PapillodeKing:No assertion, provide your dated data It is not by number of LGA, one LGA can produce more than 5 states in oil. A typical example is ONELGA in Rivers state that is producing almost all the oil for Rivers State We have AG and NAG Brother, which one are you talking about? |
TEDHorsePower:You posted a table of Nigeria Frontier Basins or Inland Basins ( All other basins in Nigeria, excluding the Niger-Delta Basin). The Inland basins or the frontier basins will benefit from the 30% annual profit of NNPC as passed in PIA for further exploration Imo state is in Niger-Delta Basin and not one of the Inland Basins as you posted The word basin in geography means a depression in earth surface and we have this depression around Omambala River, hence Anambra Basin I hope you know the difference between OPL & OML as used in your table. Most Fields in Anambra East, Anambra West and Ayamelum falls under OPL as shown in your table. The only exception in Anambra state is OML 143 of SEEPCO which straddled into Anambra(Ogbaru), Rivers, Imo and Delta |
Please have an open mind, do not argue to win but to learn With Love from me |
TEDHorsePower:The data you provided showed that Anambra basin has 10tcf of gas reserve and it supported the earlier data provided by me which showed that Anambra basin has a proven gas deposit of 2tcf - 30tcf Then, I provided a data earlier that showed that Imo has a proven gas deposit of 200tcf-600tcf https://www.businessamlive.com/imo-holds-over-200-trillion-cubic-feet-gas-deposits/ please my people is 2/10/30tcf greater than 200/600tcf? |
TEDHorsePower:Flawed and out-of-point argument. We are talking about oil & gas deposits in Imo & Anambra states and not the number of Hydrocarbon basins in Nigeria In fact Imo has more oil & gas proven reserves than the whole of Anambra Basins And Anambra State is not 95% of Anambra Basin. It straddled into kogi, Enugu etc |
TEDHorsePower:Though I am from Anambra and not Imo, there is nothing wrong with Imo and I would be as happy if I am from Imo |
TEDHorsePower:Please stop misleading people. Folks, please disregard the above erroneous and unfounded assertion. Provide your data or forever remain silent |
As at today: Imo has 200tcf - 600tcf of proven gas reserve Anambra has 2tcf -30tcf of proven gas reserve The more gas reserve in Imo explains the reason Shell and Seplat are investing $2.5b at the Assa North Ohaji South Project More oil production in Imo is the reason why Walter-Smith has completed its refinery and planning for expansion; whereas, our own Orient refinery is all about motion without movement. Maybe tomorrow, Anambra might have more gas(as we discover more) than Imo, but we do not have the data to support that assertion |
kindly note that Anambra Basin is different from Anambra State. Anambra State is a subset of Anambra Basin |
“Approximately, 1Billion cubic feet (Bcf) per year can generate about 1,000MW of electricity at 75 percent output efficiency and minimal losses. Hence, 2Tcf proved reserves in Anambra basin can generate 2,000MW of electricity for approximately 10 years” Iledare said. The Energy Research Analyst at Ecobank said there are significant investments in cottage industries in the south-eastern part of the country that could benefit immensely from small scale power projects that are distributed within the local distribution network. Asked what the regulatory agency can do to help jump-start bringing the vast gas resources in Anambra basin to the value chain; “DPR as a regulator may not necessarily do anything because it is not an operator or investor in exploration and production like NNPC. However, if there is a regulatory bottleneck, DPR can come in and facilitate early production in the gas assets”, said the DPR official. Within the Anambra basin, there are Ugwuoba and Igbariam gas fields; both contain some of the successfully explored gas wells in the basin. Some of the wells in the basin; Igbarim-1, Ajire-1, Akukwa-1 and Akukwa-2, were drilled by Shell-BP between 1938 and 1939 but were abandoned because at that time, the last thing they were looking for was gas. There are also claims by the Anambra state government that two of the Oil Prospecting Licenses (OPLs 915 and 916) within the basin which belongs to the state government-owned Orient Petroleum has an estimated reserve of 193 million barrels of oil condensate and 30Tcf of gas. Energy-starved Nigeria is a paradox of gas resource abundance. Its proven gas reserve is about 186Tcf, most of which come from associated gas, with prospects of the reserve base rising up to 600Tcf if deliberate efforts are made to explore for non-associated gas, yet 80 percent of its power plants which are gas-fired remain partially or perpetually offline as a result of non-availability of gas supplies. https://metrobusinessnews.com/2016/10/19/5-billion-trapped-under-anambra-basin-as-huge-gas-reserve-remains-stranded/ |
TEDHorsePower:Very predictable!. Imo reserve is a public knowledge, please provide data for OUR Anambra reserve |
PapillodeKing:Serious efforts are being made to take out 100 million Nigerians out of the poverty level before the next decade, the federal government reiterated this commitment through the federal ministry of petroleum resources during a two day national gas expansion programme, (NGEP) in Owerri, Imo State. Timipre Sylva, former governor of Bayelsa State, now Minister of State Petroleum Resources, said this at a 2-day programme of the NGEP organized by the Imo State government in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources . “The programme is geared towards the implementation of Mr President’s promises to take 100 million Nigerians out of poverty in the coming decade by ensuring that locally produced as well as available, affordable and acceptable fuel is sufficiently supplied across the country,” he said. According to him, Nigeria is richly endowed with mineral resources specifically crude oil and gas. He disclose that Imo State holds a substantial quantity of gas with over 200 trillion cubic feet and upsides of over 600 tcf, informing that gas is a catalyst for socio-economic renaissance . Even as the year 2020 had already been declared a year of gas, heads of inauguration of committees on national gas expansion programmes was done on January 16, 2020 but the federal government has declared the year 2020 to 2030 as the decade of gas, he noted. NGEP , according to him “is an initiative designed to reinforce and to expand gas supply as well as to stimulate demand in Nigeria, through the effective and efficiient mobilization and utilization of all facets of resources and infrastructure in Nigeria”. NGEP will also promote the use of natural gas as the main energy source for sustained industrialiazation through the establishment of gas based industries, such as petrochemicals, fertilizers, pharmaceauticals , textiles, etc, he said, that the programme had already taken place in Ekiti and Anambra states. Another objective of NGEP is that human capital will be developed and jobs will also be created in the gas subsector. And on the implementation strategy, he said, “while the year 2020 was dedicated to harmonious creation, the year 2021 and beyond is for programme implementation”. He commended governor Hope Uzodinma for his commitment, passion and support for the programme and enjoined Imo residents to embrace the programme. Governor Hope Uzodinma who spoke through the Speaker of the State House of Assembly Paul Emeziem, described the programme as that of change, loaded with cost, efficiency and sustainability alternatives among others. The governor commended the federal government for initiating the programme adding that it is a progress in the area of development and civilization of mankind. “The federal government has done its bit and it is a process of enhancement and our life process and it will create employment opportunity for our people” he stated, even as the programme attracted goodwill messages from a number of Imo state government officials. https://www.businessamlive.com/imo-holds-over-200-trillion-cubic-feet-gas-deposits/ |
MI6Surveillance:Welcome back to our Anambra thread after that your misadventure into Imo thread. |
MI6Surveillance:Anambra na Imo bu nwanne, even though I am from Anambra. Let us go back to our state thread please, and not derail this beautiful Imo thread |
MI6Surveillance:The result of Multiple Account Disorder (MAD). This is Imo State thread ooo and not Anambra own. Please come let us go back to our Anambra thread and do not disturb the peaceful Imolites here |
Philipxxxx0:Power is transient. Lobbying, Negotiations and Trade-offs are the prerequisite to ascending. The anointed one is here and we are anxious of his success Use your tongue to count your teeth. Ya Gazie! With Love from me |
asha80:It is unfolding gradually!. We saw a similar thing in Imo State |
Philipxxxx0:I don't argue with emotions. The deal has been signed and delivered, Obiano knows the conditions he was given at Abuja. Ditto Hope Uzodinma. Reneging has some consequence. 2021/2023 politics You cannot win ALL. Ever wondered why Anambra and Imo had not passed anti-grazing bill?, ever wondered why Imo and Anambra oil wells were returned/acknowledged now?, ever wondered why massive FG driven investments in only Anambra and Imo?, ever wondered why ....?. Allow us to finish the politics. Anambra is on the rise, as the anointed one is here. |
MI6Surveillance:keep on commenting and liking yourself. Provide your data to back up your assertion please |
Rocksvibes234:Provide the record(s) to back up your assertion OR Stop lying to yourself. We all work with AVAILABLE data, not hearsay How can you have the largest gas reserved that is unknown?. Is Anambra gas AG or NAG? |
MI6Surveillance:As an Anambrarian, I am happy that we have 11 oil wells and another 3 to be shared with kogi, but will not say because I am from Anambra to accept a wrong assertion that Anambra is producing more oil than Imo State or even have more oil and gas deposit than Imo. I am in Oil and Gas sector, so I have the records With love from me |
MI6Surveillance:Anambra CANNOT have largest oil or gas reserve when Imo State is in SE. The hope for Anambra ever competing in oil production will be Ogbaru LGA ( Ameshi & Enyie Fields); Most of Anambra West & East axis oil wells will be ceded to kogi state eventually. There are 33 villages in my town and it is sharply divided into 2 by Enugu/Onitsha federal expressway. I am born and bred in my town and know all the landmarks till date. |
MI6Surveillance:Imo had recovered 43 oil wells from Rivers and are in court for full ownership of another 17 wells that are currently been shared 50:50. Similar to Anambra River 1,2,3 been shared 50:50 with Kogi FYI, I am almost certain that you reside at Awka and most likely on one of my ancestral lands. With love from me |
MI6Surveillance:The way you guys make unfounded assertion is beyond comprehension;whilst i hold no brief for any state, Anambra cannot be the largest oil producer(11 oil wells) as alleged when Imo is there with over 50 mega producing oil wells |
Furious1:No oil in Cross-Rivers State again. Ondo is a bona fide member of the oil producing club with about 60,000bpd |
