Furthermore, the Judge ruled that the Seventh Day Adventist Church is a minority in Nigeria and cannot impose its ideology on the majority of other Christian faiths in the country.
The majority will always have their way. It happened in the last presidential election when more than 8 million people voted for Tinubu.

Naira is dying because we are not producing and we are to reliant on foreign products. Stop arresting innocent hard working people. Stop people from paying in dollars and sell how quickly it will fall. However, that is not possible too much things attached to dollars.
Nigeria exported more than what we imported last year.

BusinessRe: CBN Lifts FX Restrictions On Milk, Dairy Products Import To Crash Prices by Paraman: 3:12pm On Mar 20, 2024
Taich:
Can someone explain to me how this will lead to the crash in price of diary products? Lifting ban by CBN means that diary importers can approach the bank for FX, banks will sale FX to importer at bank/black market rate. If importers have been importing since 2020 using parallel market when it would have been cheaper using banks why will price crash now the the bank and parallel rates are same? I will love to be schooled. Thanks in advance.
There are very few people/companies who had access to forex to import milk and other diary products while the rest had to go and get dollars at the black market but right now, everybody will have access to get dollars at the official rate.

Price can fall because of competition
BusinessRe: CBN Lifts FX Restrictions On Milk, Dairy Products Import To Crash Prices by Paraman: 3:00pm On Mar 20, 2024
Dreal1247:
It's only going to bear fruits when there are multiple persons importing the commodities into the country. Otherwise, greed won't allow the monopolistic importers to reduce the prices.
Before, only few people/companies importing milk/diary products were able to get dollars at the official rate, the rest of the people/companies had to go and get their dollars at the black market.

But right now, every person/company importing milk/diary products will both get dollars at the official rate.

Not surprising Nigerians will never disappoint in their character.

They were waiting for igbos to be in the frontlines of their nation wide protests. So if things go bad they will play their favorite sports of using Igbos as scapegoat.

They were so disappointed when Igbos unanimously announced no participation.

Now everyone has chicken out.

The few protest that happened, notice how the army and police were not firing bullets or even trying to stop the protesters.
Nigerians knows protest won't solve the economy situation. We see the hard work tinubu is putting in, so we're supporting him 💯
PoliticsTinubu Promises Economic Turnaround In Coming Months by Paraman(op): 10:57pm On Mar 19, 2024
President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday said the economy is taking a turn for the better and Nigerians will “all smile once again” in the coming months.

He noted that some nations have undergone worse economic experiences than Nigeria has in the past few months.

Tinubu, who was represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, made these assertions when he hosted ministers, service chiefs and other top government officials at the Banquet Hall of the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, for a Ramadan Iftar (breaking of fast).

He said, “Luckily, the economy is turning the corner. By the grace of God, in the coming months, we will have a bountiful harvest season and we shall all smile once again.

“Honourable ministers, service chiefs, distinguished ladies and gentlemen, we have crossed the rubicon and the nation is on its path to sustained growth. Some nations have gone through worse cases in the annals of their history than us.

“The President is working for this nation. He has a good heart for the nation and we have the moral duty to support him in doing whatever way we can to salvage the nation.”

Describing Ramadan as a season of forgiveness and generosity, Tinubu called for prayers for the “restoration of peace and stability in the country.”

He said the overlap of Lent and Ramadan “buttresses the fact that what binds us together exceeds what separates us.”

On his part, the Attorney-General of the Federation, Mr. Lateef Fagbemi thanked the President for the gesture, assuring him of their support in ensuring the nation’s success.

He said, “Mr President, thank you for hosting us this evening…I pray that Allah will continue to enable you. No matter how wealthy you are, there are still things you ask from him.

“I don’t have to look at the crystal ball, but I know one or two. May he grant you your requests.

“About the state of nation, all of us will work and support you to ensure success. This is the ninth day, and I pray that we will all see the end of the Ramadan.”

The cabinet members and service chiefs are the President’s second set of Iftar guests. He is expected to host more such gatherings with senior government officials in the course of the holy month.

BusinessCBN Holds 294th MPC Meeting Monday by Paraman(op): 7:03pm On Mar 19, 2024
The Central Bank of Nigeria has announced the 294th meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee, a crucial gathering that shapes the nation’s economic policies.

The apex bank made this known in a document uploaded on its website on Tuesday.

The MPC is the highest policy-making committee of the bank with the mandate to review economic and financial conditions in the economy, determine appropriate stance of policy in the short to medium term and review regularly, the CBN monetary policy framework and adopt changes when necessary.

The two-day event is scheduled to be held on Monday, March 25, and Tuesday March 26, 2024, at the bank’s headquarters in Abuja.

The committee will review recent economic indicators, inflation rates, and exchange rate stability.

In a statement signed by the CBN governor, Olayemi Cardoso on Tuesday, the governor said, “I wish to acknowledge the significance of presiding over the inaugural Monetary Policy Committee meeting as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria amidst a backdrop of profound economic challenges: escalating inflationary pressures, sluggish economic growth, volatile exchange rates of the naira, and a rising cost of living.

“The anticipation among Nigerians for this meeting to deliver viable solutions that will steer the economy towards sustainable growth and position Nigeria as an attractive
investment destination is palpable.

“On a global scale, economic growth remains subdued while inflation, persistently exceeding the targets of most central banks, exhibits a gradual decline. Geopolitical conflicts continue to disrupt global supply chains, contributing to escalating debts reaching unprecedented levels.”

Domestically, Nigeria witnessed a surge in inflation to 29.9 per cent in January 2024, up from 28.9 per cent in December 2023. Despite the resilience of weak economic growth, the depreciation of the naira against major currencies, driven by a persistent shortage of foreign currency liquidity, has led to price pass-through effects. Notably, the equities market has shown promising performance in 2024.

Market analysts anticipate a cautious approach from the MPC, balancing economic growth with price stability. Investors and financial institutions closely monitor the committee’s decisions, which can significantly influence market dynamics.

While the MPC meetings are closed-door sessions, the CBN encourages public awareness and transparency.

A post-meeting press release will summarise the committee’s decisions and provide insights into Nigeria’s monetary policy direction.
