Exonerate1: Did Italy also play with 5 defenders Italy played Jorginho beside Veratti, a proper midfield controller who is one of the best press resistant midfielders in the world and a very combative Barella... Italy were taken to extra time by Austria, scrapped past an injury ravaged Belgium, outplayed by Spain and needed penalties and against England also relied on penalties... |

swiz123: Every player can be criticized; even more after a painful defeat of which he failed to do his job. Jorginho had had two bad seasons prior to the last one. That's enough for any reasonable analyst to criticize him. However, I am not a sentimental human being who cling on to my opinion about someone even if they had become absurd. You are still of the opinion that Jorginho is useless and we can't compete with him even during his best moments as a footballer. You are afraid of what people would say if you had a change of opinion... Don't be a coward
Situations vary from time to time and so should one's opinion. Jorginho stood above criticism he was subjected to, showed character and proved everyone including myself wrong. For that, he has earned my praise. If that is what L means, then I wholely accept it. If all Chelsea players I have criticized can prove me wrong overtime, that would make me happy. Because at the end of the day, I am a Chelsea fan who wants the best for the club He has always maintained that the current Chelsea system mask the flaws of Jorginho, the old Jorginho is still there just that with the numbers you guys have behind the ball, it's hardly noticeable... By the way, after your unbiased analysis, has Jorginho improved or the system is to thank for his supposed marked improvement? |

Exonerate1: Jorginho, carry along? What’s difficult to understand there? If Tuchel trust Jorginho, he should switch to 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1...At the moment Chelsea plays 5 defenders and 2 holding midfielders plus Mount who is renowned for his hardwork...If you don't think 3 CBs, 2 wingers and another DM/B2B midfielder beside Jorginho helps covers his weakness then it's obvious you just started watching Chelsea... |

olabode89: Let him fail first!
Also what's the expectation for the season? What's defined as failure? The disrespect towards Ole is uncalled for and frustrating. The same man have thrashed them so called new age managers like Pep, Nagglesmann, Tuchel, etc on numerous occasions and he still gets no respect from fans, journalists and pundits.
The age of CMs creating chances or making key passes is dying out, creativity is slowly becoming a trait for fullbacks, wing backs and forwards. I get your points though, I just wish Ole gets more respect and support from fans on this thread. Nobody is disrespecting Ole. If you have followed the discussions here overtime, you'd have come across those who in defence of Ole think the squad is not good enough to win the EPL or top competitions, whilst some of us have always maintained that we have a squad good enough to do so. Those who think the squad is lacking in key positions in their submissions specifically highlighted the CB, RWF and DM position positing that until we get competent replacement for the players currently manning those positions we will continue to flatter to deceive. I and others who think Ole is not good enough agree that we desperately need a DM that's why we are quick to point it out now that Ole has himself come out to say he is okay with the sqaud (Although he says the same every other season) and any further addition is a bonus. It will be inexcusable if Ole fails to win at least one of the EPL, UCL or FA Cup whilst qualifying for the UCL...I am happy you have acknowledged the depth of the squad, we are all on the same page...If Ole fails, he should be booted out...At least the CB and RWF position has been fixed and fixed for good, if he says McTominay, Fred and Matic are enough, time will tell... |

GloryIsaac: Bro, he’s an employee, not a partner.
And guess what he did when his employers could no longer pay him
Well, if you run a business, you’re free to give your best employee over 60% of the revenue he generates for the company. Let’s see how long you last Are you trolling or what exactly? Should take your side of the story over what Laporta and Messi said? It's one thing to troll or banter, it's another thing to turn the truth on its head... |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by patrickmuf(m): 7:35pm On Aug 16, 2021 |
kokaneprodigy: Nothing personal, the fact remains Arteta priorities defence last season and still doing same before our eyes.
It’s simple Pareto analysis,
If I run a pure water factory and I’m faced with 3 problems at the moment.
1; my delivery truck is totally down and needs replacement 2; my generator is no longer serviceable and in Naija U can’t rely on NEPA. 3; my pure water line is running at 60% efficiency instead of 90% as designed. Needs some upgrades to be back at 90%.
I have limited resources which would I solve first?. You simply run a cause effect analysis to know which of the 3 if solved has the biggest positive impact on the business.
If I spend on delivery truck and there’s no power what will it deliver? If I spend on upgrading the plant to 90% how will it run if Nepa takes light.
The best decision in my current situation is to buy the generator, I can still lease a truck on a pay as you go basis, the line will run at 60% efficiency. With that I can still raise revenue to fix other issues at a later time. At least the factory won’t be grounded.
The club as business goofed with that decision and the results are there to prove it. instead of learning from their mistake we are back to doing same thing expecting different result.
Keep buying more CBs and see if we won’t be relegated, even championship Your army of CBs will not win it. I don't think any Arsenal here supports the purchase of Ben White from the post I have read here unless I have missed something but for Gabriel, I totally understand his purchase last season that's why I was forced to reply your comment after noticing your were still having a go at a section of the fan base that doesn't exist... That Ben White fee would've gotten you guys a good CAM but right now, you guys still need one and a winger too... |

Elsewhere, Umtiti, Busi, Alba, Roberto and Lenglet should have been shipped out or have their wages slashed because they're either past their best or simply not good enough...
