Obere4u:Interestingly, Ricardo over Wan-Bissaka, why if I may ask? Ayoze over Martial/Rashford? I don't agree. Soyuncu over Lindelof? Why not Evans over Maguire? |
If you think Leicester is better than we are and not because they have a better coach, please post your combined 11... |
MRTA7:Let's see your combined 11 please. |
tenmariner:Wow!!! Leicester City has a better team than us? Player for player or it's the good work of Rodgers at play? |
airmark: ![]() |
raumdeuter:When you start doing well you'll have people come up with excuses for your success. What you're on about (VAR) is akin to what you accuse others of doing when they say Pep is only winning because of the resources available to him. |
paafin:Are Manchester City and Liverpool players superhumans? The laziness of our players tire me I swear...If we press to much, all of them will get injured. |
globemoney:Are you aware that it's the same case for many PDP states? Don't limit your views to political parties. I'm sure the present governor will look forward to the same pension in 8 years time. We are not ready. |
It's ironical that majority of folks who are here complaining have the same law existing in their state but will rather look elsewhere...Everyone should tackle the rot in their respective state. |
You can forgive but never forget...If she comes back, accept her as your Bleep tool... |
Leyqute:Thank you...It's what we have been saying but some folks think we shouldn't criticize them because they are not exactly involved in the goals we concede. Van Dijk shits on Maguire every day. I am struggling to see that ball playing skills I saw when he was at Hull City and Leicester, I don't know if it's the pressure that's getting to him. When you watch Liverpool, Van Dijk is sure to ping at least 2-3 accurate long balls to Mane and Salah almost every game, some of them resulting to goals or goal scoring chances but Maguire will hang on the ball like he knows what he is doing. You are also right on the speed of his passes, only Rojo drills those ground passes like you would've come to expect from seasoned professionals. |
chrisley024:The point is; with Laporte out and Fernandinho/Otamendi in, City are weakened at the back. A much more conservative coach will think adding an extra body in defense (Stones-Otamendi-Fernandinho) will help tighten the otherwise weakened defense but no Pep, he is not afraid to trust Fernandinho and Stones to do the job against top teams talk less of when he is up against an opponent like Sheffield Utd. I remember that UCL final when he trusted Toure to play in CB against Manchester United. He believes more in enforcing his style of play which is what every top manager does... |
elrony:I really don't know why he opted for a more reserved approach. He had a formula that was working, why on earth did he change? |
Itsmedozie:When he made that sub, did it look like we were under any kind of threat? At the point he subbed Martial, the bookies favored us to get the 4th goal and that's the reason for the uproar. |
Leyqute:For a youngster, I was afraid whether or not he can keep a calm head. I am very sure Ole entertained same fear however, I don't know if it's because we were chasing the game or that Young is now confined to the bench that he didn't bother with the sub either way, I am glad Young didn't come in... In midfield, it's now Fred over Pereira who I think should be sold preferably to a team in La Liga. |
Leyqute:I feared for Williams after he entered the referees book but he kept a calm head through the entirety of the match. Does the benching of Young after the yellow to Williams signify his new role or is it because we were chasing the game? |
elrony:The pressing has to be coordinated. As the front 3 press, the midfield and defense are supposed push up making the field compact but in our case, it's either the front 3 us pressing and the midfield is static or the other way around. |
Itsmedozie:If we were on the back foot, nobody will complain but the opposite was the case yesterday, we had the initiative but Ole threw it away with that change which all but certainly sent negative signals to the players and encouraged Sheffield to come at us. |
paafin:Which is his strongest team? As far as I am concern, we should be taking 3 pts against Sheffield with or without Pogba and McTonimay...You don't spend over £130m on your defense only to concede 3 goals against Sheffield United. That's unacceptable. Klopp has won just one trophy but when you see Liverpool play, you know they're headed in the right direction... |
paafin:That game against Liverpool also saw Mane miss two clear cut chances but Sheffield United were impressive. The difference is in the way those teams approached the game against Sheffield compared to how we approached the game yesterday. Will Klopp or Pep opt for 3CBs against Sheffield? Even Manchester City with CB crises are not playing 3CBs to cover for their injury woes, Fernandinho is doing it along with Stones but Ole the winner of the Norwegian league thought otherwise... Before their opener yesterday, it was obvious their game plan was long balls to the channels in search for their strikers, they tried it twice before the goal and each time it caused us issues, Maguire and Jones were clearly struggling to cope but Ole sat they watching. When you watch City vs Chelsea, you'll see that City had to change their approach after the first 30mins or thereabout of the match to stop Chelsea from coming at them. At 2 vs 3, we were looking the sure bet to score the 4th goal but then Ole struck. If we were on the back foot, I'd have okayed that sub but we weren't. For the 3rd Sheffield goal, Maguire and Tuanzebe didn't know who was suppose to be marking the goal scorer. |
codedguy1:If Ole wasn't a club legend, he wouldn't have gotten the support he is getting from guys like Paafin. He he come out to explain why he started with 5 defenders? Fergie with the squad yesterday would've walloped Sheffield United. |
elrony:Common bro you should by now understand that when we press higher up the pitch we recover the ball in dangerous positions and our striker have more freedom with galloping fullbacks and our midfielders pushed forward |
elampiro:If it was Ole won't he had lacked up shop when we were leading 3 vs 2 against Spurs? He'd mostly like think of getting the team back to shape but Fergie thought it was better we killed the game with the momentum on our hands. |
Elrony, the same front 3 came alive when the set up was right. How come Wan-Bissaka pushed forward, Williams pushed up, Maguire and Lindelof were positioned in midfield allowing Fred and Lingard to press forward helping us recover possession quicker thus having them pegged back. How come the same front 3 were more active and were involved in all our goals? What changed? Now take a good look at the set up and tell me you don't prefer seeing our fullbacks joining the attack along with midfielder creating more space. It isn't rocket science na. |
odizeey:Thank you... |
larride:Saw it coming...Ole too should be sacked...We can't be Manchester United yet approaching games with Cardiff City mentality... |
And please stop saying Maguire didn't put a foot wrong, he hides front eh action. It's Lindelof you're always seeing dealing with trouble or committing to tackles while Maguire sit there doing absolutely nothing... At 2 vs 3 we were on the ascendancy with no threat of an equalizer why make a change that encourages them to come at us? Even Martial was surprised. At 2 vs 3 we looked more likely to score the 4th goal of the game but Ole was too quick to fall back. That man has mediocrity written all over him. With SAF, we were losing 2 vs 0 against Tottenham and baba went full blown ballistic, Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez and Berbatov were all on the pitch the same time akin to today but the difference is that SAF stuck to his decision and the game ended 5 vs 2 or 3, we won...Similar circumstances today but the coward opted to protect a one goal lead against fvcking Sheffield United... |
footiemaniac:Guy abeg stop insulting our common sensibilities...That starting 11 was bad and as regards switching positions, it's only normal that with Greenwood on the pitch, James had to move to the left that's not tactics. That late sub was Ole showing mediocrity. Sheffield United were on the back foot thus the sub was needless. You only make that sub when you see that you're coming under increasing pressure... |
Ole is a fool. You starting 11 invited pressure, you conceded 2 goals and in the second half, you made the necessary adjustments and back to lead 2 vs 3 and next, your substitution shows clearly that you are inviting pressure. Worse case scenario, bring in a midfielder... Ole is a fool... |
How do you guys who were trying to rubbish Poch feel watching this match? And some folks said Ole was better for winning the Norwegian league...I think I have to go back to that argument and take note of those monikers, no need engaging them again.. |
Ole is a fool who spends over £130m on his defense when the midfield is obviously weak... |
Afrodoc2, I said we will lose possession in midfield with those 2 and it's happening. Ole is stupid, instead of covering that lose midfield with Jones at the base like you suggested, he's playing with 3CBs. Jones should be replaced by Lingard or Greenwood at the start of the 2nd half... Meanwhile, Elampiro what exactly do you expect those strikers to do in DHIS set up? You watch Man City and Liverpool play week in week out and you come here to say our strikers should be doing it all by themselves...I tire for you. See Sheffield United midfielders and fullbacks galloping forward but no, Martial, Rashford and James should do it all by themselves... |
