Jobs/VacanciesRe: Self Employment Opportunity: Transcribing For A Living In Nigeria Part 1 by PattyMike(m): 10:29am On Nov 11, 2019
HIGHESTPOPORI:
This thread is a gold mine,i would soon graduate. My question is if we can transcribe words like Ehen, Urm, cos i hear things like that? Am stil getting a 2,just started.
I made similar mistakes and learned from them small small. So it's crucial u learn from your mistakes. Sometimes even after reading the guidelines you might still not understand. Here's what I learned so far.
*Sometimes in calls when they're talking money you might hear just 200, 150, 20. They won't say for example 200 dollars(which will be written as $200) Instead they can just say 200. But always put the $ sign when they're talking finances irrespective of them mentioning $ or not.
* The fact that you're scoring 2s meaning you're actually doing good. You just need to take more time to correct your transcripts before submitting. Minor mistakes like using (i instead of I), no space after comma, minor spelling errors you didn't even know you made, always use capital letter with names(Samuel, Ebuka, John not samuel, ebuka, john).
* Very important use capital letter to start name of company e.g (Funding Circle not funding circle not Funding circle), Penn Foster etc. Also always check the grossary for things you might hear and don't know how to spell or how to write it down.
* Don't type out uh-huh, hmm-mm unless it's an answer to a direct question. E.g Rep: Have you paid for this service? Customer: Uh-huh. DO not transcribe yep, nope, nah, dunno(should be written as don't know.), gotcha(should be written as got you), Alright is All right.
*Always transcribe out phone number in full irrespective of interruption in the middle. E.g NOT: Cust: phone is 123. Rep: Yes. Cus: 456. Rep: yes. Cus: 789. SHOULD BE Cust: Phone number is 123-456789.
* Email should be written normally don't write dotcom. It should be .com
* Lastly the goal of your script should be that it's readable and neat. READABLE and NEAT. Don't necessarily type out what you hear if what you hear isn't going to be neat or bad Grammer. E.g avoid unnecessary So, like, you know. E don dey too much for one speaker just ignore it. Correct bad Grammar if it doesn't make sense as long as it doesn't change the content of what the speaker is trying to say e.g Instead of I will soon be going to my house write I will soon go to my house. Instead of e.g I will get on it be starting it. Write I will get on it and start it. Sometimes speakers speak very poor English, it's your Job to make your script readable, neat and clear.

Go through the guidelines very necessary and know how to use the eclipses ... The inaudible [...] And the restricted information [/].

Finally don't rush yourself take its slow and steady. Slow the audio down and cross-check it twice and you read the script yourself. Even if it's a minute you do for the whole day and pass with (3,4 or 5) you will feel a sense of accomplishment and confidence will increase. Don't look at the board and feel pressure or put pressure on yourself by rushing and going through minutes like eba. Giving yourself deadlines. Don't rush at all. Every name there grew slow and steady. In a two or three months you wey dey score 2s fit see your name there.

IMPORTANTER: Don't ever mislabel speaker if nah customer talk no write am as rep. If this is your mistake forget all I said and work on your focus grin

Def if I didn't read the first 5 pages there's no way I'll open a PayPal or register on QA myself. I read up 7 or 9 before I stopped. The africard is on the first page but my brain didn't assimilate that part. I skipped it unintentionally. Honest mistake and I could have been told to check the beginning of the thread but gbas gbos from NL transcribers.

Something similar happened to me and I was crucified here and called lazy for missing a crucial information out of haste. A naija PayPal will not even receive payment talkless of cashing out.

I do just fine with the calls infact I recently did 18mins and aced it with a 5 grin(wasn't easy at all for a newbie like myself). But thanks for your concern though I'll be fine. I'm from Akwa Ibom and our people have a saying. "Stranger wey ask for direction no go miss road".

Simple instructions, but most people won't follow. If dy say read from page 1, laziness will creep in. The reason why this thread is not on whatsaap (according to my ogas) was for just for one important reason, one can see all the answers to his/her questions. I know why most old members don't stress themselves in answering some questions cos it's not worth it. You know dy right thing to do, you won't do it o, but you'll still come and start asking irrelevant questions. Once I see an irrelevant question, I'll just direct you to page 1. I hate laziness.
You again. Thanks I read through it though. I didn't see the Africard thing but you should not put people down with things you say. Unfortunately so much egomaniacs on this thread. The man who opened this thread was very patient with everybody even with irrelevant questions. U can't expect me to read 185 pages.

You are not opening a UBA account. You just need to get their Africard. Go with a passport photo and your ID to get it same day, but make sure you tell them that you want the international one

You can actually use your MasterCard and other banks Visa cards or even virtual cards to withdraw to your bank account but we have found out that the Africard works best.

You can start work right away after opening the Lesotho or UAE PayPal even before adding your card. You can even start before opening your PayPal account. All you need do is indicate the email you will be using for the paypal account on the platform and start work. If the paypal account is yet to be opened and you get sent a payment, paypal will send you a notification mail. It is just advisable that you get it all up and running before you start.
Thankfully our Pioneer helped break it down.

AdeeT:
sad sad cry

I've betrayed her trust, I have really hurt her, I wish that I could undo all I've done. But it's too late, and I'm reek of guilt, it's all over me.

I just cheated on a beautiful lady that has stayed with me through thick and thin for years, a wonderful soul that anyone would dream to have. Cheating might be a common thing, but the moment you cheat on a pure soul, an innocent woman that gives you all, WITH HER BEST FRIEND, then it's beyond cheating.

I am charming, good looking working class guy, guys and girls easily comment how good looking I am, my fiancee is so proud of me, and my achievements that she easily shows me off at the slightest opportunity. She attended the same Uni with her friend, and ever since then, they've been a very good friend. They even served at the same place(worked out), to show you how close they her.

Now my fiancee works in the southern Nigeria, we planned to seal things up next year, and live together here in Abuja. Her friend came for a job interview here, and my woman advised that she rather stay with me for the period instead of her spending a lot on hotel accommodations since I live alone in a bedroom flat. I obliged, and she came down here, little did I know that things would get messy. Long story cut short, I fell in to her seduction the second night of her staying after some series of events. We ended up having sex couples of time before she left. I feel terrible now, though she felt nothing, I can't even flow well with my woman on phone again, guilt is all over me. I don't know how I will stand her whenever we meet. Of all girls in the world, she's the least anyone would want to cheat on.

I'm thinking of telling her. Mind you guys, I'm not a weakling, I've never been one. Before I met her some 3 years back, I was on the other end of life. She changed a lot for good for me, and helped stop many bad things, as well as starting several good ones. I don't know what her reaction would be after telling her. Her friend still communicates with her as if nothing happened.

I'm in pain guys. A serious one. I need advices.
My man Christiano. The honest truth is "Men Cheat". It's our nature we can't help it, we can sleep with another woman while our heart belongs to another. So, don't feel too bad about it. You're not a failure, you're not a horrible person, you did not cheat on her cus she is not yet your wife. Believe me if you confess to her she will confess to you too and are you ready for whatever you might hear? Do not trust women! I repeat! Do not trust women. She can pray for you with the same mouth she used in sucking dvck last night. But if truly she is a pure soul like you said then keep your mouth shut and take it to the grave. She will never trust you again if you tell her you cheated and she will also cut off things with her best friend. Don't Ignore that friend or your babe will notice. Infact I advice that you should be besties with her friend and forget you guys ever had sex. You cheated once and you will cheat again unfortunately. We can't help it.

Almost three days now my call has not been rated. The one I did yesterday afternoon sef the same thing. It's unlike them the highest it's happened to me is a full day and they'll surely rate it. Also I'm seeing dollar card etc. Is it necessary? I linked my Gtbank MasterCard to my PayPal, though I first tried linking my UBA MasterCard with my naija PayPal. The thing said card declined pls contact your financial institution abi bank. I didn't know it got declined because I used my UBA account and it was empty because I didn't want to risk it, sometime wey I no know before. I transfered 1k to my UBA and tried it again, this time they temporarily deducted $1.92 and linked the mastercard to my naija PayPal. With South African PayPal I linked with Gtbank MasterCard and they deducted the same charges and returned it back under 72 hours. Though I haven't withdrawn my funds but it's linked. So, I don't think there will be any problems when I want to withdraw cus it will be exchanged according to PayPal currency rate because they also did the same when dey deducted. So, it would be the same when they're paying and also I think MasterCard is accepted as a form of payment world wide. E no mean if nah Gtbank MasterCard or if nah Wells Fargo Master card.

Use this calculation to pick less accented american calls. That is the magic most of us use.
Also, download technical keyboard or hacker's keyboard from playstore. These keyboards have the special functions as found on any computer keyboard. These special function keys are shortcuts to slow/speed up the audio file you're working on. e.g. f1 slows down the audio file, while f2 speeds it up.
The new web layout out does that already nah abi e still need?
