Plagiarism is a big issue in most universities abroad (particularly in the UK, Australia, Canada, and the United States). There is also greater emphasis on academic rigour, accurate and comprehensive referencing, and overall quality of academic work in these countries than what you would find in Nigerian schools.

It's hard to imagine that our services would be valued or suitably appreciated/remunerated in Nigeria's shameful 'copy and paste' system where both students and academic staff are implicated.

That is quite a damning assessment of what we do here in Nigeria. While I agree with you for the most part, I must say quite a few good schools in the country still hold dear those prized ethos that characterize academic work and research. Its all well though. Thanks.

Fantastic questions if you ask me. As a science lab technician , you have to be extremely careful in your job, taking into consideration even the minutest of details. I say he's done very well to teach you guys a basic and fundamental art of the trade- paying attention to details!

I'm currently doing my coursework in one of the Nigerian Universities in Electrical Power Systems. Considering the constraints of time, money and difficulty in assessing materials/equipment needed for research in Nigeria, I'd appreciate if you all learned folks especially those who have passed through this hurdle, kindly assist me with a "do-able" research area/topic that one can do considering all the constraints listed above. I'm fully aware of the implications of plagiarism and do not intend to copy or reproduce an already made work done somewhere else. I could of course improve on a previous work if its possible.
