TravelRe: Visa Denial: How Did You Cope With The Pain Of Denial? by paulavon(op): 10:24am On Jul 01, 2018
Thanks for relating your experience. It is not easy to move on after being denied twice. But giving up on your American dream was quite fast though.
pp802:
I have been denied twice! The first wasn't that bad cos I was still in the University(3rd year) and it was on a friend's invitation.

The 2nd was like hell. I drank to stupor. I gave up on my American dream! The most painful part was that, it was a blood's invitation......the same mama n papa!

I've gotten over it now.
TravelVisa Denial: How Did You Cope With The Pain Of Denial? by paulavon(op): 9:32am On Jul 01, 2018
I am creating this thread for those who had been denied visa before to share their experiences about how they felt and was able to move on with their lives after they were denied Visa.

Here is mine;
I got a US study visa denial by December,2017, but the effect of that 5mins interview is yet to go away. After spending lots of money on school application fee, Sevis fee, courier charges, Visa fee,etc and spending months to prepare for the interview, it took less than 5mins for all to go down the drain.
Standing in front of the VO after the news of my denial, I was just stunned, with lots of things going through my mind. I felt rejected and dejected, I have never been meant to feel that way in my whole life.
Returning home from Lagos to my city empty handed was even more painful. It was a long and tortuous journey. Frustration and depression made the journey farther than it ought to be.
Moving on was really difficult for me, whenever I think of the incident it affects my mood and makes me feel sad.

I know a lot of people have been through this road before, it would be nice to share your experience so that others can learn.

SportsRe: Chelsea And Sarri Reportedly Agree On A Two-year Deal by paulavon: 3:39pm On May 26, 2018
No one is ungrateful here, I have been a Chelsea fan since 2003 and I have seen managers come and leave.Conte has lost it already, if is left as the coach he will ruin Chelsea next season. He let good players like Diego costa, Matic, Mikel and brought in nitwits like Morata, Bakayoko, Drinkwater and Giroud. He kept putting Willian on the bench and refused to play David luis, he preferred an inexperienced player like Christensen who was responsible for most of our loses this season. If conte is not sacked we stand the risk of losing Hazard, willian, coutuois and other good players.

ShinyJay22:
I just tire for some ungrateful fans that just want to chase Conte away by all means necessary.
I have a question for these set of Chelsea fans.My question is did Chelsea give the man (Conte) all the players he requested for? And please don't tell me about the Costa debacle.Fine, Conte was a bit immature by sending Costa that mean message but we seem to forget that he (Costa) had nearly destabilized the team en route to winning the premier league that season with his useless tantrums about the Chinese team courting him.Conte may be at fault but he should not totally take the blame. The board should take a bulk of the blame because the coach clamoured for experience and instead the board brought in untested players. So #IStandWithConte

Take the photocopies and originals of those documents that need certification to any high court, they will certify them for you at N300 each.
The purpose of evaluation was for critical skill Visa.
I am yet to get the evaluation, it is currently in Nigeria with the courier agency, Maybe by Monday.

prodam:
paulavon, How you dey boss? Thanks for the info given on this SAQA evaluation.

How did u even do your certification of the photocopied documents.??

What did you specify as the purpose of the evaluation online?

What's up with the result of your evaluation?

Regards.

thankfulsoul:
Thanks,i think SAQA doesn't accept online/scanned documents anymore. I have to courier the documents to them, pls anyone in the house applied for SAQA evaluation recently? I want to know the procedures thank you..
What you require is to certify photocopies of your Bachelor's degree certificate, Transcript and Data page of your international passport at any high court. You need to fill the application online at the SAQA website, download the consent form and application form. You fill those two forms. You proceed to pay the SAQA fee with your card, I was charged around N39,500. A confirmation receipt will be sent to your email, you need to print it out, it is your proof of payment.

You later send the following documents through courier to the SAQA office in South Africa;
1. Certified copy of your BSC certificate
2. Certified copy of your transcript
3. certified copy of your international passport data page
4. consent form
5. Application form
6. proof of payment
7. A copy of your CV

I sent my documents to SAQA around April 20th and just last week Friday I got a mail that my Evaluation is ready. i hope to receive it this week. I wish you all the best.

It's true I said so. Jobs are now sold. Sorry for the unavailability of enough jobs in the county, right measures are taken to remedy that. You'll receive your appointment letter. Since #200,000 is involved and one might be afraid to loose his money (that's normal) so your free to involve the security force or a lawyer. Am in Abuja. So are you in any questions?

Pls house just a quick one, I initially scheduled my appointment for 9th January but I noticed 29th December is now available and I intend to reschedule. But the information on the page is quite confusing. I am scared of rescheduling and having to pay another Visa fee.

Schedule Consular Appointment

Applicants for U.S. visas are required to appear in person for a visa interview at the U.S. Embassy/Consulate. Please schedule an appointment for an interview.
If you cancel this appointment, then you will have exceeded the limit of appointments canceled, and will not be able to schedule another appointment until another MRV fee has been paid.

Your current appointment is scheduled for 01/09/2018 at 06:30

Visa delayed AGAIN at the Lagos Embassy.

It happened like a mirage
. Though VO was sharing BLUE PAPER like cabin biscuit to all the guys before me. But truth is, they weren't responding fine and when it got to my turn, I approached him smiling. Though I am yet to explain what happened to me cos I was really balling like it was hot...

VO: Hello good morning.
Me: Good morning Sir? How was your night.
VO: Am fine thank you. Pass me your passport and i-20.
Me: Here it is. (Passed it).
VO: So where are you going to?
Me: I am going to TAMUK, Texas to pursue my masters degree in Mathematics and Statistics with a concentration in Statistical Analytics, Computing and Modelling.
VO: okay? How many schools did you apply to?
Me: I applied to 3 schools. TAMUK, Indiana University and McNesse State University.
VO: so why did you choose TAMUK over Indiana?
Me: TAMUK is a research University and has great research facilities which include the Javelina Algebra Lab which is the computer classroom for my department and the James C. Jeernigan Library which is one of the largest libraries in Texas and I believe having access to such research facilities will be a great boost as it will broaden my academic horizons.
VO: Nodding his head like agama lizard.
Me: (continued) also, in my quest to know more about the school, I downloaded the official school's app which keeps me up to date with happenings in the school.
In addition to this, I developed a good relationship with Professor.... (VO cuts in).
VO: When did you graduate?
Me: November 2011.
VO: What is your highest qualification?
Me: I hold a bachelor's in Computer Science.
VO: So since after school, what have you been doing?
Me: After school, I served and then got a job at xyz bank as a Service Executive. I am an ATM custodian and my roles are blablabla...

VO: nods his head again and ask So why masters?
Me: Sorry?
VO: I said, why do you wanna pursue a masters?
Me: Well, the prospects and opportunities for this course are extremely high in Nigeria and their is a lack of professionals...
VO cuts in: What do you mean by prospects?
Me: Job prospects.
VO: Oh? Okay?
Me (continues): For example, big data and analytics which is one of the courses I will study at TAMUK is relatively new here in Nigeria and experts in the field are hard to source.
(VO again nodding continuously like agama)
Me (continued). Companies here in Nigeria who need the services of big data analysts have no other choice but to hire expatriate professionals from other technologically advanced countries like the US....

VO now nodding harder and harder..

Me: (now feeling like a don jazzy singing ogbeni feli feli continues)...and there is the need to..... (I went blank. Mind you, i never crammed this o. I was flowing and VO was nodding his head and all of a sudden I forgot what I was saying entirely and where i was drivinf at.)

VO was still nodding his head and looking at me ooooo and with the expression in his face, was like, hey? Whatsup nah? Continue, am enjoying the gist...

Me: (I opened my mouth to talk, but nothing came out. Hey? I was doomed....) huh

VO: angry

Me: (stammering....) Am sorry sir....

VO: Just calm down. Take your time.

Me: (Just like Danfo wey dey push down a hill I pick up).... and studying this course will equip me with the analytical and technical skills needed to flourish as a data analyst and will help me fill the gap for a lack of indigenous big data analysts in my country.

VO: (indifferent) Have you travel out of the country before?
Me: No. I have not had any need to.
VO: Who is your sponsor?
Me: My dad.
VO: What does he do?
Me: he is into haulage, supply and distribution of petroleum products. He also owns petrol stations here in Lagos and Aba angry

VO: Are you married?
Me: No, but am engaged.

VO: brings out the devilish love letter from the devil's mailbag)... Am sorry you do not qualify....

Me: (goes deaf)... but summoned courage to ask, BUT WHAT WENT WRONG THIS TIME? (I expected him to say that yeye paper will explain but he said something else).

VO; Am sorry, you failed to convince me you are a genuine student. angry

Me: angry thank you.
VO: Have a nice day grin

Without being told, I know I screwed up when I off like say them press my remote from village....

All the same, I wish my people well... Mercybliss, I will sincerely miss u from the depth of my heart. @Tosin baba, represent us well. TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 13 by paulavon: 11:48am On Dec 13, 2017
There is no point arguing, if you want to get your Visa approval you need to do your home work very well.
It is true that community colleges are quite affordable but you should not be telling the Vo that your main reason for choosing the community college is because of cost.

You should explain that with the small class size and elementary level of learning at CC it will enable you achieve success in your studies. You will be able to obtain the necessary prerequisites and credit to transfer to a top university to obtain your BSC.
Niv25:
so are you saying that someone who can't afford the universities can't comfortably get an F1 visa for community college...and I see no reason why you compare the community college in the US with the polytechnics in Nigeria...am sure the are far better than the once we have here. since I can't afford the universities I intend getting an associate degree which I can use in applying for universities to get my bachelor's degree...that saves money. and I believe one of the major reason why community colleges are established is for those who can't afford the universities. So why will a VO delay my visa only because I applied to community colleges and why are there more international students in some community colleges

@Lagosismyhome I really need your advice on this ma'am..I already sent you a PM please reply me
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 13 by paulavon: 7:40pm On Dec 12, 2017
There are lots of good community colleges in Texas you can apply to in addition to HCC. Through ApplyTexas the applications are free so why will you apply to just one school? You can take a look at Lee college, Texas state technical college and San Jacinto college.
Niv25:
hello guys...I intend starting my application by January next year...and I intend applying to only one community college which is HCC...I hope that won't be a problem..after making my inquiries and research I made up my mind to go with the school...I hope that won't raise a suspicion..Again I intend applying with my high school results...pls I you guys advice and suggestion..
