Hoping to get some info. Nice thread
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by paulavon: 10:05am On Sep 03, 2018
It is required that you provide all the needed documents in that list. There is no short cut. If you must travel you must take your time to plan and ensure you submit genuine documents.
If your friend his accomodating you then he needs to provide you his proof of residence. It will be easier for you to just book a hotel without paying and use it for your application, when you get your visa you can decide to live with your friend.
If your friend is sponsoring your trip,he should send you his bank statement with letter of sponsorship for you to submit along side other documents.

All the info you need are in the SA VFS website, just take your time and read it. Check the link below;

http://www.vfsglobal.com/southafrica/nigeria/relative.html

Just a quick one, The accompanying spouse need to apply for relative Visa and submit separate application.Yellow fever card is not required for children below 10yrs, their immunization card is used.Their birth certificate is required also.

sething:
Hello Gurus in the house.
Please l need some clarifications on the following as follows:

Firstly,
What are the steps and requirements for Accompanying Spouse Visa to SA? A family is planning to join the principal Applicant who has a work visa in South Africa.
Which form are they going to fill for the visa?
Are they going to fill different form each?

Secondly,
Is the Yellow Fever Certificate applicable to children between age 6 to 11 years? If not what do they required to take along (children)?

Thirdly,
Any other relevant information regarding the above will be appreciated.

Thanks and looking forward to response.

I did not join IITPSA, i am not an IT professional, but i know the timeline will not be up to that of SAQA.
prodam:
Oh! I see, Thanks Boss. Mine is in transit, already got the electronic version.

Meanwhile, how long did it take you to get your professional body registration done? I am asking cos SAQA really took time and I read somewhere that IITPSA takes more time.

Thanks again.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by paulavon: 8:16am On Aug 31, 2018
SACPCMP is a good alternative, it is related to your work field. I know some engineers who got their CSV with it. It is the statutory body recognized by SAQA for construction and project management professionals. Do not waste your time with ECSA,go ahead with SACPCMP.

TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by paulavon: 6:49am On Aug 31, 2018
You need your SAQA to apply to most of their universities for studies. You also need it when applying for jobs or professional bodies.SAQA is very important.
prodam:
Aside CSV, is there any other benefit of obtaining the SAQA evaluation?

Would want someone to let us know a few other opportunities available for holders of this evaluation.

Thanks.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by paulavon: 10:10pm On Aug 30, 2018
It is compulsary,check the checklist
DadR:
Ok thank you. I was thinking it shouldn't be compulsory to submit a booked ticket since it's a Critical Skill Visa and not a tourist or study visa.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by paulavon: 10:05pm On Aug 30, 2018
ECSA do make use of credit card payment, please check the site very well. The registration fee is different from the certificate evaluation fee. They do not accept evaluation done by SAQA,they like conducting their own evaluation. ECSA registration is quite stressful, though am an engineer but i registered with occupational health and safety professional body, which is my current job position. I did not complete my ECSA registration process. You just have to look for any of the professional bodies that is related to your field and easy to register.

odigiri1983:
Please kindly advise me on the medium to pay registration fee for ECSA application? Can't see where to use card transfer. Also, clarify to me if registration fee is different from the assessment fee? Thanks, hoping to see your response.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by paulavon: 9:45pm On Aug 30, 2018
Use a booked return flight ticket for your application. You don't have to pay for the flight yet. After you have gotten your Visa you can choose to fly with oneway or return ticket.
DadR:
OK. I was asking if the ticket was included in your brother's application for CSV.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by paulavon: 9:55pm On Aug 25, 2018
You need to certify your degree certigicate and send it along with the completed form. ECSA will need to evaluate your degree and tell you the right professional designation you qualify for. You are required to pay their fees for registration and evaluation of your degree.
luvluvluv:
Tnx alot for this

I just downloaded the form as a candidate engr. But I don't understand the info they demand.
Eg I was asked exams passed. Am I attaching anything to the form? Is there a court procedure also?

Pls kindly guide me tru so I can conclude this soonest.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by paulavon: 8:03am On Aug 25, 2018
The professional body for engineers in SA is called ECSA, you can browse about them and see their requirements. You can apply as a candidate engineer or professional certificated engineer. The process takes about 3-4months so you need to start early.

luvluvluv:
Hello people, anyone applies for critical skill visa as an engineer?
Can I joined an engineering society(NSE) now and apply for critical skill imidiately?

Sorry man that your Visa was denied. Why will the agent submit a fake SAQA for you, it barely takes one month and few weeks for you to get your SAQA evaluation.I am afraid to say it will be difficult for you to obtain any other Visa to SA, you must have been blacklisted.

habby007:
So I tracked my visa application available for pick up and application was rejected only because of a forged SAQA evaluation I will never use an agent again please who has an insight into this can I apply for visit or tourist without any qualms?

I love the German national anthem, it is a tune of a Catholic Hymn.

Germany Die Deutsche Nationalhymne. German anthem is a church tune

England..God save the Queen

South Africa

Nigeria

Spain.

Tunes, lyrics...
Most national anthems are adopted from patriotic wartime songs when they're going to battles.

The cost of renewal of your passport is same as getting a new one.

But I was told they have only the 64 pages available and that the cost of producing a new one is the same with the cost of an expired pass.

You are right, a lot of people traveling for genuine reasons are denied for no reason.
Migration is not a crime, more Indians and Chinese are leaving their countries for Us and Canada.

Thank you for your response. In the application form where you are asked to state your Available funds, are you expected to have in your account statment your departure/return flight fee, hotel fee, maintenance fee and other funds you need to settle down with in SA before you get a job?if not, will 300k account statement be okay?
geekybabe:
At least enough to cover for a return ticket. About 3k to 5k rands equivalent
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by paulavon: 8:53pm On Jul 07, 2018
What is the minimum amount one needs to have in his account statement in other to apply for the critical skill visa?
geekybabe:
If you don't av an offer from SA yet, you don't need any undertaken from letter from any employer.
Simply apply with the form, radiological and medical report, certified yellow fever and passport data pages , your bank statement, a letter of self introduction, a proof of membership with Iitpsa, a proof of your critical skills issued by iitpsa, certified copies of your credentials degrees and certifications, attach your Resume, a page of the home affairs gazette that includes your named critical skill. Attach any motivation letters from any current employers or referree. You'll also need to attach saqa certificate, Nigerian police clearance. I think I have tried. Make sure your resume and degrees relate to the said critical skill.

Then make the application. You'll be issued a one year critical skills visa once your documentation is valid.

Thanks for sharing your story, it is quite depressing if you get denied Visa, when you actually felt deep down that you stood a chance to get it.
Your case was even better that you flew to Lagos, what if you had travelled all the way from Owerri to Lagos by bus and got denied, the journey back home will be hellish.

Justwise pls move this thread to front page

MissJoy29:
Mine should be in 2014 or so. I was to go for to Maryland on a tourist visa.

But things started going wrong from the beginning for that day. In fact from the day before.
The journey from Owerri to Lagos was sooooo turbulent. I don't know how I didn't die of fear that day coupled with the fact that I have acute phobia for flying. Everyone was busy singing and Praying. And there were two Nollywood celebrities with us that day. I even took pics with them(me that I no dey take eye see reasonable celebrities). Eventually, when we landed, everyone was clapping. It was that bad.

My interview time was to be 9am on that day but I got to the embassy around 11. I was so angry at the person that drove me, the rains, the traffic. When I got there, they allowed me in. I was vetted and led into the hall. In there, I was so nervous. I kept monitoring the officers that were rejecting people more and Prayed never to be interviewed by them. Meanwhile, I had this faith in the preparations I did before then. You see, I have a lot of people around that have travelled. So I got first hand advice from them. I had all the right papers. I have travelling experience. What more? But how wrong I was.

I was the very last person to be interviewed for that day. In fact, by the time the guy was interviewing me, the other ones were already packing up to go. You could see from my interviewer that he was disinterested and probably tired. Because of that, he wasn't asking the right questions. He didn't even look at my papers. I was filled with dread when I sensed what was going to happen. I almost started begging him to look at my papers. I was supplying information he didn't even ask but were relevant. Chai. It didn't move him.

At last, he gave me my passport back with that white paper in it that contains information about your denial. I was dead inside. I held myself. How I even relayed the information to the people over there waiting for the news I will never know. I felt cheated cos I wasn't interviewed properly. I wasn't given a fair chance. That made the sadness unbearable.

I got home & put on my thinking cap. I started wondering what would have happened if I had got there at my right time. I also started remembering everything I planned doing when I get there. Devastation is an understatement for how I felt. The tears just burst out from where I locked them and flowed freely.
TravelRe: South African Man Publicly Insults Nigerians and this happened by paulavon: 6:37am On Jul 04, 2018
One cannot really fault his comments on Nigerians, He said the obvious truth. It is quite sad that despite the good number of smart and intelligent Nigerians available, the country is being ruled by some of the worst minds.
The country remains underdeveloped because a section of the country preferred it so. They are afraid to compete in a true federal structure. They keep claiming educational backward region while enjoying good university admission quota. They also designed federal character for their benefit.
I don't understand why different regions will generate power and send them to the national grid to be redistributed. Why not allow different states to generate its electricity based on their resources and use it within the state?
The citizens will continue to suffer embarrassment and insults from other African countries due to bad leadership.

hi paulavon,

How was your certification from SAQA, have you gotten feedback from them/ Which courier agency did u use and its how much?

TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by paulavon: 9:51pm On Jul 02, 2018
As regards the critical skill Visa, I thought one just needs evidence of proof of funds of R3000. In your opinion what is the minimum amount you think one should have in his statement?

Geenosko:
So long as they are a legal entity and can give you a valid employment contract indicating the you fall under the critical skill permit category , you are good to go. You can even apply for critical skills without job offer so long as you can provide proof of funds to sustain your self for one Year.

It's best you apply from Nigeria.
Change of status on a visitors visa is extremely difficult.

Go to home affairs website, read the requirements and package your application well and you are good to go.

Sorry about your denial, I understand how it feels. Travel history is important but not necessary. Other factors count as well with some element of luck.

Thanks for sharing your story and for encouraging others not to give up in their Visa pursuit.

I have been denied twice in my life, but I have a US visa now.
First was a UK visa, six years ago. I was very young. I cried and said I was never gon try again. I got my mind off visiting any western country.
Second time was in January. US denied me in Abj. I felt so bad, my chest pained me for days cos I was very confident I'd get it.A lady friend advised me to try again .

I decided to give it one last try. Same info. Same purpose, but a more confident me. I went with an open mind." If this fails , I count my loss and go home ''. In all honesty, I didn't hope this time. I was blown away when my visa was approved . This life ehn. Sometimes, when we lose faith, the unexpected happens . I don't know if it's luck or the way it's been designed to happen.
*my 2nd interview was in lag*

You can try again, guys.
