FamilyRe: Can A Matured Person Who Doesn't Indulge In Social Vices Be Termed Abnormal? by paulavon(op): 4:10pm On Sep 30, 2021
What I meant was that, I am not really moved or influenced by money, I am contented with the little I have. It is not a do or die matter for me.
Some people will tell you that " money matter I no dey use am play oh"
mariahAngel:
When you say I don’t crave for money, what does that mean?
How is that a vice?
FamilyCan A Matured Person Who Doesn't Indulge In Social Vices Be Termed Abnormal? by paulavon(op): 2:15pm On Sep 30, 2021
I was having a conversation with a lady and two guys a couple of days ago, and in the course of the conversation I told them I rarely drink alcohol (just a bottle of Heineken in a month or two), I don't smoke, I don't womanize and I don't crave for money.
I was told that I wasn't normal, that an average man must indulge in one or two of those vices.

I will people to share their opinions on this.

PoliticsRe: Why Did The Southern Senators In The House Allow Them Pass The PIB? by paulavon: 9:14am On Jul 06, 2021
Why did the useless senator Sekibo withdraw his point of order to compel the Senate president to carry out the vote again since the Senate president was biased in the voice vote?

The fact is that most of these southern Senators have been stained and entangled in one corrupt act or the other, they have therefore lost their voice. They will be threatened with EFCC if they decide to speak against such bills.

asobo1:
It's high time our legislative chambers go for electronic voting and dump this nonsense voice vote. During the PIB debate, Distinguish Senator Sekibo drew the attention of the Senate President in respect to voice vote for and against the increment of the 3% for oil communities. All what the senators who voted against it did was to shout it out loud but it was visible that those in support of the motion were way higher than the naysayers. I was disappointed that a northern senator alleged that Distinguish Senator Sekibo was trying to divide the Senate along religion/ethnic line which was very disappointing and hypocritical on the part of the senator. It was disheartening that southern senators were quite while this nincompoop of a senator was casting aspersions on Distinguish Senator Sekibo. Southern Nigerians you are your problem. Shikenan.

Please update us, I am really interested in the performance of the Nexus as compared to Haier Thermocool.

Kongrats:
I was about buying 3 thermocool freezers today when I remembered our chats. I just paid for one 319L thermocool (225k but got 10% Black Friday discount) and got two Nexus freezers 320L for 155k each. I have not carried them though but I'll surely update on the performances especially if someone reminds me by quoting me.

This doesn't make any sense at all. I find it funny that the building his church is currently occupying in Sapele road, Benin city, is under rentage. The church leased the building and pays rent.
Most pastors are filled with contradictions.

TravelRe: Suggest A Country For Me To Travel To Work by paulavon: 6:37pm On May 05, 2020
Somebody with first class should not be writing these. Please take time to surf the internet, there are scholarship opportunities for fìrstclass graduates in different countries. PHD in finland is tuition free.

Acmepreneur:
Hello Nairalanders!
I'm an MSC holder with very good grades in both MSC and Bsc. I'm just tired of applying for jobs here in Nigeria, I'm a first class graduate and MSC .
I need suggestion on a country to travel to easily where I could get a job and earn something.
I need a job to do no matter how small, I just want to earn something and save and use that money to start a business.

I'm ready to do any types of menial jobs except washing dead bodies or working in toilets. But I don't mind sweeping, Washing plates, housemaids, nanny, etc
But I need the travelling to be easier than Canadian permanent Residence whatever as I'm tired of it. Ive done Eca, Wes, remaining IELTS. I can't apply for scholarships because I don't even have money for data or sending transcripts.

I also wants it to be 150k or less than 150k because I do not have money.
I mentioned Canadian because I'm currently processing it, but they won't pass me in IELTS so I'm kinda tired. I hate the exam already, as I kept failing what I once scored an 8 in, that is the speaking test. I got an 8 in the speaking Test the first time I wrote it, after reading so hard the second time, I kept getting 6.5 in speaking test. How is that even possible?

I have many skills I can use to fetch me money but I need money to make those skills fetch me money, even if it is small money, as small as #10,000, I don't have it. I already have my business plans and all, but I need to first work to save something and kickstart it, at this moment, there's no where to get such money, as my parents are not supportive likewise my family members.
I tried getting menial jobs in Nigeria, there's no menial jobs that I could get, most times, most people don't believe me when I say I need those menial jobs, they think I'm too big for those jobs.

Even teaching jobs, I couldn't get because the man thinks he pays just 10k and I won't want to collect it. So many stories like that, and in my home town, my parents will not allow me to do any dirty jobs. My look is a disadvantage to me, as no one will employ me as a sales girl or anything like that

I can only raise #150k for the travelling, and willing to work hard there. I just need to make some money to start my business and earning something. Thanks

No one will give me #150k if I want to start a business, but if I get to travel, I think I can still try to get it. But I need to be there to work

There was a particular day i went to fix my car, 30k I went with was almost gone trying to fix different issues. I was left with 3k and I needed to buy car horn. I bought the horn for 2500 and was left with just N500. I got a young auto electrician to fix the horn for me, after he did, i pleaded with him to manage the N500 because that was all i had left with me. The guy refused to accept it, then he looked at my car very well and said to me "oga you sure say na you get this car so?person when fit buy this kind car no suppose dey price like this". It is difficult for me to explain how small i felt that day

Car TalkRe: Ask your Mechanic ! ! ! Thread by paulavon: 5:29pm On Jul 12, 2019
What is your opinion on thermostat removal from engine? I drive a 2006 Toyota corolla sport car, I just changed the Engine 2 months ago, during the installation the mechanic removed the thermostat, I told him to put it back, when he did during testing water could not circulate in the engine and the temperature rose up. Finally they now removed it and the water was circulating fine. But I do not feel comfortable with fan running frequently even when the temperature indicator is low. I used thermostat in the previous engine before it got bad. Please what do you advise?

Just go to South Africa airways or Kenya airways site and book the flight, choose the option to pay later. it is very easy.

Pls, how can I book the flight without paying? The last time I was charged over 10k for flight itinerary. Thank You!
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by paulavon: 4:36pm On Apr 25, 2019
500k minimum is okay. You need to book a return flight but you do not need to pay for it, book the flight a day before you submit your application.

What is wrong with advising you to read through the thread? People like you just like the easy way out and usually end up making mistakes and spending money unnecessarily. This thread is very rich with all the valuable information one needs to submit application successfully.Booking hotel and flight are very easy, if you read through the thread you will know how to go about them. Any serious individual should be willing to read through and learn.

BusinessTaxify In Benin City: A Good Business Venture by paulavon(op): 6:43am On Jan 17, 2019
It is no longer news that Taxify is already operating in Benin city and it has been a great success. Customers who have used their services in Lagos and other cities are extremely happy to enjoy the services in Benin.Though the awareness level is still low but for those that are aware the demands have been overwhelming.

The aim of this thread is to encourage those who have access to good vehicles and are currently unemployed to get their vehicles registered and start making money. Those who run a business but still have some free time can also make some money driving.
Taxify is a legitimate hustle and drivers are well respected.

With the present situation in Nigeria, for one to survive the economic crunch, you need to have different streams of income.

I actually started driving Taxify on January 7th, it was not an easy decision though but so far it has been rewarding. From Monday to Friday, you can make an average of N10,000 a day, while on weekends you can make as much as N15,000.

If you interested in becoming a Taxify rider in Benin, you can sign up with this link

Nice one Slickruler for trying to inspire others. But i think my SA journey is over. I don't have the money and time to start appealing their decision or reapplying.

slickruler:
Sorry for the Late response....

I am a Network Engineer. ONce you get your CSA from IITPSA, I think another aspect is in packaging your application. I went over board with my application. Attached all my Professional Qualification. Made sure every document that was required was provided. The Introduction letter, i made them see that they NEED me. I Think Gods grace played its part too. My Visa was out after 17 days of Application and I was giving 5 Years.

Unto Job search.. You just have to be Dogged about it. To get a job from Nigeria itself is crazy. I applied on every known website (LinkedIn, Indeed, pnet.co.za e.t.c). I engaged Recruiters on LinkedIn everyday. Some will respond to you, Others wont. The Ones that responded told you that you had to come over for any body to take you serious. I put in about 10 applications or more everyday. I even applied more than ones in a role.. Rejection after Rejection. I dint give up.

I got angry one day and called someone to get my Tickets for me. Booked my flight for October 2. I was determined to just go and hustle it out. I have my 5 Years visa already why Am i wasting it in naija.. Mind you i had a job oh that paid me above 300k. It was a Gamble and a calculated risk. A friend i met here that assisted in my application advised that i shud chill till January.. It fell on def ears.. I dint mind coming over to even work in a bar grin grin... As God will have it.. I bought my Tickets on Friday. the next Tuesday I was scheduled for an Interview for Wednesday (Zoom) , Did a video Interview with the Global HR on Thursday... Same Thursday i was asked what i wanted as my Pay.... I gave them a Figure.. Dint hear from them on Friday..Was worried maybe i over prized.. The next Monday, I got an Email with an Offer letter with the same Figure i asked for.. My Ticket was bought for 2nd October, I resumed 8th October.

I am sharing this for everybody or anyone that feels discouraged. If you have been Denied. Its not the end of the world. Look at the reason why you were denied and re apply again. Dont give up. The are opportunities here better than Nigeria especially if you are in IT (Developers, Programmers, Network/Security Enginners). I know Nigerians earning as much as 100k rand per month (God go soon do our own). If not for anything, Keep pushing for the future of your Kids. Sorry I dont see things Changing in Nigeria soon..

P.S If this Message touch you, abeg pray for me.. I applied for P.R.P this week. The same God that has established me here will make it a success
