Montaque:

Your earlier position was that bride price is not paid for a pregnant bride in igboland. That's what I disagreed on.
Ok. Although in my own town and side tradition that's the case. I would like to know the exact igbo town that pay bride price of a pregnant lady. Could you Enlighten me pls.
I had taught it was general for Igbo Nation.

Montaque:

The tradition of your town only, I must guess. In the igboland I know, it is said "that you cant finish paying the bride price". Some pay their wife's bride price years after co habitation, and child bearing.
Please don't lie against the land.
We are almost saying the same thing. Cohabiting and child bearing does not change anything. And bride price does not have a price; that's why in some places you can ascribe it to as something one can never finish paying.
Generally in the tradition, if bride price has not been paid or some sort of arrangements made, then the woman is just cohabiting with you

Badgers14:

Please oga pastor, can you explain to me why Jesus went to dine and wine with Zaccheaus

Also why JESUS condemned stoning of the adulterous woman.

There is no justification for what the church did.. In my opinion they were 150% wrong... angry

So the lady should not get married then because she is pregnant?

Who are we to judge one another

Before you start quoting me, I want you to look inside your self and cast the first stone if you are without sin

Bros, although am not sure of the church's reason for cancelling the wedding because the lady is pregnant. But I want you to stop seeing it as a case of sin. In some tradition in Nigeria, you don't pay bride price for your pregnant wife to be; not just because you impregnating her through premarital sex was sinful (I doubt if they care), but because she is two in one at that moment, and one cannot pay bride price for mother and child.
I want you to see it from that angle. Therefore in cases like this, the bride price will be paid at a later date when the woman is not pregnant.
Religion / Re: Nasarawa Church Cancels A Wedding Because The Lady Is Three Months Pregnant by paulbets: 12:17pm On Dec 18, 2016
Traditionally in Igbo Land, you can't pay bride price of a pregnant woman

So I don't think is much about the sinfulness of fornication, premarital sex or the shame of bearing child out of wedlock... but because marriage practically and critically involves only man and woman.

All the same people should always be truthful as there is always a way and some sort of arrangement to overcome all kinds of challenges, circumstances or conditions.

Very happy for her.
But then, I don't understand the fuss about pushing that a woman must be UN Secretary general by some of these colombian and other civil society groups. Should people be giving a position simply because they are female?
Seems being a female carries more privilege?
Then what's the gender equality all about?
I thought occupying any position should be based on competency and capabilities, and not gender based?

Amina rocks though grin

Agriculture / Re: EU Lifts Ban On Beans Exportation From Nigeria. by paulbets: 7:40pm On Nov 18, 2016
sonnie10:

You are not far from the truth. When Naira was #200/$1 a bag of cement was #1450. As at today, a bag of cement is about $2250. So what ever benefit weak naira portrayed was cancelled out by increase in price.
Exactly. That's my thought too.
Agriculture / Re: EU Lifts Ban On Beans Exportation From Nigeria. by paulbets: 1:34pm On Nov 18, 2016
i have heard this analogy before, it sounds somewhat true. but then i have wondered, if Dangote sold a bag of cement for N2000 when exchange rate was N200 to a $, don't you think the same bag will sell upto N3000 when exchange rate is anything around N450 to a $. Because even in this current economic situation in Nigeria, cost of local productions have increased, thereby making some locally produced commodities to cost more than before. This thought has always been my reservation about benefits of weaker Naira. Although i will like to understand more behind it.
PapaBrowne:
Pretty good news. I hope those pouring so much pesticides to preserve beans can finally stop the nonsense.

I had an export request for 10 containers of beans but had to turn it down due to the ban.

Truth be told, because of the weak naira, it is increasingly becoming attractive for export$. The problem is we have a government that barely understands that there can be benefits from a weak naira.
Let me just give an example using say a bag of Dangote cement. Let's assume the price of a bag of Dangote cement is N2000. When the exchange rate was 200 Naira to the $, that bag of cement would be equivalent to $10. At the current rate of of N450 to the $, that same bag of cement is less than $5. That means Dangote cement would become attractive in countries Where cement sells at $10. So Dangote can set his export price at $7 and his product would be really attractive despite his making a $2 premium.

Celebrities / Re: Chidinma Okeke Hands Over Crown Amid Sex Video Scandal (Video, Pics) by paulbets: 11:16am On Oct 24, 2016
Sir, I could deduce something from that video that I quite found strange. if one listened to the music playing in the background, it was Frank Edward's "Okaka" which was released late 2014, meaning the act could have occurred anytime between early 2015 to this late 2016; and that it did not occur in party or related environment. it was girls relaxation play nothing more. And if you observe the ambience, it looked like someone's apartment and was cozy for them. After seeing the video, I want to believe it was just the girls random play which they are used to and nobody was coerced into anything. However releasing the video to the public could be as a result of beef with concerned parties or recklessness on somebody's part. I believe she will be fine soon enough and even achieve greater things, and this unfortunate occurrence won't do much to taint her. She is not the worse, neither the first and I wish her success in all her future endeavors.

lalasticlala:
She handed over on the 11th of October as shown on the video. That means the sex video leaked after she handed over. So those releasing the videos waited for her to complete her reign before striking.

They lifted the questions from this your site; however in other to make it look sound Nigerian, they made so many mistakes and used different names, data and incomplete details.. for different questions. That's why we got questions that are not related with answer options.. and even questions that are not complete... like the 7 billion budget question where they failed to give exact figure for agricultural subsidies.

Honestly the assessment was unnecessarily difficult given the time constraint. I also think that each question will carry different point, or maybe it was there way of wasting ones time.

I just checked my Waec result. my biology grade is showing outstanding . please why?

just be patient and also pray, they will release it on a later date and you will see your grade. They are probably investigating to know whether there was malpractice on that subject by you or your center. So wait it out, it will definitely show up on a later date. Hopefully not more than a month from today.
how were your other subjects? I wish you luck.

Bros, I have tried to upgrade to Windows 10 severally, but each time after downloading the update to 100%, when is about to start installing, it will just delete the already downloaded update, and start re-downloading it all over again. I have been in this vicious cycle for days. My Laptop is Acer Aspire E1-571, core i3, came with Windows 8 but I upgraded it to 8.1, the memory is 4gb while the HDD is 500gb. Please what can I do to carry out the update successfully.
Thanks

Its a good OS, just that you have to change lot of stuff in settings b'cos microsoft made all their apps to be the default for whatever you wish to do.... Then you've got to change some stuff in your WiFi and bluetooth settings too....

Installed it on a Lenovo 2015 model that came with a default Windows 8.1, its the 8.1 license that i used to upgrade mine. Free till July 29th..

Its worth 3.3gb of data...and before it starts downloading, it'll check if your laptop is compatible with it.. Bear in mind that it'll also replace some of your apps with its own upgraded version....

As in eehhn. Such a big Joke. The program is a colossal failure. Applicants had better move on with their job search and forget this one. It is practically dead
