Glad no human life was lost. |
Chubhie:The influence was right from childhood as for breakfast we do take raw tomato and onions alongside the bread. When we boiled yam to be eaten with fresh oil and pepper, we were made to go pluck some bitterleaves we had growing in our compound then and have it washed for some minutes and it then added in the fresh palm oil and pepper, we then dip the yam in it. At first we the kids hated it but my mom would have none of it, citing how bitterleaf is a cleanser and with time we got accustomed to it that it came to times we fought over it whenever there was not enough bitterleaf to go round. Mothers have a very strong influence in what we come to love or hate to eat. We also did have a relative living with us who happens to have the Sickle cell anaemia condition, so we were exposed to seeing lots of herbal preparation that helped boost his blood count and prevented him from Malaria though while still taking the recommended daily dosage of folic acid. |
wtfCode:No, it is about conservation as they make money from having them alive because it attracts millions of dollars and Euros from foreign tourists and organizations. Do you know how many millions Kenya gets from Cable Channels such as National Geo, Animal Planet, Discovery Channel etc when they come to shoot their programmes in Kenya? Not to talk of the fortune made during every wildebeast season when millions of wild animals migrate from one location to another at the same time! |
Chubhie:l recollect a show l watched on NTA Network some years back where a Nigerian 68year old grandmother looking like a woman in her 30's was being interviewed and her eating regime was inspiring, when she talked about her eating habit, she focused more on fruit, vegetable and drinking lots of water.l recollect someone around me who said that such combination can not give one enough energy to work but l now know better lt is more about quality of what is going in. Here is a picture l snapped in my kitchen something ago while trying to explain something to someone. Everything there was juiced up except for the lrish potatoes and green pepper and l bought all these for about N400 here in Nairobi.

Chubhie:l have gotten used to every taste and the end result is the motivation. You can blend the ginger and garlic and consume as liquid rather than chewing. l remember a time my brother was on junk food for a stretch of time, his immune system became low as the body was feeling toxic, so he went on ginger-garlic-tomatoes juicing and about 2 weeks later a lady in their society in Church asked him which facial cream was he using as my brother's facial skin has re-generated from within and given him a glow. |
Zeus777:l am cool with that. ![]() |
Chubhie:Drank Ugu juice as my parents insisted on it, saying it boosts blood count. We had a garden of it in our compound in Lagos while growing up.l have had a book written by catholic Priest who is into herbal stuff and it is titled Nature Power, you get to understand how your body function better and how food also serve as medicine. Whenever l feel toxic, l blend Ginger, garlic and tomatoes all together and drink before going to bed, l wake up feeling cleansed. Maybe for the rural areas but fruits and vegetables happens to be expensive in most urban centres in Nigeria, thereby reducing the purchasing of many. |
Congrats. |
No weapon fashioned against my First Class, shall prosper! ![]() |
Every family decides what it wants. |
FarmTech:l can tell stories around there to Ojota and Ogudu as we were one of the early lgbo families that settled there when it was more of a forest. ![]() |
Defcon1:Do google research and see they all have anti-bacterial and anti-malaria properties. l have worked in rural areas and that sharpened my consciousness regarding herbal stuff. |
Chubhie:You know we are so used to heavy eating, over working the body though it may look enticing but we pay for our indiscretion later. l have shredded dried ukazi leaves in my kitchen. Every Friday, l boil about 3 tablespoon of it for about 5mins and allow it to cool, then blend it with garlic, ginger and lemon juice and drink it...Malaria no longer have any business with me. lt is food and medicine. |
lf you are opportune to study, please do that but have an open mind because life's skills are not just solely contained in prints. |

l know person whey no even graduate as money no dey but today he owns a manufacturing plant that employs about 26 Nigerians, no certificate is more valuable than that! |
This guy get liver! |
Chubhie:I am addicted to fresh juice. l eat only one solid meal daily then the rest of the day is fruit juice and brewed tea. |
leahcimzil:At least we agree on that scary part that outsiders felt. |
leahcimzil:Make inquiry and check out if Parents back then where comfortable with their children hanging around there. The place had the silence of a cemetery! |
Chubhie:Yeah, l picked that from my mum. lf l want to juice it, l add banana and passion fruit. |
lf we direct effort to the Non-oil sector, it would lessen the dependence on oil. Watched African market place on CNN earlier in the day and the focus was on the Kenyan flower industry which in 2014 brought in over N120b into their economy from the international market not to talk of the local market. The industry provides employment to about 100,000 locals from those who do the growing, the harvesting, the trimming and packaging. l know every night, airlines airlifts packaged flowers from Nairobi to Europe where it would auctioned the following morning and Nigeria as the big man we are, we head to Europe to import that same flower! Why won't the Naira depreciate? |
Chubhie:l love using Avocado as bread spread. |
It must be a small congregation for a Pastor to know where all the members live. |
