@mount1ng, l know those scarescrow do not scare the birds as they are very sharp, l feel for farmers who had to physically watch over their rice fields. How is harvesting and threshing done at your own end? |
What kind of love can exist between a 35 year old man and a 14 year old girl? Why won't their offsprings be recruiting ground for boko haram when their human capital development is very low! |
Most local farmers use scarecrows to scare the birds and since grasscutters are attracted to rice farms, have traps placed around the farm in order to protect the farm and also get bushmeat. (l know some will be screaming Ebola) |
For those sending me mails: lt is the same motorbike we see around us, once it can start then u are good to go! The fuel consumption per hour is equivalent to around N20. U may not necessarily own the motorbike as u can always hire from the riders. |
oneangle: Bro plz what's ur bbm pin? Let's talk better.. Thanks..29E0D6F4l will prefer u do an email to: koboideas@gmail.com |

boluwajokosegun: This is simmilarly to the one use to generate electricity, thanks Pavore9You are welcome. Such cheap technology increase productivity and maximises one's profit. The one for electricity will be coming soon. |
boluwajokosegun: This is axactly what we have in mind but we are setting up 100 acres in Ikire and other area in the country..Thanks PovareYou are welcome. ![]() |
jethro2: Nice one. I hope you are planning to bring some of those innovations to Nigeria. ![]() |
suxes2005: Good!Bros, if you want story to read, quickly visit the romance section ![]() |
Here is an invention by a Kenyan innovator, to help farmers pump water from shallow wells to beyond 1km for irrigation using a motorcycle (okada) with a capacity of pumping between 22,000 to 40,000 litres of water per hour, consuming a measly 0.2 litres of petrol in an hour. Did he not promise to bring us Grammy? |
Just like nollywood movies, dem go soon talk about him getting a wife! |
fm7070: the plant is not a bad plant, but the abuse is dangerous.Smoking is not the problem but stopping it! |
Tomorrow l would do a post with a video on using the regular okada to pump water from a 40ft well or from the river for irrigation using less than a litre of petrol in an hour to pump about 22,000 litres of water, watched it on TV this evening. |
@suxes2005, what do u mean by just a friend? abi u wan hear story? No Ebola here but flights coming in from West Africa are given special attention and arriving passengers have their special section for screening at the airport, u go fill form tire! |
Kcinho: You seem to know them well. Are you from aghamelum LGA?l am from lmo state but did work with some Rev. sisters in several agro-related projects, so l did move around, met with people and valuable experience! |
hmm.. |
Constant electricity is an issue. |
EJaja: @Pavore9 I would like to talk to u on other mattersn kindly drop me an email. Iyerifama@yahoo.coml have sent u mails thrice and it kept failing, send an email to: koboideas@gmail.com |
Kcinho: Yeah, they do. The farm settlement was set up by acquiring land from 3 towns; Igga in Enugu, Adani in Enugu and omasi Agu in Anambra,l remember way back when people from Omasi go to Adani to charge their phones! |
Kcinho: The farm settlement is between Enugu and anambra States with the mill in Adani Enugu state.Omasi agu is the anambra community that borders Adani separated by a short bridge & Omasi agu has vast land for rice farms. |
Buchika: you got me thinking.lgbo man!...lol! Well such enterprise will motivate farmers to cultivate more because harvesting has been simplified. The thresher which threshes abt 4.5tonnes daily is available @ Awka, lost d contact! |
@Kcinho, like l posted earlier l would prefer engaging in harvest services, that is an untapped section in rice farming. u work all year round as farmers are in high demand for such services as it is not easy paying and cooking for manual labourers. |
Kcinho: That's encouraging cos many people in Enugu prefer the foreign type. I guess your market was in anambra.Once u have a good product, u will sell! U can bag it in 10Kgs & sell directly to groups e.g civil servants, C.W.O. |
Kcinho: I'm considering that. Hope I will make profit. Another problem they have is market. How did you cope back then?lf u grow a good variety & process into stone-free, clean grains, l tell u the market won't be a problem. |
Kcinho: I have not been there recently.l was there way back 2009, l hope things have improved there. Mechanized rice farming is the way to go as manual labour costs eats deeply into the farmer's profits. |
With 24hrs access to Dstv, instagram, twitter, facebook even nairaland and no close parental supervision ....am not shocked. |
Kcinho: Tnx. I'll visit there and the Adarice farm settlement too.ls the processing plant now functioning? The last time l was at Adani that huge govt-owned mill was more of a museum bt uzo-uwani has vast land for rice farming. |
@Kcinho, as per cost of setting up a mill, l will suggest you visit several operating rice mills in Omor (Anambra) and Abakaliki(Eboyi) to get to know types/brands of machines they use in order to make an informed calculation. |
Akag: Need a sprinkling(irrigation) job on your farm,Where are you located? |
