SUBJECT: CAUTION AGAINST FALLACIOUS AND HERETIC TEACHINGS OF CHRISTIAN FAITH

Dear Dr. Abel Damina,

We, at the Nigerian Supreme Council for Ecclesiastical Affairs (NSCEA), have observed with dismay your current preachings and teachings of Biblical tenets and hereby write to express grave concern and caution regarding these your teachings, which have been brought to our attention. This letter also serves as a DISCLAIMER.

Heresy is, "a belief or opinion contrary to orthodox Christian doctrine and any belief, teaching or practice that explicitly undermines the gospel." Heresies are "beliefs or teachings that deviate from established or orthodox doctrine, often considered contrary to the accepted teachings of a religion or faith."

In Christianity, these include:
1. Arianism: Denies Jesus' divinity.
2. Gnosticism: Emphasizes secret knowledge over faith.
3. Pelagianism: Rejects original sin and predestination.
4. Donatism: Questions validity of sacraments performed by unworthy clergy.
5. Monophysitism: Believes in single nature of Christ.

While we appreciate your passion for spreading the Gospel, we cannot ignore the alarming rate of theological errors and heresies in your messages, especially as it is now going viral on social media as hate speech and cyber crime against the Christian faith. Please note that, the Bible is not for philosophising, it's the WORD OF GOD inspired of the Holy Ghost.

Specifically, we have issues with the following titles of your messages such as: "There is no heaven", "You don't need God to Succeed", "Jesus is not coming back", "Heaven is scam", "God is not responsible", "Jesus Christ is not a Christian", "Jesus Christ is God the Father and there is no trinity", "The Bible is not the Word of God", "No to Holy communion" and "No to tithing", etc.

We assert that, most of these your topics are mere fallacies and heretic, while the notions are mistaken beliefs, especially based on generalisations, self interpretation, personalised style, alarming sub-titles, and unsound arguments. For instance, in English, "the notion that the camera never lies is a fallacy." You also know this, but your preaching style is focused on attracting your audience through content creating hype rather than being correct and spiritual.

These teachings deviate from the fundamental doctrines of Christianity, contradicting the Holy Scriptures and the historic confessions of the faith. Your interpretations in most cases are also subjective to undermine the authority of Scripture, compromise the deity of Christ, and confuse the nature of our great salvation.

The core tenets of Christian faith include:
CORE DOCTRINES:
1. Trinity: One God in three persons - Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit.
2. Incarnation: Jesus Christ, fully human and fully divine.
3. Salvation: Faith in Jesus Christ saves humanity from sin and its consequences.

As leaders in the Nigerian Christian community at NSCEA, we cannot continue to tolerate and watch the body of Christ in this predicament of yours, we are compelled to address these errors and ensure the integrity of our shared faith. We urge you to:

1. Publicly retract and correct these false teachings.
2. Engage in theological dialogue with reputable scholars to clarify and deepen your understanding.
3. Align your ministry with the orthodox, evangelical and pentecostal teachings of Christianity or back out completely.
It is always good to know enough to realise that you do not know enough.

Dr. Abel Damina, you have crossed the line, and you are therefore no more a representative of Christianity (The Body of Christ) in Nigeria.

We remain committed to upholding the truth and unity of the Body of Christ in Nigeria.

Explain this first before I ask you further questions. Please, don't digress.

Dr Abel Damina has recently been teaching on several subjects with grave errors that shouldn't be overlooked. Doctrinal errors are dangerous. It can cause some weak Christians to lose their salvation. Apostle Paul wrote:

1st Timothy 4:1
1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.

The recent teaching on hell by Dr Abel is very disturbing. He said that their are no scripture to prove that torment in hell will be forever. He even said that the story of the Rich man and Lazarus can also be taken for a Parable.

Let me address the first submission.

Yes, hell is indeed not forever. But the torment doesn't stop. Rather, it continues in a bigger fire known as the Lake of fire.

Hell is like a cell were lost souls are detained awaiting trial. The souls in hell will be released for final judgment on Judgment day after which they will be thrown into the Lake of fire:

Revelation 20:11-15
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and HELL DELIVERED UP THE DEAD WHICH WERE IN THEM: and they were judged every man according to their works. note

14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

How does the scripture describe the torment in the Lake of fire?

Revelation 20:10
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night FOR EVER and EVER.

The passage above is very clear. It will be forever.

Even the teaching of our Lord Jesus said the same thing. He called it a fire that shall not quenched:

Mark 10:43-48
43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:

48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

He also called it everlasting fire:

Matthew 18:8 Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into EVERLASTING FIRE.

Matthew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into EVERLASTING FIRE, prepared for the devil and his angels:

So, please ministers around him should warn him before God's wrath decends on him.

I am just letting you know that New Testament teaching on giving demands more commitment than tithing. In fact, its demand is 100% and you are there complaining about 10%. Please, use your brain.

May I remind you that Jesus said he didn't come to change the law but instead of the slaughter of cows and goats along with other tradition inspired from the "old testament" you have the law of Grace and as op pointed out the early church did infact give more than 10% - they gave all one towards another.

I am amazed at those discouraging Christians from paying tithe on the ground that Jesus and his Apostles didn't collect tithe.

The teachings of our Lord Jesus on giving placed a demand on us far bigger than tithe. Tithing is 10% of your income or increase. But Jesus demanded 100% of not just our income but of our possessions.

Evidence No 1 - His encounter with the rich young ruler.

Mark 10:17-21.
17 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?

18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is, God.

19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.

20 And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.

21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, SELL WHATSOEVER THOU HAS, AND GIVE TO THE POOR, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

Notice verse 21. He told the young rich man, "sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor". He didn't ask him for 10% of his income or resources. He asked him to sell all he had and give it to the poor.

The young rich ruler couldn't do it. Rather, he went away sad. He never Jesus was showing him the way to true riches. He would have become far richer than he was if he had obeyed.

It's true that the recipient of the giving wasn't the Pastors but the poor. If our Lord Jesus demanded such sacrifices for the poor, do you think he cares less for his ministers?

Another argument is that he wasn't talking to everyone. The second evidence will prove otherwise:

Evidence No 2

Luke 12:32-33
32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

33 SELL THAT YE HAVE, AND GIVE ALMS; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

The instruction our Lord Jesus gave above was to his disciples. And that translates to us all for we have all become the disciples of Christ.

Evidence No 3 - The early church practiced it all two recorded occasions:

Acts 2:42-45
42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

45 And SOLD THEIR POSSESSIONS AND GOODS, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

Second Occasion

Acts 4:32-35
32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.

33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were POSSESSIONS OF LANDS OR HOUSES SOLD THEM, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,

35 And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.

My question to those who condemn tithing is this, can they sell their possessions and drop the money at the feet of their Pastors so they can share to those in need? If the answer is no, they should all stop condemning those paying tithe.

My only counsel to churches that collect tithe is that they should remember the poor from time to time as it was done in the Old Testament.

It is not about the right answer. It is about understanding that as a Catholic, having asked for mercy several times during the mass, I should be bold to walk down the isle to the altar to receive the communion. But this is not the case with many in the church.

Last week Sunday, while the communion was going on, I saw good Catholics sitting on the pew regurgitating over their sins in self condemnation. These are those who received the communion the previous week but last week Sunday they did not go to the altar to receive and my question is why? Does it mean God did not hear their prayer during the mass? I know God heard their prayers because the word says, if we confess our sins, he is able to forgive us and cleanse us of all unrighteousness. But these Catholics have not had this understanding.

I weep in my heart every time I go to mass and see my fellow Catholics disenfranchising themselves from the communion, the body of Christ, because they lack understanding of righteousness. It is not about them, it's about Jesus and his sacrifice, and what the word of God says. If only Catholics would stand on the word, oh!

I have a brother who is a senior pastor in one of the popular churches in the country (name withheld). Over the years he has risen up the ladder in the church hierarchy and is doing well for himself. He is adorned by outsiders but at home he is not the man they think he is.

He has been married for 7years and the union is blessed with 2 lovely kids and all of a sudden he thinks his wife is not good enough and wants a divorce

For years they have been having fights here and there and on several occasion the wife got a black eye. We normally don’t get involved in anybody’s marriage but his case is getting out of hand that we can no longer allow the wife to continue living with our brother.

That lady is a wonderful lady and is the best wife married into the family so far. She stood by him when he was a young pastor wallowing in poverty until he rose up the ranks and now he thinks she is not good enough

We all know that our brother is the problem in that marriage because he is not doing what he is supposed to do. He is nice to others but take care of his home is a big issue

On the last beating she got last night, we all said enough is enough and will grant him the divorce he seeks but none of us will be present in any marriage he seeks to have again

The wife is more like a sister to us and we stand by her and will contribute our quota to ensure she resettles again in life

Today I heard him preach and people praying and shouting, I felt bitter and angry.
