PoliticsRe: What Were The Offence Of Igbo, That Ironsi Did What? by paxonel(op): 10:51am On Sep 09, 2024
AntiMarxist:
Virtually every national in Nigeria moved on after the war.

Ibos began resettling across Nigeria and began to pick up their lives without any form of discrimination that is until Nnamd Kanu came out of the woodwork and began revisiting and twisting the events leading to the war and reinforcing the Ibo victim mentality. It did not just stop at that, but IPOB went to town castigating every other Nigerian national and their political figures at that time as enemies and haters of Ibos. Kanu did all these with glowing support from among the Ibos who began to hate their fellow Nigerians

When Nigerians began countering their lies, they recoiled back to their shells with this same argument you are making.

Also, all the foolishness of the early Zikists that saw to the coup of Jan 15 and later the war are being championed by the Ibos of today. They have come to see their actions leading to the war as noble whereas this isn't the case.

If then they are bound by their stupidity to repeat the foolishness of their grandparents based on revisionist lies echoed by the likes of IPOB and other fictional author characters like Achebe and Chiamanda, it is only natural that the same strong negative emotions that they aroused from their past foolish actions will naturally recieve the reciprocal hate they are sowing amongst their people.

Take for example IPOB's ambition to annex the same SS under their Biafra which virtually every Ibo has now come to see as theirs to conquer and occupy. This was what lead to Ojukwu declaring Biafra after Gowon carved the minority peoples out of the old eastern region. Ojukwu will drag the SS people into his Biafra without consultation and begin a slow genocide of the people using the fog of war. Ojukwu will later extend his madness to the neutral Midwest and repeat his pogrom on the hapless civilians while claiming he was "liberating" them from the Hausa Fulani jihadists. Did Ojukwu consult any one in the SS to join his Biafra ? No. Same thing is happening with Kanu and his IPOB who without any regard to the people of the SS has dragged them into his Nu-Biafra. In a live Radio Biafra rant sometime in 2022 during the EndSars riots, same Kanu had the audacity to declare that "all SS is our land and anyone that opposes us will be killed". By "our" he meant him and his Ibo people and by "anyone who opposes us" he meant even the SS people .

So if you are just waking up from under the rock , better shut up and listen to those who know these people better than the back of their hands
Anyway, cessationism are usually products of long term injustice perpetrated by the ruling class to the cessationist group, it happens world-wide.
We have 3 major tribes here
Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo.

For over 60 years now, the Igbos have been excluded from producing a president from their region that's why you see cessationists like Nnamdi Kanu and Ipob, though their activities are not constitutional.
For this reason, it is expedient for the ruling class to map out a comprehensive power rotation plan which is inclusive of the Igbo region that must be followed by all political parties.
I think this isn't difficult to do if we truly want a one nation that is free of political cessationism

I am neither Hausa, Igbo or Yoruba. I'm just one of the minority tribes who is observing this whole long tribalistic episodes in a country and I'm pretty ashamed..
Ashamed of my generation.

You know, can you people shield your filthy tribalistic swords and move on?
The world is becoming a global village and in this 21st century someone is still thinking tribal discrimination, what the...

There are things we should grow beyond as a people. We cannot in this generation repeating the same mistakes of Ironsi, Tafawa Belewa and Obafemi Awolowo, may be we should learn more from their good legacies and totally ignore their tribalistic sentiments as more educated children of these past leaders.

It is so shameful to keep washing our dirty linen out there for the world to see, or is it only Nigeria that is blessed with varieties of tribes and cultures in the world?

Yes she was a prophetess not a teacher. What do prophets and prophetesses do? They judge or decide situations by passing direct messages from God to the people.
They don't teach, they tell or foretell what God has said or instructed for certain situations to save or restore the people.
you mean, as a judge she did not teach the people the ten commandments?
If be so, what is the basis of her judgement to people who don't know the commandments because they were not thought?

Even today, God allows women to prophesy in church under certain conditions. Prophesying is a different ministry from teaching or pastoring. Hope this helps.
Is gender discrimination a good thing or a bad thing?

Deborah was not a leader of the Christian church. Even David who was a polygamist was a leader in Israel but in the church a polygamist can't be a pastor. The new testament church is different from national Israel.
poygamist!
Good grin

Now, look at this :

Genesis 5:2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them..

This scripture shows that God loves creating varieties of things and he was never discriminative in blessing them.

Now, let's talk about discrimination :
Racial discrimination, Tribal discrimination, Gender discrimination, call it whatever type of discrimination.

Like monogamy which is most times better than polygamy, Do you think that discrimination or sentimental prejudice is good in any form?

Dr. Abel Damina is indeed both smart and intelligent, as you noted. However, unlike some others, he doesn't claim to receive direct messages from God. Instead, he emphasizes that God's words have already been clearly communicated through the Bible.
As a matter of fact, anyone who by-pass the bible to to say anything contrary, has not heard from God.
What you hear from God must correlate with what the bible says.

I believe that, what will make a pastor by-pass bible is because the message he claims to hear from God which he delivers to his church members is exactly what they want to hear to console themselves. Not necessarily what the bible want them to know.

People just want to hear that they can perform certain rituals like tithing all to get money from God in return.
But it doesn't work that way

I'm trying to understand: is it the same God who instructed Dr. Abel Damina that tithing is not mandatory,
what I see about Dr Abel Damina, he is an intelligent man.

And obviously from the look of things, it is more convenient for God to use intelligent people than less intelligent people.
Example : Because Paul was more intelligent than Peter, he did greater things than Peter inspite that Peter met Jesus Christ one on one and Paul didn't
who also told Pastor Adeboye that tithing is essential?
He read it from the old testament but refuses to see that it does not apply anymore in the new testament. This is what Abel Damina was intelligent enough to detect
How can two respected pastors have such differing views on this topic, both claiming guidance from God?
in the real sense, the two cannot be guidance from God at the same time.
It's either one is right and the other is wrong or vice versa

Yes sir. She cannot teach them according to God's word and design. Can she guide them by expounding the scriptures to them? Yes she can. Priscilla and her husband did same to Apollos. And the Holy Spirit took over and turned Apollos into one of the greatest men of God in Paul's time that some misguided believers started trying to make a sect out of him.
Can she become their teacher/pastor? No sir. God is not an author of confusion. If there are men like that ready to learn the scriptures, God would readily grant them enough grace to fill up those leadership roles that he has ordained for the males who represent the head of mankind.

There is an order of things already which is typical of God, to assign positions to us differently. Even in the body of Christ, we are not all one member but many members. And all the members are equal, moreso members that seem insignificant are to be esteemed highly. Submission and quietness are highly priced qualities in this kingdom.

This passage by Paul too isn't just referring to husband-wife relationship though it includes it.
1 Timothy 2:11-14 New International Version (NIV)

A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.

They won't lol. Anyone who is hungry for these things never lacks understanding. God might choose the woman to open their eyes but he won't let the woman become their teacher or pastor. He cannot contradict himself.

Yes I've heard of Deborah. Did her role contradict what I've stressed?
Take a look at this, was it wrong that she was a judge and a prophet?

How do we verify divine communication? If a claim that "God told me" is only valid when the information is "right," then there must be an agreed-upon standard or authority to determine what God would or would not say. But who or what has the authority to verify God's words? Is it religious leaders, sacred texts, or personal intuition?
If the information from the pastor for example is God said you should give to the church because the church preach the gospel, then you can verify from the bible where people give to the church in order to propagate the gospel.
You can also chose not to verify anything and give by your personal intuition and reasoning without a religious leader telling you anything, knowing that preaching the gospel is good.
But where the information is saying pay tithe.
Then you need to ask yourself, what is tithe?
How is tithe different from giving?
You can verify from your bible whether tithe was supported in Christianity or whether the pastor is trying to use your head to make money

Insightful smiley though I still believe women shouldn't be leaders of men or exercise authirity over them because of how God has created both genders and assigned them natural offices even before Moses.

It's so clear from the scriptures that God has not called us to usurp authority over men. Can we prophesy in church? yes we can with our heads covered portraying submission to authority. Can we teach in church? yes we can but we are to teach younger or immature women. This is one passage that settled it for me.
1. In a country where you have less Christians, what if in a church of 10 people, one of them is a woman who knows more about scriptures than the remaining 9 who are men, and the men agreed that they want to learn from her, so she cannot teach them?

If you think she cannot teach them can you give a reasonable explanation for that?
Because, a reasonable explanation for her to teach them is that, the men should not remain in ignorance
2. You have heard of Deborah in the old testament, what was her role to the isrealites?

It’s good that you now understand not tithing won’t send you to hell. However, the issue I have with your statement is your claim that God told you this. It’s actually your intuition telling you these things. Stop attributing everything to God. Tomorrow, someone else might claim that God told them if they don’t tithe, hell will be their final destination. It makes me wonder-how can the same God tell different people contradictory things?
People have every right to say that God told them anything, so long what they claim to be told is the right information.
But where the information is wrong, then you cannot say God told me..

The only problem here is whether the listener is able to detect the validity of the information or not?

So was Jesus Christ lying, when he spoke about hell and everlasting punishment??
that was in mark 9:43, hope you have read the scripture?

The best way to understand this scripture is to relate it with the overall idea

Romans 5:17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.

You see now that the analogy is between death and life, not hell fire and life

Also, if God's verdict to Adam from the beginning is death and not fire, then certainly, it follows that Jesus had meant to say DEATH by using the term hell fire which quenched not, in mark 9:43
.
Think about it

Unless the Bible is wrong?
no

It's like someone suspected to be an ancient Catholics theologian who had access to the original Hebrew script had deliberately infused those terms FIRE WHICH QUENCHED NOT in the scripture(perhaps the same set of persons masrerminded the term hell fire).

But meanwhile, the terms do not follow, if you look at it from Romans 5:17

That's why I say that the ancient theologians were never educated enough to cover their track error.

And no reasonable person living today will want their lives to be affected by errors committed by religious ancestors who compiled a book

The hell fire doctrine was said to have been postulated by ancient Roman catholic church at the time when many people did not go to school.
Therefore, it was postulated out of ignorance.

The name of the fallacy is called Non sequitur, which means IT DOES NOT FOLLOW.

why is the doctrine not follow?

The basic idea of the bible put it that

Romans 5:21 That as sin hath reigned unto death(in this context by Adam), even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Another scripture says for the wages of sin is everlasting Death.
Not everlasting burning fire.

Also, when God forewarned Adam from the beginning he didn't say you will burn in fire when you sin.
He simply said YOU WILL DIE.

Little wonder the book of revelation described the lake of fire as THE SECOND DEATH.
not fire burning people.

So hell fire does not follow.
That is, it is completely irrelevant of the bible

PoliticsUncertainty Surrounds petrol Supply From Dangote Refinery Amid Ongoing Scarcity by paxonel(op): 8:30am On Sep 06, 2024
–We’re still negotiating with NNPC, Dangote

–Only unrestricted market can end queues, NNPC

By Obas Esiedesa, Abuja
Three days after the NNPC Limited increased the pump price of petrol and Dangote Refinery announced the commencement of petrol distribution from the $20 billion facility, queues at filling stations have failed to abate.

Checks in Abuja showed that very few stations were opened to customers despite the petrol hike which has seen black marketers selling the product N1,500 per litre.

To add to the supply challenge, Dangote Refinery has disclosed that NNPC which was made the sole off-taker of its premium motor spirit also known as petrol has not commenced the lifting of the product.

Dangote said it was still negotiating the terms of the contract with the national oil company.

Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Dangote Group, Anthony Chiejina in a statement on Thursday said the company is not in a position to determine the price of petrol as the sector is regulated.

“We would like to state that NNPC has not commenced lifting of refined Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, from our Dangote Petroleum Refinery.

“Therefore, the issue of fixing the price of petrol lifted from our refinery does not arise, as we are yet to finalize our contract with NNPC.

“The PMS market is strictly regulated, which is known to all oil marketers and stakeholders in the sector, hence we can not determine, fix, or influence the product price, which falls under the purview of relevant government authorities”.

He urged the public to disregard the reports “as it is misleading and does not represent the true position in this matter.

“We are guaranteeing Nigerians of exceptionally high quality petroleum products that will be readily available all over the country.”

Bloomberg had reported that the Federal Government was reconsidering the decision to make NNPC the sole off-taker of petro from the refinery. The report added that the move would allow the refinery to set the price for its petrol rather than having the government peg the rate.

Only unrestricted market can end queues – NNPC

Speaking on the continuing queues at filling stations, the Executive Vice-President, Downstream, NNPC, Adedapo Segun, said only unrestricted and competitive pricing of the product can end queues at the petrol stations.

Segun who appeared as a guest in a national television programme pointed out that at N897 per litre the government is still paying subsidies on the product.

According to him, “If you look in section 205 of the PIA, that’s the Act that gave birth to NNPC Limited, it tells you that petroleum prices or fuel prices were based on unrestricted free market conditions. And so, when you have a situation where fuel prices remain the same, that’s what is unusual, you won’t see that in other climes, where you have prices fixed for a long period.

“It’s actually supposed to move in consonance with changes and market conditions. During the summer months, prices are high because it’s a driving season, in the winter months, prices come down and things like that. So, that’s what the PIA provides for, prices should move with the seasons.”

He insisted that the downstream sector “should be free market, unrestricted market-based conditions…what’s sustainable is the unrestricted free market pricing of PMS. That way, competition takes over, and Nigerians will get the best.

“Everyone will compete for market share, and the quality of service will improve. That feeling of entitlement by marketers or companies in the business will go away because they will compete against each other to serve consumers better.”

Mr. Segun said despite the challenges NNPC was working hard with marketers to address the problem of scarcity in the country, saying that the NNPC is working twenty-four-seven to solve the issue.

“We’re working with all of the marketers. You know we have almost a thousand stations around the country, but that’s not enough. We’re working with all of the marketers, engaging with them to ensure that fuel stations open early and close late, and make sure that there’s enough fuel in all of the stations. So, we are ensuring that deliveries are made to stations. We are doing our best to make sure that there are no diversions,” he said.

But speaking to Vanguard, the Public Relation Officer, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association, IPMAN, Chief Chinedu Ukadike said marketers were yet to receive any allocation from NNPC.

He said: “Nothing has changed and we are still waiting. There is confusion everywhere and we are struggling to differentiate what is real and what is not. Nobody has received any load from Dangote. We are waiting for information so that we know what to do.

“We are still insisting that every marketer should get access to Dangote products whether you are a major marketer or independent, it should be equal opportunity for all”, he added

Christianity EtcRe: Cosmic Silence: The Absence Of Planetary Mention In Christianity by paxonel(m): 7:24am On Sep 06, 2024
Lucifyre:
In the vast expanse of Christian scriptures, amidst the intricate narratives of creation, prophecy, and salvation, there exists a notable absence – the explicit mention of planets. While the Bible which was divinely inspired to the extents of crafting how everything came to be, the celestial bodies known as planets are conspicuously absent from its pages. Why is that?? Why does Christianity, with its profound theological depth and breadth, lack explicit references to planets? which God also created by the way.

From the Genesis account of creation to the apocalyptic visions of Revelation, the Bible unfolds a narrative that delves into the depths of human existence and the divine plan. Yet, amidst this exploration of the cosmos, planets as astronomical entities remain notably unaddressed. The creation story doesn't tell us when any of the planets where created or why. If it was divinely inspired wouldn't it have featured basicallly how and what time God created the planets?? maybe even the asteroids and black holes. But all these are noticeably absent all through despite the divine inspiration.

The absence stands in contrast to other religious traditions, some even older, where planets, play significant roles in cosmological narratives and religious symbolism. I Was recently reading a version of the sumerian recently, about the aliens( Enllil, Enki) from the planet Nibiru it got me thinking. Even in Greek mythology, planets are personified as gods and goddesses governing various aspects of existence. So once again why does Christianity, with its profound theological depth and breadth, divine inspiration lack explicit references to planets?

Maybe there are theological reasons which could answer this but i very much doubt it. My pov?! These people where simply limited by what they knew and saw at the time and crafted a narrative around it. Heck the writers of the story of babel believed they could use their limited technology at the time to build a tower and it'll reach God. We've built way taller structures and that's putting it lightly and we still haven't reached the skies. Heck we've even travelled past the skies using other means and found way more phenomenal stuff like planets, asteroids, blackholes, solar systems that they couldn't comprehend then due to obvious limitations ergo they weren't part of the narrative or story. If divinely inspired, these limitations ought not to exist and these phenomenons ought to have been added to the creation story. Or maybe there's a theological pov, but i doubt it.

Why the doubt?! Because even when men of science without divine inspiration found out these phenomenons and proposed their theories (heliocentricity) which later became fact, the divinely inspired church which ought to have known by the divine fought against it with its own, now proven wrong theory (geocentricism, where they believed the sun stood still). Even going as far as persecuting and forcing those who found the truth of what we now know today to recant their theories. This was until they finally admitted they were wrong and accepted fact.

Shouldn't the church have known the right reality of things first since it's divinely inspired?? Shouldn't the divinely inspired texts also have featured these later discoveries. So i end with saying again why does Christianity, with its profound theological depth and breadth, divine inspiration lack explicit references to planets and other celestial bodies apart from what was visible to the naked eyes as at then?? Why aren't they featured in the creation story??
Of what significance is the existence of planets outer space to the gospel of eternal life?

In all it relevance, scriptural idea states that Adam and Eve sinned and death came to man. But Christ resurrected to restore eternal life back to man.

How does the existence of planets come in here?
