Thanks, I dont get how ppl who obviously have no clue start babbling nonsense. When he thought that by the Naira increasing it appreciated is when he proved he has NO CLUE what he is talking about.

delivite:

Totally agree with you on the above points. I don't see how the devaluation spells good news for the already bad economy. It could be the lesser of both evils but definitely good news. We just have to keep surviving and hoping and waiting for 2019. For now, it seems the ships for our economic restoration has already sailed.
Business / Re: New Naira Policy: 8 Things That Will Happen In The Next 10 Days by PBundles(m): 1:08pm On Jun 16, 2016
Im sorry and dont be offended, but what the .......are you talking about ! shocked

Is this based on wishful thinking as it is certainly NOT BASED ON ECONOMICS. Let me help you:

1. Naira will get a new official price against the dollar when the market opens on Monday

The only Correct thing mentioned , expect a MUCH HIGHER RATE

2. The naira will appreciate against the dollar immensely at the black market

NO!!!! NAIRA wil DEPRECIATE NOT APPRECIATE. Just because the amount goes up doesnt mean it has appreciated, actually the opposite. It means you will need MORE NAIRA to a dollar so it LOSES ita value

3. Scarcity will be reduced as dollar will be more available to buy

NO, internal good stuffs will actually cost more which could cause people to hoard

4. The gap between the official market and the parallel market will shrink

In essence they will be aligned though the parallel market may cost more as the hitches to get it will be less and driven by liquidity in the market at that time.

5. Round-tripping by dollar dealers (individuals and companies) will be massively reduced

Im lost here, what are you saying? Ppl with dollar may also hoard it.

6. The restrictions on naira cards abroad will be removed

Um WHY. The banks still need to settle and at a much higher rate so they may keep the restrictions

7. The pump price of petrol may reduce

Wrong, the price will increase

8. Inflation rate will reduce

This BLEW my mind.....There will be high and possibly hyper inflation Also look for the Fed to increase interest rates as Inflation increases

Health / Re: How To Survive A Heart Attack When You Are Alone. by PBundles(m): 2:35pm On Jun 14, 2016
Most importantly, for those prone (high BP, High Cholesterol, CV issues run within your family) to heart attacks ALWAYS carry aspirin! When you think you are having one, take two immediately. Aspirin thins the blood and can be vital to saving your life at that moment.

Actually if you are a high risk person, you should be taking approx 80 grams daily as prevention.

charlsecy:

Please can you give me some guidelines on how to start a weightlifting programme for all-round strength; workouts to do, no of sets and repetitions.

It depends what you want to do and there is tons of info on the internet (youtube etc). See www.bodybuilding.com

First it depends what you want to do:
Pack muscle
Go for pure strength
General conditioning

For packing muscle you want to stay within the 6-12 rep range ( you will need to experiment with what works best for you, for example I make the best gains at 8 reps). The intention is that you place a weight you can lift ( if you are using 8 reps) max 8 times and couldnt do a 9th rep.
You want to do 3-4 sets and with 3-4 exercises for example for chest it could be Barbell Bench Press, Dumbbell Inclined bench and Cable Crossovers. You want to train each muscle group once max twice a week, believe it or not the mistake that many make is over training. You actually grow by destroying the muscle and then letting it recover by rest and sleep. I actually train each body part once a week.
You could do Mon: Chest, Triceps, Tues: Legs/abs, Wens: REST, Thurs:Back/Bicep, Friday: shoulder/Abs, Sat: Rest, Sun: Rest or Light cardio.
Ensure to incorporate the main lifts, Bench, Dead Lift and Squats in your routine. Crazy as it sounds, if you train your legs properly you will grow faster.

For pure strength you really want to train each muscle group just once a week and you want to stay within the 2-4 rep range and only do 2 exercises per group, for example legs Squats and Leg extensions.

For conditioning you can train 3 times a week, rep range 12-20.

Whats also very important is your diet. If you dont get enough protein, you wont grow muscle. Carbo is good for energy and you do need, but taking to much may result in the excess being stored as fat and you dont want that.

Also remember that it takes time, done expect wonders in 3 months. Stay dedicated and I guarantee you within 6 months - a year you will see the difference.

Good luck!

So, tell dat to athletes and martial artists.

Let me get this str8, if I make critical comment that means Im hating, please have a seat.

Why would I hate, live and let live. He is doing his thing good for him, Im just stating the obvious. He is not the only one, 50 cents is the same. Now let me let you in on a secret, YOU DONT HAVE TO A CELEBRITY posting 101 instagram pics to prove you are living well. Just take it from me, im not wanting in any shape or form. How do you know if he is EVEN on my level or vis vesra??

Actually I do know much about training, the comments you made actually show you dont knwo squat about training. YOU CANT BUILD MUSCLE WITH LIGHT WEIGHTs, so when ppl that know something about a topic make a comment dont try and act like you know about it because when you make dumb remarks, its just makes you sound stupid. If you doubt what Im saying feel free to ask any professional trainer.

Please show us or post a picture of his legs. Chicken legs.

Any by the way, my brother is a professional trainer for an american soccer club in America ( yeah the league that Henry plays). No I wont tell you who he is but scan the teams and see who has an Nigerian last name. Then when you find that name google him and you will see he was also a amateur body builder. Now don you look stupid.

The reason why Nigerians are not angered is simple.........we have allowed corruption to be part and parcel of our society. From the small child of 5 at nursery to the old mama at the village, we think its normal, hence we are not moved by it. Until we as a people first come to terms and first acknowledge we have a problem, we cannot fix.

Some may be offended, but its the harsh reality.

So, you now agree that those countries were the pioneers of indiscriminate bombing. As far as I know, those who started bombing in 1940s are the masters of the art. Don't come and cry foul using instances of 1980/90 when you are being paid back with same coin?

Finally, my personal life an immigration status has no bearing in this talk with you. But if you are so curious, I will post a link for you to verify my professional affiliation. I dont even know why I waste my time with you, but its something about your ignorance that compels me.

Let me answer your questions, ok
Is bombing the first action in negotiation?
You should as the US, they have done that on several occassions (Libya, Dessert Storm etc). The only ppl they told were the Soviet Union an hour before attacking.

My question to you is this, on what occasion, where and why and for what purpose were they counted on a single night?
Um I wrote in my reply, student of research: Feel free to check this with the 2011 Bureau of Labor Statistics data. I got all my info from their site so you can ask them how they got it.

Im curious, which institution are you studying Student of Research (never knew research was a major LOL), I want to look out for their graduates. If you are the best they have to offer, God spare us...

For a student of research you do have trouble making your points and assimilating and understanding data, 1942 when it was 1941, missing where I quoted my source. Anyway, it is what it is. God knows you wouldn't survive my classes. I have a pet peave with students who think they know something turns out its all fluff and hot air.

sonnie10:

I have to be honest with you, although you wrote a lengthy defense, not a single point was made. This response is really disappointing. How do you justify a country that goes about bombing another in a surprise attack without even a declaration of war? Is bombing the first action in negotiation? Then all of a sudden, American became the aggressor because they had presence in a particular region. I bet, the Japanese did not think it through before embarking on that suicide mission.

That Donald Trump want your lazy ass countries to start paying for military services is not a national consensus, that is his personal view and because of statements from quarters like yours, I totally agree with him on that. No US government past or present have ever shown any sign of regret for bailing out any of those incapacitated countries. Does Donald Trump speak for the US govt?

As a student of research, I find it amusing when statistics are used in a careless manner. Without any details of what, where, when and how those numbers where obtained, you expect me to critic on figures which I do not know the bases on which they were collected. You mentioned that I never responded on the veteran comment anymore. Well, I stop when I discovered that you indirectly answered you self without knowing it even. Let me explain using the figures you provided. First you said, 67,000 homeless veteran where counted in a single night and 4 in 10 where unsheltered (You need to define this word). What that suggest is that only about 17000 veterans did not have a recognized, structure place of living at the time of counting. Then you complicated yourself by saying that majoring of them have mental health issues. True. Evidently, most are from Post Traumatic Stress. The costly price which men and women of American have paid to make the world a peaceful place. Remember, people with certain health issues most times do not want to take advantage of services even when they are available.

My question to you is this, on what occasion, where and why and for what purpose were they counted on a single night?

PBundles:
You asked so I will tell you that Veterans are disproportionately homeless
Nearly one in seven homeless adults are veterans, as of December 2011.

More than 67,000 homeless veterans were counted on a given January night in America last year. More than 4 in 10 homeless veterans were found unsheltered.

Almost half of homeless veterans were African American in 2008 despite the fact that only 11 percent of veterans overall are African American.

1.5 million veterans are at risk of homelessness due to poverty, lack of support networks, and dismal living conditions in overcrowded or substandard housing.

Many veterans have trouble finding good jobs 1.2 million veterans used mental health services in 2010.
Feel free to check this with the 2011 Bureau of Labor Statistics data.

I could go on and on but you get the picture.

On the question concerning Donald Trump, you just proved what Ive been saying all along, most people living in American have no basic understanding of foreign policy, hence all a candidate has to do is say some patriotic rhetoric and the follow like the pied piper. I think the question is not whether they should be there but WHO ASKED YOU THEM TO BE THERE.

They are there mainly because the US sees it foreign policy to station troops at allies. Funny thing is NO OTHER COUNTRY DOES IT? Do you see French troops or European troops stationed in the US? Have a look at what the US spends on the military, yet the the bridges and electric grid is from the 50's. Like really, what would happen if they pulled out of Asia, you honestly believe China or N. Vietnam would attack LOL!

Trump was the same guy that said they Israelis should pay, but when he stood in front of the Jewish lobby some weeks ago, he said nothing of the such.

Business / Re: Anyaoku Backs Buhari Stance On Naira Devaluation by PBundles(m): 9:52am On Mar 31, 2016
Oh boy hear we go again, someone who is misinformed making up facts. Though I really dont have the time, let me educate you a bit.

The attack on Pearl Harbor was Dec 1941, not 1942. You would think think that for someone that claims to know so much about america they would know that. Whats next a christian claiming Xmas is in November.

The US was not minding their business, the Japanese attacked as a preemptive measure for the US involvement at the time in the Pacific (South East Asia to be exact) as the US was increasing their fleet presence there. So they saw it as provocation.

Germany, Italy didnt form any axis. Actually they never declared war on America. That was the whole issue, Churchill wanted to get the US into the war and Roosevelt refused. Funny thing was years back the US and UK actually thought that Hitler was a good leader, even after he invaded Austria and Poland. Truth be told the US would have probably never entered WWII if not for Pearl Harbor even as London was being bombed. These are facts. Im surprised though, dude this is High school basic history 101 I learned as a freshman at Prep School in Jersey.

Funny you say on one hand thats the price you pay, then claim that. Then you claim they have no regrets yet you agree with Trump that the allies should pay for it grin. I get it, you are not sure what you want.

I like how you didnt comment any more on the veterans issue when I answered your question . The saddest part is that half of the homeless are black, whereas they only make up 11% of the enlisted soldiers.

Dude I also have a Blue (US Passport) ( and a Dutch and Nigerian one if you want to get technical), but it doesnt blind me from seeing facts. I love the US like my brother, but like a african adage, ONLY YOU BROTHER CAN TELL YOU YOUR BREATH IS SMELLING. . Its a a great place, yet has its issues. In the US the extremes are extremes ( rich, poor, hate etc etc)

Enough lecturing for today, digest this, take some notes and if yo have any questions, let me know and i will see if I have time to get back to you, now need to grab me a double Latte, I earned it wink

sonnie10:

Those are the prices you pay to have a peaceful world where people coexist. While the rest of the world were lukewarm and did not show any concern for the different atrocity that were being committed in other parts of the world, American took the bull by the horn and faced the monsters. Was American not minding their business when in 1942 they were attacked by Japan? Germany, Italy and some other European countries in the axis formed coalition against American. From that moment, every enemy of the US got want they wanted. It is always better to let a sleeping dog lay. It is only nations with purposeless leaders that would not forge strategic alliance to secure themselves. American have paid both human and material sacrifices to see that the world is a safer place, and they have no regrets.

ATERI:

I don`t know whether that has changed, but the private school system used to be very unpopular in The Netherlands. Everybody learns the same thing from nursery to secondary school. Countries that are good are not good for no reason.
America is not alone in this show of shame; their cousins in London imprison more people than any other countries in the EU
When we called them Apartheid society, it wasn`t an exaggeration. They are tough on crime rather than being tough on the causes of crime. The more unequal a society is, the higher its prison population. That is what democratic capitalism is all about.

What percent of Americans are Veterans and what percentage of veterans live in poverty? Google VAH, affirmative action, equal employment, post 9/11 and GI bill, then you will be well informed. No government have done more for its veterans than the US. For your information, most of those veterans were in NATO forces, maintaining peace in those countries you listed. Now the veterans are left for US alone to take care of while those countries enjoy the benefits from their service. That is totally unfair and this big brother gesture will soon come to an end. Do you know how many US personals are stationed in South Korea, Japan, Saudi etc. Who do you think is paying their salary and maintaining their families back home? Does American pluck money from tree? If those countries can take care of themselves, why do they have these people there?

This is why Donald Trump have maintained that those countries benefiting from US military strength must start paying for the service should he become President. Although I have my reservations for him, with comments like yours, I can not but agree with him on that aspect.

I decided to simply copy a post I did a while back. If thats your take on the US, then either you are not living the US I know or have an issue with maintaining reality, cuz thats certainly not the US I know andI was practically raised there............

Dude their veterans squalor in poverty.

PBundles:
Actually good tips, with the exception of the below mentioned, I sincerely beg to differ! I have lived in the US in my younger years ( until 15) and go there regularly as all my younger ones are citizens by birth ( youngest is 30 eldest is 40)and live there. My mother is an American citizen ( via naturalization), but its not the greatest country in the world BY FAR. Dont get me wrong it has its advantages but greatest, please.... then you haven’t travelled. America is a place where if you have money you are someone, if you dont you will wallow in squalor. You do know that a lot of its infrastructure is either second rate or old ( California electricity grid from the 50s and 60s still; NY and NJ bridges very and some in other states have actually collapsed). The cars you mention are all leased and borrowed. Most cant offered them. Its all about keeping up with the Jones. Crime, give me a break. I lived in Newark where drive by shootings were a daily occurrence.

Have you been to Dubai or some arab states or Asia ie Singapore. What about Bermuda with the highest GDP per head around US100k!. Have you been to Australia? Have you been to Europe, if not ask people who live in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, or Germany if they would trade places. The level of poverty in some urban cities is just like being in Nigeria. The US is just trying to get basic health insurance for their citizens something that most of these countries enjoy at a good price to say the least. Where the average American needs a second job, most Europeans dont have and want one. My daughter is in route to study medicine here and it will cost me no more than EUR 2000 MAX per year. The rest paid by government. Most deficits here max 3%. Have a look at the strength of the Euro even with the crisis. I work for an American company here and all my colleagues say the exact same thing when they come......we always thought the US was super UNTIL we travelled out. Less than 12% have a passport as many dont and cant travel. Have a look at the indexes produced each year that rate the level of life of the citizens, the US at times doesn’t even break the top 10.

So the tips are good and yes the US is a good place, but not great and I believe that this is the biggest and most important tip that they should understand. It will also remove the pressure back home when they know its not what its cut out to be instead of them thinking one is in heaven.

sonnie10:

Yes, America is God's Own country. Their laws are clear and fair, this is where you can find equity and justice if you are wronged.

Let me give you instances of what a God's Own Country is;

If you are disable in American, you are sure to get free housing, food, personal care aides and medical care.
If you work hard, your social mobility is certain.
In American, money is not a hindrance to education.
All people of difference religion live and work together without hate.
Security of life and property is efficient.

Now tell, what else is God's own country?

I see that many are influenced by emotions, instead of economic facts. So when someone says 'I dont need economics to...', I think oh well no need to start explaining basics. Ppl should be able to distinguish between political rhetoric and economic based reasoning

You may believe in God, but if you cross the street while cars are speeding up and down, you will get hit, thats a FACT!

Um one question to those that are stating we shouldnt, help us economic dimwits out:
the correlation with that and our oil revenue ( remember we buy back refined)
The reason for the scarcity of petrol
Why mat this have an effect on power generation ( what do we need to generate this?)
How will this affect the state government revenue and its workers
Who is getting rich by NOT devaluing

I could go on and on, but the above is food for thought for those who say it has nothing to do with economics.

Lets sit back and observe

Business / Re: Difference Between Incorporation Year And Established Year? by PBundles(m): 4:53pm On Mar 23, 2016
In short these terms can intertwine and can vary from one country to the other based on local business law.

In short a company can be established (starting point, date) without it being fully incorporated. Incorporation calls for legal documentation to be drawn up (articles of incorporation, registration into chamber or commerce or companies registry). Reason behind this may be that the owner also wishes to make use of certain advantages that incorporating his company may have.

Its nice to note that the term established, seen usually as Est., is an older phenomenon.

Which one you choose to use to celebrate is trivial, if its a successful company, who cares, grin use what ever date you want, though I would think its the day you established.

I do have my facts right, see below my comments.

kingzizzy:

Get some facts right. As at the time Ironsi was killed, there were at least 10 officers who were senior to Gowon. They were:
Brigadier Ogundipe, colonel Bassey, Colonel Nwawo,Colonel Hillary Njoku,Colonel Imo,Colonel Adebayor, Lt Colonel Banjo,Lt Colonel Ejoor and Lt Colonel Ojukwu. Under Military tradition, the most senior officer should have become head of state. Gowon should have never become head of state but for the fact that he was a northerner.

I never said that there were not higher ranking officers (re-read my post) BUT, it should have been Brigadier Ogundipe, but for reasons I mentioned he refused. I also stated it should not have been Gowon, though he was chief of staff at the time to Ironsi ( strangely enough if Im not mistaken).

Ojukwu never went Sandhurst, he went to eaton officer cadet school. It was Gowon who went Sandhurst.

Eaton Hall which fell under Mons OCS (Officer Cadet School) was shut down 1972 and transferred to Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, so in records they all fell under Sandhurst. This can be checked. I should have been more clear.

Having said that, I see that I misspoke as it was not on the basis of commissioning but actually because Ojukwu was made Lt Col. in 1964 (under Ironsi ironically) and Gowon in 1966 I believe. He was actually made Chief of Staff to Ironsi.

The fall out between Ojukwu and Gowon was not what led directly to the war. What led to the declaration of Biafra and the subsequent war was when Gowon broke the Aburi agreement he and Ojukwu signed.

Among other things, if you want to get technical there were other peace agreements brokered that didnt succeed. I was simply point out that the appointment of Head of State (Gowon) was something that played a very VITAL role. Ojukwu from a principle perspective could not and would not SERVE under Gowon. So any agreement which was such that he would have to fall under Gowon was doomed to fail.

Its called slave mentality. When you masters have pitted you against one another so that you fight to be the house nig.er and not the field nig.er. In the United States, the Caribbean and certain EU countries, it has always surprised me to hear how blacks their put down africans, while Im thinking to myself...where do you think your roots are from, Mars??

Sesanbimbo:
One of the major problems of the black nations is that we dawdle on minor issues.
I believe, black people blood are congealed with hatred and deceit from our leaders who are demagogue, thus making us bias and chauvinistist. We need to expunge this ongoing enmity and delve
Into our cultures and historys.
We became so contentious and we forgot what brought us together at first.
One Nigeria great nation.

we are not snakes n betrayers

PBundles:

Seems I need to educate you all the more, the fact that you cant rebuf it and can only say what you said proves it but oh well, ignorance is a diesease. Ok get a pen and take notes, feel free to check, ask historians. Sad thing is the information is there if you really want to. Tip, instead of belittleing, simply ask..................You can thank me later

On 29 July 1966, soldiers including Murtala Muhammed, Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma, and Martin Adamu, led the majority Northern soldiers in a mutiny that later developed into a "counter-coup". The coup failed in the South-Eastern part of Nigeria where Ojukwu was the military Governor, due to the effort of the brigade commander and hesitation of northern officers stationed in the region (partly due to the mutiny leaders in the East being Northern whilst being surrounded by a large Eastern population).

General Aguiyi-Ironsi and Colonel Fajuyi were abducted and killed in Ibadan. On acknowledging Ironsi's death, Ojukwu insisted that the military hierarchy be preserved. In that case, the most senior army officer after Ironsi was Brigadier Babafemi Ogundipe, should take over leadership, not Colonel Gowon (the coup plotters choice), however the leaders of the counter-coup insisted that Colonel Gowon be made head of state. Both Gowon and Ojukwu were of the same rank in the Nigeria Army then (Lt. Colonel) but Ojukwu was more senior in terms of when he completed Sandhurst. Ogundipe could not muster enough force in Lagos to establish his authority as soldiers (Guard Battalion) available to him were under Joseph Nanven Garba who was part of the coup, it was this realisation that led Ogundipe to opt out. Thus, Ojukwu's insistence could not be enforced by Ogundipe unless the coup ploters agreed (which they did not). The fall out from this led to a stand off between Ojukwu and Gowon leading to the sequence of events that resulted in the Nigerian civil war.

Wish I could break it to you softer, but cant.

But I have a question now since you seem to know so much, would you please rebuf or prove wrong what I stated about the 3 tons of lugagge and the Mercedes please............Im waiting (yawns again)..............I know truth hurts when you realise what you believed isnt real after all.

For the record, my paternal roots are SE (IBO) and SW (Bini and Yoruba), whilst my maternal are IBO and North(Hausa).
