No.. You are getting it wrong! Dubai is an extremely Rich Emirate among the 7 Emirates of UAE. No matter how rich a place is, especially a tourist densed area, there would be a suburb for the extremely low income expat who forced and struggle their life to live in.. call it slum or say 'the ghetto area', same thing in Paris, Berlin, Tokyo or what have you.. Now Dubai for example is Rich, no doubt. Extraordinarily Rich.. Our Nigerian People are plenty over there so we know whatsup. En Plus, You will never see an Emirati 'A UAE Arab ' in such a way of life butrayed in those pictures.. i.e queieng for the public toilet, barbing beside the wastebin or smotching around demonstrating poverty.. Never.. Instead the Emiratis are there 'rubbing their faces with bundles of dollar, Dinars and Dirhams'.

P.S: Dubai is Built Specialy for Luxury.. The Poor are also there too. (no be lie). but the poor people are the Expats (foreign workers) not The People.

Onwuamadike’s kidnap gang denied their kingpin while they were being paraded by the police at the Lagos state Parade headquarters on Sunday.

Suoyo Paul, one of the gang members, said he had never been part of any kidnap operation with Evans. He confessed to having met Evans sometimes in 2007 as a friend to his former boss but had never had any engagement with him.

My pleasure too. To answer your question: I think it has to do with the psychology of being in the middle. Although in the early post independence era the middle belt was somewhat aligned with the North but JS Tarka even then began to call the middle belt to itself.
Presently we are tagged as north central and our governors are part of the so-called 19 Northern governors but it's just for political convenience since there's no politician of the ilk and charisma of JS Tarka to call the bluff of the North. Most middlebeltans don't subscribe to being lumped up with the North. We simply don't have the consciousness and we are predominantly Christians or rather there's an even spread as far as religions goes.
The North just likes to use the middlebelt as a buffer. Even the bulk of the footsoldiers that fought the civil war were from the middle belt.
But the politicians from the middle belt are just like the rest from other parts of the country - blind, bigoted, visionless, corrupt, ruthless, mean, tribal.
