raumdeuter: With this happening landlords will have a field day increasing rents since people won't be able to afford mortgages. Mortgage companies will layoff staff massively with Wells Fargo already doing that
At the end Biden will blame landlords You’re spot on. But, eventually there will be a crash (not just a correction) in the housing market (including rentals) when the demand slumps to its lowest ebb |

White suburban women have swung their support back to Republicans in a massive 27% swing since August This is significant because White suburban women (and Black women) were largely responsible for giving Democrats their majority in Congress in 2018, and Biden winning the White House two years later. |

And the same orgs hiring fresh wokesters/ workers after covid. Which FJB touts as job creatiom. Big lie. Joe is restoring jobs not creating ones out of thin air. Musk has since retracted his 75% firing idea. However, I still think he will fire between 25-30% of Twitter’s workforce |

I knew it can’t be only the runway that would cost that much |
Politics › Second Abuja Airport Runway To Gulp N72bn by PDPGuy(op): 1:39am On Nov 04, 2022 |
The proposed second runway for the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja will cost about N72 billion, the National Assembly has stated.
Speaking on the sideline at the oversight function of the national assembly committee on Aviation at the airport, the chairman House committee on Aviation, Nnolim Nnaji said the cost of the new runway is put at N72 billion and this will involve a lot of logistics.
Hon. Nnaji explained that the cost covers lightening, infrastructure, buildings and the construction of the 4.2 kilometres of runway.
He also said the runway will be the longest in West Africa if completed and commended the minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika for the project.
Nnaji said “We have been expecting this construction to take off because we are aware that we have been funding budget to accommodate for the second runway which is very important to this country. Abuja being the capital of Nigeria with an aggressive infrastructural development and economic activities, we feel that it is important to have another runway. This runway when completed will be the longest runway in west Africa; 4.2 kilometres against the existing runway which is about 3.7 kilometres. “This one is coming with control tower, taxi way and other facilities. At the second phase of this project, we also expect that we will have a terminal building around this place.
“We are happy with this project and we congratulate ourselves for the success. We learnt that the project will be completed in less than 12 months because the minister said with aggressive funding, this project will be commissioned before the end of the tenure.
So we expect that as important as this project, we think in less than six months, this project can be completed and commissioned. We also expect that the project will have a maintenance period of one year.”
Speaking earlier, the minister of Aviation said workers have been moblised to the site if the new runway and within six months, the project will be completed. https://leadership.ng/second-abuja-airport-runway-to-gulp-n72bn/ |
Travel › Air Peace Breaks Record With High Load Factor On Inaugural Flight To China by PDPGuy(op): 1:03am On Nov 04, 2022 |
Air Peace yesterday recorded full load factor of 240 passengers on its inaugural flight from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos to Guangzhou, China.
This was also as the airline disclosed plans to code-share with Asian carriers to distribute passengers to other destinations outside Guangzhou, China. The airline operated the flight with one of its flagship aircract, Boeing B777 aircraft.
Speaking during the inaugural flight, Air Peace Chief Operating Officer, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Olajide said the airline added the China destination and Asia to its network of continents, with the commencement of initial one-weekly flight to Guangzhou-China. Olajide said the Chinese airspace is not new to the carrier, as it had successfully operated several evacuation/special flights to the country at different times in the past, especially in 2020, during the COVID-19 lockdown.
“So, we’re going into China, not as newcomers, but as an airline that is technically and operationally acclimatised with the Chinese terrain. The flying public, especially those that fly the Guangzhou route, should expect best-in-class flight experience, which is characteristic of the Air Peace brand. We’re not stopping with Guangzhou- India is next and Israel is in the works,” she said.
According to her, also planned for subsequent launch are Malabo in Equatorial Guinea and Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo, stressing that Air Peace would continue to grow its route network as well as modernise its fleet strategically.
She said the carrier would have an interline arrangement with Asian carriers to help Air Peace carry passengers from Guangzhou to Shanghai and Beijing.
She also hinted that the Consultant was open for more people to travel to China from Nigeria, following the lift on travel restrictions put by Chinese government before now.
Olajide hinted that when Air Peace set out for the trajectory in 2014, they envisaged an airline that would create massive employment for Nigerians and reduce the burden of air travel for Nigerians, and by extension, Africans, through the provision of affordable and peaceful connectivity across cities and continents. https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2022/07/14/air-peace-breaks-record-with-high-load-factor-on-inaugural-flight-to-china/ |

As rich as these clubs are, couldn't they arrange private security for those games? |

raumdeuter: Inflation and crime are their major thing. I believe they are the top 2 concern in the country now. See how the Mayor of San Francisco was disgraced because of his non prosecution policy for theft
In Oregon for example the governor race got competitive because of the crime rate and homelessness New Yorkers feel the crime wave and are trending towards Zeldin
Democrats are playing defence all over because their position on Crime and economy is weak
Having some Democrats saying they will rather pay $15 for Gas and double for grocery than lose Democracy/Abortion is not really a message many Americans stretched want to hear
Look at where Obama Biden Kamala are going to campaign in supposed safe Democratic space even Deep blue California. They are now spending money and TV ads to defend supposed safe areas and have abandoned places like North Carolina, Ms Beasly had to complain that the DNC abandoned her Since I've been following US politics, I never heard of Democrats fretting about a statewide race in New York of all places; a state Biden easily carried by double digits! The bolded is truly a tough sell to non-Democrats, or should I say non-liberal Democrats. |

raumdeuter: Republican will take control of Congress thats almost certain
Senate is still dicey
Walker vs Warnock, Fetterman vs Oz, are very close. Same with Nevada race
Senator Johnson is likely to win Mandela Barnes, While I think Mark Kelly might defeat Blake Masters. And Odea to lose Colorado
Rubio to wipe the floor with Demmings and Kemp to edge out Stacey Abrams
Even unlikely races like Bolduc is getting close to Maggie Hassan. Zeldin is running close in New York For the bolded, we will most likely know the winner of the Walker v Warnock race December 6 - the runoff election day. But if Walker distances himself from Trump, he may eek out a win. I believe the reason why Kemp is running away with victory in the gubernatorial race is because he has called the bluff of Trump, causing voters to see him as an independent man capable of independent thought; while Walker's full embrace of Trump is one factor likely making his a toss up. |

raumdeuter: That speech yesterday was pathetic, Its a new low. An election 6 days away and he had to do a primetime speech to warn the voters about the opponents, I saw it on CNN and was genuinely ashamed for Biden, By the time I tuned to Fox, they were actually having a ball just laughing at Biden
CNN just released a poll today that almost 60% of Americans major concern right now is the economy and inflation but Biden has nothing to say about those concerns except for Republicans, GOP. I really hope Biden runs in 2024 But most Republicans running in competitive races are mostly talking about crime rate. If I were in their shoes, I would continue hammering about inflation till election day. |

My prediction for Tuesday is that Republicans will retake control of Congress, with 51 seats in the Senate and at least 224 in the House of Reps.
Some sites like RealClearPolitics are even projecting the Republicans to hold 54 Senate seats.
However, one way that Democrats could swing the election if they promise to decriminalize the cultivation and use of marijuana at the federal level.. |
