Trump may just turn out to be the U.S. president with the lengthiest investigation into his life. |
Special counsel Robert Mueller is investigating whether US President Donald Trump’s tweets constitute an attempt to obstruct justice with respect to the probe into his campaign’s ties with Russia, The New York Times reported Thursday. Citing three unnamed people briefed on the subject, the Times said that Mueller, a former FBI director, was scrutinizing tweets and negative statements from the president about Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Mueller’s FBI successor James Comey. Trump has repeatedly turned to Twitter to try to bend proceedings and public opinion in the direction he would like — calling for Mueller’s probe to end and demanding that the Justice Department investigate his political enemies. In one of many similar tweets, Trump on April 20 appeared to try to undermine Mueller’s probe into whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russia in its efforts to skew the 2016 US presidential election. “James Comey illegally leaked classified documents to the press in order to generate a Special Council [sic]? Therefore, the Special Council was established based on an illegal act? Really, does everybody know what that means?” he wrote. Now Mueller is reportedly investigating whether that pattern of behaviour is enough to constitute obstruction of justice. Obstruction is difficult to prove, and US legal opinion is divided on whether the president can be indicted for such a crime even if it is a slam dunk case. To avoid that legal thicket, Richard Nixon was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the Watergate scandal, which nonetheless led to his impeachment by Congress and exit from office. https://www.channelstv.com/2018/07/26/trump-tweets-under-investigation-report/?utm_source=TW&utm_medium=ChannelsTV-+AutoPoster&utm_campaign=SNAP%2Bfrom%2BChannels+Television |
majestique:You’re missing the point. No is saying that he shouldn’t have spent money on a date. But it is wrong for the woman to invite her friends to a romantic date in the first place. To add salt to injury, she had the audacity to order N7k takeaway food for her friends. I mean, who does that? |

Arondizuogu:The airline won’t immediately start flying to 81 destinations; but will do so within its first five years. Half of those destinations will be regional/international (long-haul). Moreover, the plan for airline shows that it will operate a fleet of 30 aircraft within its first five years of existence. And Nigeria Air will start its intercontinental flights in the middle of 2019. |

The 2022 world cup is now confirmed to be staged between November and December in Qatar. |
It's official.. The 2022 world cup will be held in November-December in Qatar How will the Premier League and other major Euro leagues adjust to the new reality? And why couldn't the Qataris deliver on their promise to build air-conditioned stadia for the tournament. Surely, they could also install industrial standing fans at the training sites for the players too. |
tunwumi:The political employees of the ministry of justice, as in other ministries, are paid via authorization from the governor (or president). As political appointees, their roles are to serve at the pleasure of the chief executive and carryout his/her policies. I wouldn't class police commissioners or the IG as political appointees because they have a duty to enforce the law impartially. Hence I support any move to make the remunerations of judges, police commissioners, and the IG on a first-line charge basis. |
tunwumi:They both could be paid on a first-line charge basis, which would eliminate the need for the Governor to directly approve their salaries. |

England are the undisputed set-piece masters! Nine of their goals have been via set pieces |
The world cup "foreign coach curse" continues.. Belgium's loss means that the native coaches of France, England and Croatia will guarantee that only native coaches of national teams have won the world cup. Yes, Siasia and Oliseh have had their issues, but I think the NFF should give both guys another chance at managing the Super Eagles after the Nations Cup. |
So Kante and Giroud are guaranteed to be the 2nd and 3rd Chelsea players to play in a WC final, following in footsteps of Schurlle in 2014.. Not bad at all for a 'small' club. |
President Trump has nominated Brett Kavanaugh as an Associated Justice of the Supreme Court. Justice Kavanaugh could be make an appearance on the Hill as early as tomorrow (Wednesday). |
