budaatum:It's pure politics |
schwarzkopf:To be honest, I see no hope for Heitkamp turning her deficit around. She ran a good race, but she would become an ex-Senator by January 2019. That's why I applaud her courage, because she could have easily voted for Kavanaugh and hope her poll numbers rise. I applaud her courage all the same. |
Senator Manchin is voting to confirm Kavanaugh because he is running for re-election in red state. Any other reason he is advancing is pure BS. He should come out clean and admit it. Next week, it's a change from Judge Kavanaugh to Justice Kavanaugh. |
Senator Susan Collins (R-Maine) is now speaking on the floor of the Senate... |

signz:MRO stands for Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul. It’s basically a mechanical workshop for planes. |
With Inter also winning today, Tottenham should now focus on domestic English football. I don’t see a way back for them to clinch a UCL round of 16 spot. |
raumdeuter:That’s pure footballing intelligence... something a good number of our Naija and African players need go imbibe. Those Barca players were aware that Messi was the best placed to have an attempt on target, and sensibly left it for him. |
Scrap NYSC because it has outlived its usefulness. |
A majority of U.S. registered voters, 56%, say they plan to use their vote in this year's midterm elections to send a message about President Donald Trump. That includes 25% who say their vote will be a sign of support for the president and 31% whose vote will express their opposition to him. Fewer voters in June, a combined 43%, planned to send a pro- or anti-Trump message with their vote this fall. The latest results are based on a Sept. 17-23 Gallup poll of 1,308 U.S. registered voters, conducted as the political world has been focused on the fate of Trump's Supreme Court nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh. Allegations of sexual misconduct by Kavanaugh when he was a teen were first made public on Sept. 14 and have since consumed the confirmation process. The same poll finds the American public reporting near-record enthusiasm about voting this fall, with Republicans and Democrats about equally enthused. Roughly two-thirds of Democratic and Republican registered voters intend to send a message about Trump with their vote, with almost all Democrats who are doing so opposing Trump and almost all Republicans supporting him. Fewer independent voters, 42%, plan to use their vote to comment on Trump, with more sending a message of opposition than of support (25% vs. 17%, respectively). Since June, greater proportions of voters in all party groups view their vote as a message about Trump. The percentage of Republicans wanting to express support for Trump with their vote is up 12 percentage points, while there has been an 11-point increase in the percentage of Democrats using their vote to oppose him. Among independents, the percentage planning to use their vote to oppose Trump has gone up seven points, while the percentage wanting to send a message of support is up three points. Voters' use of their midterm vote to communicate their opposition to the sitting president is not unusual, historically. In the past three midterm election years -- 2006, 2010 and 2014 -- more voters in the final poll before the election said they intended to register their opposition to the president than to send their support for him. In 1998 and 2002, years in which the incumbent president was popular, more voters said they were supporting than opposing the president with their midterm vote. The six-point deficit for Trump in midterm voting, with more sending a message against than for him, is smaller than the 13-point deficits George W. Bush and Barack Obama had in 2006 and 2014, respectively, but similar to the eight-point deficit for Obama in 2010. https://news.gallup.com/poll/243233/voters-plan-send-message-trump-fall.aspx?g_source=link_NEWSV9&g_medium=NEWSFEED&g_campaign=item_&g_content=More%2520U.S.%2520Voters%2520Plan%2520to%2520Send%2520Message%2520About%2520Trump%2520This%2520Fall |
ARROBA, it looks like Air Peace is the real deal. The Chairman is smart in seeking inter line partners for the airline’s long-haul flights, which would result in a simpler booking process for passengers. With the inter line agreements in place, one can make a single booking, rather than separate bookings as was the case with Arik. |
Air Peace should be the national carrier, due to their size and reviews. I hope the airline can secure, say, $400 million in funding from some Naija billionaires and the capital market. Moreover, it won’t be a bad thing if Enugu could be their hub; but the airport has to be further upgraded before that dream can become a reality. I’m excited that they are planning to build an MRO in Enugu. If the plan materializes, a lot of aviation engineering professionals may move to Enugu, which would help in decongesting Lagos. |
raumdeuter:Unfortunately, yes. If they both had consensual 1st round sex, then they both slept off, and the man wakes up later to touch her clit or perform MouthAction on her, he could, in theory be charged with rape in CA, per PC 261. This is because she was asleep at the time when he was performing the MouthAction, and not capable of giving consent. |
raumdeuter:Yes, if a man is sleeping and his partner sucks his dick without his consent, he could press charges for rape or sexual battery, if you’re in California. People really have to be careful these days, because any slip up, you could find yourself in jail. |
nick50:How do you know she can’t speak in the midst of other male senators? |

The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank has approved a Senior Loan in Naira (equivalent to USD 20 million) to Santa Clara Medical Limited, to finance the development of a hospital and referral clinics in Lagos, Nigeria Lagos State, Nigeria’s largest healthcare market, lacks an adequate supply of quality secondary and tertiary healthcare facilities with only about 700 to 1,000 quality beds for a population of over 21 million people. According to a statement, the approval was in view of inadequate supply of quality secondary and tertiary healthcare facilities in Lagos State, Nigeria’s largest healthcare market with only about 700 to 1,000 quality beds for a population of over 21 million people. “This situation currently forces over 30,000 Nigerians to spend over USD 1 billion on medical tourism for specialty treatments overseas. Completing this project would allow the country’s healthcare sector to benefit from some of these resources” said Dr Abdu Mukhtar, AfDB’s Director of Industrialization and Trade Development. He also added: “This is an important development. In spite of recent improvements, Nigeria’s health infrastructure remains rudimentary and insufficient to cater to the country’s growing population,” the statement said. The hospital and referral clinics will be situated in different locations in Lagos and will upon completion in 2020, provide a full spectrum of high quality general and specialist healthcare services at competitive prices. It is expected to have positive economic and social benefits for the city of Lagos and will create around 250 temporary jobs during the construction period and 600 jobs over its operation phase. More importantly, it will significantly improve private healthcare services by offering quality general medical services in addition to specialty services such as orthopedic, nephrology, urology, cardiology and neuro surgery that are largely unavailable in the country. The Santa Clara Medical facility is being promoted by AXA Mansard, a member of the AXA Group, Africa Capital Alliance, IFC and Healthshare Health Solutions, the hospital management company of the project. The facility will be a model case with strong demonstration effect for the development of the health infrastructure and services in Nigeria. The investment is consistent with the Bank’s Private Sector Development Strategy to (i) improve Africa’s investment and business climate, especially in the healthcare sector that is currently under-served by the private sector and (ii) increase access to social and economic infrastructure on the continent. The investment is also a reflection of the Bank’s commitment to improving the quality of life of the African people – one of the five priority focus areas of the Bank. https://www.worldstagegroup.com/afdb-approves-20m-to-santa-clara-medical-to-build-lagos-hospital/ |
