Deploying the Indian-style Electronic Voting Machines for Naija elections won’t be a bad idea.
Basically, the Indian EVMs are stand-alone machines that aren’t connected to the internet and are virtually not hackable. These machines can record up to 2,000 votes per polling unit, and counts and tabulates votes within minutes.
In fact, those machines are so efficient that they tabulated over 640 million votes cast in the last Indian general elections, in less than one day.
So, if 40-50 million voters show up to the polls in the 2027 elections, those machines may be capable to tabulate the results within minutes/hours of the polls closing. |

Na joke o, BB is beyond 2nd class to football in 9ja. As far as 9ja is concernee, it's like expecting badminton players to receive tennis prize money. Well, D’Tigress are arguably the 2nd most successful Nigerian national team, behind the Super Falcons, so logically, it would be fair for the same government to give them a similar or slightly lower cash gift |

If D’Tigress win the Afrobasket, will Tinubu also give them US$100,000? 😂 |

D’Tigress will meet the winner between Cameroon and Angola on July 31 at 10pm Nigerian time..
Interestingly, Otis Hughley lost his first ever Women’s Afrobasket match, following Senegal’s loss to Uganda yesterday. |

daveP: Actually, nff don cut the cake prior to now. Only $330k will land in the players hands asides the owed bonuses and allowances. 670k to NFF coffees for their unimaginable non-sporty pleasures.
As of today, we are hearing they want to pay the 330k in naira and not dollars. NFF and controversy are Siamese twins. That body dey behave like bureau de change. Once money don pop up, they display unsportsmanlike xtics. 😂 Wawu! So that means each player will receive $13,750 (21 million Naira). Not too bad sha |

Interestingly, the SF scored 4 goals in the group stage, but ran riot in the supposedly tougher knockout rounds by scoring 10 goals in the knockout stages 🤯
Meanwhile, the Super Falcons win over 🇲🇦 was their 50th ever WAFCON victory! What a way to reach their milestone victory at the very finale 🙌🏽 |

naptu2: It kind of reminded me of John Utaka's goal against Cameroon at the 2004 Nations Cup. Utaka and Osaze made runs when Kanu got the ball and the Cameroonians were confused about which run to track.
The South African goalkeeper was confused about whether she should track the flight of the ball (powered by Alozie's shot) or whether Ihezuo or Deborah would redirect it. Alozie’s goal is also similar to Uche’s free kick goal vs Greece at the 2010 World Cup. The Greek keeper’s movement was obstructed by the Eagles players in front of him |

daveP: Okobi raised a good observation with that tweet. Why are the Naija Journalists in particular barely hyping Halimatu Ayinde despite her b2b show up in the middle of the pack across the last 6years? Why? They hype others but when it's her i can barely see an article or some top top noise or focus on her.
For example, The way SA hypes Mothlalo since 2019..... It may have something to do with her attractive she is perceived by the pundits. Let’s be honest, especially with regard to women’s sports, attractiveness plays an outsized role in how a player is hyped (or not) |

I hope Wakama would thoroughly explain her surprise inclusion of Ogoke to us, because her inclusion makes no sense to me.
If she was brought on as a member of Wakama’s backroom staff, that would be entirely understandable, given Ogoke’s wealth of experience in the game. But bringing her along as a player, and denying another more active player a coveted spot, is frankly ridiculous. |

We cannot replicate that 2nd half performance in the final, otherwise it would be a different story.
Our ladies’ decision-making has to be a bit quicker, especially in the midfield. Too many times in the match, our ladies took 4 or more seconds ti decide whether to make a pass, or run with the ball.
It’s the on-field decision-making that separates the elite teams from the mid level ones. |
