I get your point, but under the rules governing the VSR system being used at the tournament, only goals (or incidents leading to goals) and straight red cards trigger an automatic review by the referee. Anything else, such as penalty appeals, have to be challenged/petitioned by the concerned team..

We won yesterday so it didn't matter but on the day it matters, I pray the God of football favour us.

I counted like 3 blatant penalty that we were denied in the first half. The incidences were not even reviewed. But the ref had no issue spending minutes watching replays of incidences that were not decisive.

One thing I'm sure of is that Dominican republic or any other American country would have been awarded at least three penalties in the first half alone assuming reverse was the case.

It was Coach Olowokeere’s job to call for a challenge with regard to those potential penalties. But I guess he didn’t want to be left with just one challenge..

By the end of the group stage, the Flamingoes may end up with 100+ attempts on goal, and 40+ attempts on target 😁

Moreover, I think Chidi should start Wednesday’s game to give her an opportunity to rack a potential easy hat trick. But Moshood could be rested because she is already on a yellow.

Looking back at that 4th goal against Ecuador, the referee could have ruled it out for offside because one of our players was literally 3ft in front of the goalkeeper.
But I guess the fact that she moved away, not towards, the ball was the reason why the goal stood.

Imagine if Air Peace is being run as a sole proprietorship, that would mean that the DOJ may also have gone after the airline’s assets; which would invariably cause the airline to suspend operations and/or layoff a good chuck of their staff.

The story has been on like forever . I remember few years back when Sahara reporters did an article in home alleging the airline was funded by proceeds of the Niger delta amnesty program under Yar Adua/Jonathan which was illegally diverted .

As at that time, a lot of people dismissed the report suggesting it was hatchet job sponsored by Onyeama’s detractors . Some people were even looking at things with a tribal lens even when whole wahala was involving the American government/laws.

The guy should go and face his warrant or keep running away from America like Buruji did till his demise .

It never made sense to me as to why many people decided to view this matter though a tribal lens, or by insinuating that the U.S. wants to prevent Air Peace from competing with Delta 🤣

If the U.S. were afraid of an African airline competing with the likes of United or Delta, then Ethiopian Airlines wouldn’t either be flying into FIVE different U.S. cities or their frequencies would have been greatly cut by the FAA; or worse, ETH senior execs would have also come under DOJ investigation…

Yes. This tournament (just like the U-20 WC) utilizes the VRS system, whereby teams can make two challenges to a referee’s decision per game. Then, if a team’s first challenge is successful, they will gain an additional challenge opportunity.
But if the first challenge is unsuccessful ie the referee doesn’t change the original decision upon video review, then that team would have one challenge left..

This system is basically a low-cost VAR system that FIFA is trialling to determine whether it can be used as a substitute to the VAR system for countries/competitions that cannot afford to utilize the more expensive VAR system
