Just did some rough calculations and I found that the FG would generate a max of 400 billion Naira annually from the 25% tax proposal…which wouldn’t make a significant dent on the federal budget deficit |

OasisX: TOP 4 Economies in Africa and their effective power generating capacities:
1. South Africa ~40,000 Megawatts
2. Egypt ~ 40,000 Megawatts
3. Algeria ~ 50,000 Megawatts
4. Nigeria ~ 7,000 Megawatts What a shame! Ideally, Nigeria should be generating 100,000 - 120,000 megawatts if we are serious about becoming a true economic power and consequently lifting millions of out people out of poverty |

Aso Rock wants to tax individuals who earn N100 million or more per month, a 25% tax rate. In fact, the bill is before the National Assembly…
Would a 25% tax rate on the wealthy raise a significant amount of money to (at least partially) run the federal government?🤔 |

budaatum: Boeing is cleaning up mess. IjeBos: Boeing's been struggling for a while with safety issues. This isn't surprising. If it weren't for their government contracts it may be worse. That's the problem with lobbyists and connections, you get too comfortable. bemeruca: this is understandable. Boeing went DEI now they have lost quality and you go woke you go broke. I agree, aside from the DEI angle. The bad press that they’re generated over the last year or so was bound to lead to some negative consequences. But I didn’t expect them to cut 10% of the workforce in one fell swoop. Moreover, if more airlines decide to ditch Boeing and pitch their tents with Airbus (or Embraer), more job cuts would be inevitable. |

raumdeuter: Those are 17K people who will be thrown on the job market in an already tough job market. I wonder what will be top on these guys mind going into the election. The loss of jobs, economy or someone calling them a bad name and sending mean tweets For sure, it would be the economy that would be at the top of their minds. But they may have it easier than others looking for jobs, if Boeing pays them a severance that is equal to 2 months of their regular salary |

Lol. Nigerian local government elections are an absolute joke, where the governor’s party always “sweeps” all chairmanship and councilorship offices. 🤣🤣
Anyways, as the APP has won the majority of LG chairmanship seats in Rivers, does that mean Fubara has decamped to that party 👀 |
