Politics › Re: Frank Alleges Fresh Plot By Buhari, APC To Arrest, Kill Atiku by Peacecore: 12:29pm On Apr 11, 2019 |
chidima2019: A former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has accused President Muhammadu Buhari and the leadership of the APC of plotting to arrest former Vice President and presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar on trumped up charges of treasonable felony.
Frank in a statement made available to newsmen on Thursday in Abuja, said that according to authoritative sources in the Villa, how to kill Atiku – who is currently challenging the victory of General Buhari in the last elections – has been the subject of series of hushed-up security meetings by the Aso Rock Cabal in the past few weeks.
He disclosed that the sinister plot against Atiku has commenced with the planting and spreading of fake news by members of the cabal purporting that Atiku has paid lobbyist in the United States of America the sum of $30,000 to lobby the U.S. Congress not to recognise the fraudulent re-election of Buhari for a second term.
He said that the grand plot is to arrest Atiku on arrival from his vacation abroad and clamp him into jail for alleged treason.
He stated that, “as part of the overall design to liquidate the former Vice President, the Buhari Media Organization (BMO) has already called on the nation’s security agencies to “probe Atiku” – a euphemism for arrest and kangaroo trial – for allegedly seeking the ‘Venezuelan option’ by lobbying the U.S. Congress not to recognize the re-election of General Buhari.”
He said that after the planned arrest and detention of Atiku, the Presidential Candidate of the PDP would suddenly be pronounced dead in prison just like the winner of the June 12 Presidential Election, Chief Moshood Abiola, who died in questionable circumstances in prison while seeking to reclaim his stolen mandate during the General Sani Abacha’s Junta.
He disclosed that the sole aim of wanting Atiku out of the way at all cost is borne out of desperation, “the cabal having realized that Buhari’s purported victory during the last presidential election cannot withstand forensic judicial scrutiny, which the former Vice President is now poised to unravel before the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal.”
He disclosed that information available to him further that the presidency has ordered all APC state governors to pull down all Atiku’s Billboards in their states and in their place erect others with inciting and incendiary messages just like they have started to execute with the “PUKKA Posters” bearing the name and photograph of Atiku now placed at strategic positions at the Central Business District in Abuja.
The Bayelsa-born political activist however warned Buhari and his evil plotters to desist from acts capable of eclipsing democracy in the country and with untold consequences for all Nigerians.
He stated that any attempt to frustrate and foreclose the judgement of the Presidential Elections Petitions Tribunal by arresting Atiku and sending him to jail, preparatory to his murder will ignite the anger of Nigerians and bring cataclysmic tragedies never before witnessed in the history of the country.
He called on patriotic Nigerians and members of the international community, especially the General Abdulsalami Abubakar’s Peace Committee and the United States and United Kingdom respectively not to gloss over events of monumental proportions currently being incubated by General Buhari and his men, in the interest of peace and democratic sustainability in the country.

Politics › Re: Onnoghen’s Preemptive Resignation Rattles Presidency by Peacecore: 10:30am On Apr 06, 2019 |
godlyguy: To avoid humiliation of being retired by the Presidency , former Chief Justice of the Federation, Walter Onnoghen, threw in the towel in a game of survival that has subsumed the Judiciary within the Executive arm of government. Furthermore, the principle of Federal Character has finally been buried in the political arrangement of the country. The National Judicial Council, NJC, has immediately after their decision on Onnoghen, dispatched their postion to the Presidency. Almost immediately, Onnoghen, through the Chief of Staff to the federal government, Abba Kyari, submitted his resignation letter. The resignation takes effect immediately. With this, he preempted the planned retirement by the presidency, who were said to be planning a soft landing, thereby giving the impression of presidential magnanimity. The Presidency, according to sources, is yet to come to terms with the next line of action. hence the presidency has kept sealed lips over the issue, though Garba Shehu was said to be in Saudi Arabia for Haj while Femi Adesina is on Buhari’s entourage to the ongoing Economic Summit in the Arab World. Both were spokespersons for the Presidency. With this, all important positions are finally in the hands of Northen Buhari loyalists. From May 29, the CJN, The President of the Court of Appeal and Head of the Federal High Court will all be Northerners. Same goes for Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, Chairman of the EFCC, Director of the NFIU, Inspector General of Police, Director general of DSS, DG NIA, DG DIA, Defense Minister, NSA, Chief of Air staff, Chief of Army staff. They are all from Muslim North. The Head of the Executive is already there, and both Legislatuive chambers are also expected to follow suit. Onnoghen’s travail started a long time ago. Once gave a minority report on the Supreme Court judgement upholding one of Buhari’s foyers into Presidential contest. Buhari had gone to court to challenge the election results. While Ambassador Nsofor, who is now retired Supreme Court Judge, also wrote a minority report in favor of Buhari, the octagenarian was appointed Ambassador to the United States. When Buhari took over power, Onnoghen was the highest ranking Justice of the Supreme Court. And that was where the battle began. Buhari had immediately started to interfere with the Judiciary in his bid to completely Northernise governance, which he had succeeded in other areas except the Judiciary. The National Judicial Commission, NJC, preempted him and broke protocol. Instead of submitting names of the three most senior judges, which could have included Ibrahim Tanko and Onnoghen for tyhe presidency to choose from, they submitted only the name of Onnoghen. This means Buhari had no choice than to approve Onnoghen. Buhari refused to send Onnoghen’s name to the Senate for approval. The face-off was intense, but when Buhari went on his normal medical tourism in the United Kingdom, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo sent his name to the Senate for approval. The Senate confirmed him before Buhari could come back. And thus began the long battle of his removal. Some Lawyers, believed in some quarters to have been sponsored by the presidency, dragged him to the Code of conduct Tribunal for declaration of Asset infraction. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commision beamed their satelite on his finances, using a took comb to brush out the tinniest dirt on him. The Media trial began: figures, later proved to false in court, started flying all over the Nigerian media space. Five houses transformed to fifty five houses, a few millions transformed to billions. Onnoghen was undoubtedly facing his Golgotha. Enter the election period. Onnoghen, as the Chief Justice, has the prerogative to appoint and inaugurate the judges that will handle the fall out the elections. Allegations from opposition quarters indicate that he was presented with a list from the presidency which he rejected. The Presidency was said to be piqued with the rejection. On the eve of his inauguration of the judges, Presidency struck, suspending him based on the CCT trial. He based his suspension on the humongous figure being bandied about in the media. Then he appointed Tanko as acting CJ, thereby turning the Law on it’s head. Tanko went ahead to swear in those on the presidency list, which ironically was alleged to have included some dead Judges. His appointment was done without recourse to the NJC as required by law. It was after his appointment that the NJC was reached out to, and the EFCC petitioned the NJC as was the custom. Because Tanko was also petitioned against, the NJC, with a Northern interim chairman, recused both of them, requiring them to answer to the allegations before them. Suddenly, the CCT that suspended trial on Onnoghen started in full force, in violation of court order declaring otherwise. The NJC wisely waited until after the presidential results to know who is the incoming president before reaching a decision: Retire Onnoghen and make Tanko the substantive CJ. It is not clear whether the national Assembly will confirm him, but they may as well wait for the 9th senate, which they are already working on an alleged rubber stamp senate president

KwoiZabo: I don't blame Tinubu, I blame people like the writer (who are so many with us here in Lagos) for making Tinubu Powerful. Another thing that makes tinubu powerful is that many Yorubas think/know that if Tinubu's dynasty fails, it will open Lagos political space and allow "non-indigenes" to have a greater say in Lagos politics, so Tinubu is a rallying point. Talking about, IGR and development, Lagos has performed averagely. I can count 10 stets that has performed better than Lagos since the return to democracy. Lagos is the dirtiest state, has the worst roads etc the only thing that works for lagos and makes its IGR high is (1) Its location, (2) its the defunct capital of the country - FG left massive infrastructure like Ports (Sea & Air), Bridges (3rd Mainland etc), Stadiums, National theatre, Housing Estates, Buildings (braod street) etc. No state can boast of all these. (3) Security - I must give this to the yorubas, they are Peaceful unlike the North and NigerDelta.

MANofMEN: ONNOGHEN HAS FOULED THE TEMPLE OF JUSTICE, AND MUST NOT BE TREATED WITH KID GLOVES - BMO
The failure of Justice Walter Onnoghen (suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, (CJN)) to declare his assets and thus breaching the Code of Conduct expected from Judicial Officers, among several other malfeasances and breach of the Money Laundering Act, are too grave to be treated with kids gloves, the Buhari Media Organisation (BMO) has stated.
The group in a statement signed by Niyi Akinsiju and Cassidy Madueke, its Coordinator and Secretary respectively, noted that the offences that are being prosecuted and that have been petitioned against Justice Walter Onnoghen have tainted the sanctity of the judiciary and are not matters to be played with or treated with levity.
“Justice Walter Onnoghen is alleged to have outrightly failed to declare some of his assets. In fact, he declared only salary accounts but failed to declare accounts where he had funds that were far above his legitimate earnings as a public officer.
“There is also no evidence that he ever declared his assets since his appointment as a judicial officer from 1989 up until 2016. This is an outright breach of the Code of Conduct for Public Officers under the 1999 Constitution. And is the least expected from a man who sat at the pinnacle of Nigeria’s Judiciary, and who should ordinarily be the one to mete punishments to others who commit such breaches.
“The ‘Chief Justice of Nigeria’ is also alleged to have had money that he could not reasonably explain the source, but which were lodged in various accounts operated by him. He had over 1.7 Million Dollars in his dollar accounts which he conspicuously never declared.”
The group went further to highlight that the receipt by the Justice Onnoghen of pecuniary gifts from various lawyers who had cases in his court breached the Rules of Judicial Conduct which outrightly prohibits Judges from receiving pecuniary gifts from lawyers who had cases before them.
“Justice Onnoghen received several gifts, ranging from a luxury car worth 7 Million Naira to a deposit of $30,000 from lawyers who had cases before him.”
BMO further criticised Justice Onnoghen for maintaining suspicious relationships with lawyers who had serious cases in his court, noting that such conducts created perceptions of bias which is against the Rules of Judicial Conduct.
The group noted that Justice Onnoghen failed to maintain the minimum standard of decorum expected from Judicial officers.
“The many infractions of Justice Walter Onnoghen are so grave, they have fouled the temple of Justice.
“It is even most unfortunate that this man was sitting in the highest Judicial office of the land. He has embarrassed the legal profession and brought shame and disdain to the judiciary.
“We must not treat this matter with kids gloves. We expect the toughest sanctions to be meted out to him. What Justice Onnoghen has done does not deserve mercy but serious punitive and corrective sanctions that must send a clear message to other members of the Bench, while assuring Nigerians that the Judiciary still remains the last hope for the common and even uncommon man.”
The group called on Nigerians to support President Buhari’s fight against corruption, as he has dared the near-impossible and is successfully ridding Nigeria of corrupt elements and restoring trust and confidence in Nigeria’s justice system. He shud go to jail jare if he is found guilty of d charges |
