hi @ peaceful2016,i am trying to apply for visa for my mum to go with me to canada in june,i have pr status but i dont live in canada yet and i would like to know what type of visa you applied for your mum(family visitor or tourist),how you did the accommodation part of it(if you had to book hotel or not) and if you had to make flight reservations.
Thank you
Hi I replied your email but i didn't get any other response from you. For the accommodation I used a family member's address since I'm not there yet. That's the same address I used during soft landing. Also it was family visitor visa I did since I wrote an invitation letter

Dear all, please I need clarification.

I am post ITA. Our daughter has only a US passport. Can we process our canada PR with her US Passport or do we need to apply for a Nigeria passport for her? Please which is better

Any advice/ suggestions would be appreciated
I used only the US passport for my children's application and there were no issues. I stated their country as USA and used their US birth certificate as well.

and is their budget included with staying in a hotel
No the budget didn't include staying in a hotel
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Peaceful2016(f): 5:25am On Jan 16, 2019
I submitted a tourist visa application for my parents and it got approved in about 1 week. I think it's probably due to their extensive travel history. See timeline below:

Submitted January 6
Biometrics request January 7
Biometrics done January 9
Passport request January 14

I stated I was paying for travel tickets. I have PR status but I'm still in Naija presently so I used my Nigerian account statement and stated I'll be in Canada at the time of their trip. Then I kept their budget low at 2000 CAD for both of them so it didn't seem like they wanted to use all the funds in their account for the trip.

Hello guru’s I applied and did my Biometric in Abuja on 19th October, 2018.. I got a letter today that the VO is concerned that my bank statement his fraudulent. I’m told to reply in 10days before final decision is made.
How do I reply to this because my statement of account is genuine.?
The letter was written to me on November 2018 but I got the email today meaning it’s over 10days but final decision hasn’t been made in my application.
Am I going to submit another up to date statement of account or what am I going to do?
I'm guessing you may have responded by now, but let me just give a suggestion for someone who may face this in the future. I think you can get a letter from the bank stating the date account was opened and the current balance (like a reference letter), an updated account statement (showing transactions from when u submitted to date) and then include a cover letter (just write plenty English that the account is genuine as evidenced by d bank reference letter and updated statement, you have been doing transactions since, etc)

Since she didn't do medicals, her visa allows her stay in Canada for 6 months at every visit... I'm guessing she can always go to Yankee and come back and let another 6 months start counting grin
Seniors correct me if im wrong

I have been corrected that the above is not correct.. there r laws against it
Niceyenuf:
Hi beautiful people,
A little bit of a success story and some questions as well.
I applied for my mum to visit me in Canada on October 12, 2018 (I applied for a 3 month visit). Biometrics done October 24. Original Passport request: December 7. Visa about 5 days after.
I must admit I was initially bothered because she was not asked to do a medical test and thought she would be given less than 6 months but she got almost 2 years (to passport expiry).
Online app:
Documents submitted:
Pension statement
For me was just a letter from my employer showing I was employed and my yearly pay.
Letter of invitation.
Letter of sponsorship
Plus all online documents required.

My questions:
Is it advisable for her to stay more than 6 months? Saw something about not staying more than six months at a time even they give you a number of years.
If she can stay more than 6 months, must she book a return ticket? Will a one way ticket create issues at the point of entry.

Thanks for your help guys. smiley

I got SINP invitation to submit an application even though the NOC I filled on SINP EE(3234) is different from the one in my FSW EE profile(3112).
The job descriptions are related and may overlap.

I hope this will not be a problem later?
Please is there anyone here with experience in this?
Help me please.
Thanks.
I think it is better if both NOCs match to avoid stories that touch the heart grin Just go and update your EE profile to match what you filled for SINP before you submit your application to SINP

My driver's license was issued in my married name because my naija license was in my married name. My passport/COPR bear my maiden name.

@peaceful. Strange how the reason the lady gave you is the same reason I was told my license has to be in my married name.
I guess it depends on the drive test center. Please which one did u go to so I can direct my friend there. She just landed and has the same issue. She won't mind having her driver's license in her married name.

Good day all

Has any landed senior had their current Nigerian Licence in their married name, whilst their passport/copr was in the maiden name?

I hope this didn't prove to be an issue when applying for a canadian license?

Any one with first hand info should please help.

Regards
I didn't have any issue with the above. My G1 license was issued in my maiden name. The lady at the drive test center said she had to use the name on my COPR & intl passport not d name on my license or letter from FRSC.

Hello people
I got my PPR in January and did short landing in May. I had initially planned to return around March/April next year, but I'm having a rethink now. I'm now considering returning in December. However, I'm a bit scared because of the weather. So I'm just here to ask experienced people their opinions on moving to Canada finally in December. What are the pros and cons in your opinion. Any feedback will be helpful. Thanks

What did it say? Was it of any use? Did it set your application back in motion? Sorry for the plenty questions.
I don't know if it set it in motion cos I requested in November and it was generated that same November but I didn't see any movement till January. But the reviewing officers comment from the notes gave me some form of peace and comfort that my application was fine

Thank you.
I didn't go through SINP but I was planning to before scores started dropping in 2017. I also know a couple of people that got SINP nomination
Your degree has to be related to your NOC.
For example, You can't use a microbiology bsc alone to get nomination for a finance related NOC... You may scale through if u have another degree (masters, ond, pgd) or certification (ACCA, ican, etc) that's finance related
TEECANN:
@Peaceful2016

Congrats on your PPR. Such a sweet news to start the year.

BTW, I have been searching around for you for a while, it obvious you re not always around here.

I read one of your posts...maybe on the PART 2 of EE thread where you mentioned that SINP does not accept degree not matching ones work experience unlike FSWP

How true is this? Please can you shed a little light on this as I guess you re a SINP PNP.

Thank you as it I know that it has already started ending in praise!

Am having similar case of date of birth issue and the year gap is about 2yrs. Am considering using IQAS since the evaluation report does not carry DOB. Please what's your advice
I'm not very sure if IQAS carries date of birth or not but if u haven't started the process, u can try contacting the school to amend the DOB(if possible). Otherwise u can try the affidavit route. I had to go that route cos I had completed the process already before I realised that the WES ECA had date of birth.
I didn't want to spend another money starting from scratch and getting the school to amend records.

I started writing this in faith on 22 Aug. 17 when my application was just 21 days cos I wanted to highlight the grey areas in my application. Plus, I didn’t want to forget anything when the joy and excitement of PPR set in.
1) Date of Birth discrepancy on Transcript and WES – I got an Affidavit to explain that the discrepancy was an error from the University and that my correct date of Birth was clearly stated on my Birth certificate and Int’l passport which I attached.
2) Various names used on my documents i.e. maiden name vs married name – I had done a newspaper change of name after marriage but I never got around to changing the name on my int’l passport because the process was longer when I got married. I got a one and the same Person affidavit to clearly state that the both names should be considered as variations of my name and not name changes.
3) My passport is in my maiden name and had exactly 6 months validity at the point of submitting my application. I applied for a new one (still in my maiden name Cos I didn’t want any delay) and uploaded to CIC via a CSE
4) Details entered for Education and Work History for my spouse before ITA were moved to Personal History post ITA – I moved it cos I didn’t do ECA for my spouse plus we didn’t bother to get a reference letter from his employers. I included in my letter of explanation that the required documents were not available currently
5) Proof of funds was in a joint account – I attached a letter of consent from my spouse
6) Birthday occurred between ITA and AOR. This should have taken my CRS score below the minimum score for the round i got ITA for. However, It didn't affect our application, I guess they applied the exemption policy here
7)Asides from my Letter of explanation, I Included a cover letter for the various sections I felt needed some explanation and also to make it tidy e.g. proof of funds, work experience, education (cause of 2 above) etc.

Finally, I would like to say that no two applications are the same. What applies for one may not apply for the next person. Feel free to ask me questions I will answer to the best of my knowledge

The only place she can do that is Abuja Passport office.
I don't think the person I know went to Abuja. I can find out, I know it cost him a lot of money but he had to change it eventually cos SINP (Saskatchewan) insisted he change it prior to nominating him despite his letter of explanation

Good morning house and compliment of the season to us all. A quick question please. Can one get into the EE pool and end up getting a PR with a wrong date of birth on international passport without issues. Correct date of birth is 1983. This is the year of birth in all documents excluding international passport that has 1981 (travelled to the UK with same passport) getting to change the year of birth with Nigeria immigration proved abortive.

Would it be cool getting into the pool with this year of birth since all other document has a valid year of birth except the passport or would still have to get the year of birth changed. Thanks
kindly get your date of birth amended on the int'l passport. Its possible cos I know someone who got it done. Talk to your passport agent, it will cost extra money but it is possible

add more money to the card... They usually block at a higher rate initially when you make the payment. They'll debit you later a the appropriate rate for that day

Good day guys, I have got some enquiry to make.A friend of mine told me she was rejected from the sakschewaten provincial nomination on the basis that her educational qualification does not agree with her Job experience.

She is an ICT person and read Microbiology. My belief is that for FSW the field of educational qualification is irrelevant as long as the appicant has got experience in the Nominated NOC.

I would need some assurance in the light of the new revelation about my friends rejection.
For Saskatchewan nomination (SINP) your NOC and degree have to match e.g. Maths or statistics graduate can apply as statistician or financial analyst. But for direct FSW (when you get ITA without provincial nomination) it doesn't have to match, you just need to show experience in your NOC

The funniest and most expensive joke I have heard from Nigerians doing menial jobs in the US. and earning between $1,500- $2,000, is claiming that they are richer than bank managers in Nigeria. I guess they make their money in America while spending it in Nigeria. This stupid joke need to stop. A Nigerian doing menial job in the US. at best can be compare to someone receiving 80,000 Monthly in Nigeria in purchasing power. A Nigerian doing odd jobs for 10 yrs will still be paying rent while a 10 yrs bank manager would have long built two to three houses with a lucrative investment. Nigerians in America need to stop converting currencies because it is clearly stated that if you earn $12,000 annually in America you are living in poverty
In reality... How many bank managers have 2 to 3 houses in 10 years? Also how many bankers get promoted to manger in 10years... If you said staff of multinationals (esp. Oil companies), then I would totally agree. My opinion is if you are a hustler, intelligent and you work smart you can make it anywhere in the world. All countries have their pros and cons.

Hello, Many thanks for this. the example u gave me was exactly what I did. I clicked NOC 6235-Financial Sales Representatives. under the job title, I typed Assistant Banking Officer and submitted. only to get the "Ineligible Notification in my box".
You need to check all the information you filled properly. You are probably getting ineligible because you didn't meet the 67/100 eligibility score. Your selected NOC is under skill level B so it should be the issue
