Not necessarily a PIPe Hole Interconnecting both Balconies. Both Balconies have been Piped Separately with Big Enough Drains (100mm Pipe) all the way Down, such that when it rains, it slopes directly to Drains and out, so there will never be a pool of water

However I am concerned at one of the attached pictures,
when it rains, there is the likelihood that the occupants will have pools of water here since there is a small pillar like structure demarcation as shown in the attached picture.
Please educate me more on if this will not be a challenge. perhaps having a small pipe hole underneath to ensure interconnect will be fine?

I guess this is what you're looking for. Had this installed in my kitchen exit door and something similar at the main gate (don't have its pics now). It doesn't have handle outside. Costs N4,500 or something when I bought it in 2013.

Please I noticed that some manual gates; in addition (or as substitute for) padlocks have normal door keys installed to the pedestrian side such that a key can be used to open it from outside/inside.
I feel this is better than having to create a hole for unlocking inner padlocks from outside and also useful when you don't have a gateman or when locked from inside and you are coming home late; rather than disturb the family just use your key.
My concern however is durability given that the keyset will be exposed to the weather. The concern is that it may fail at a critical time.
Please is there anyone in the house who is using keysets on their manual pedestrian gate and what advise can you give on same.
Are there specialised door locks suitable for external all weather use?

@ rotecch77 : Thanks sir. Was actually referring to door locks, not padlocks. Already have padlock on the pedestrian side but I have to keep knocking for someone to open from inside the padlock/throwbolt anytime I am out, local options is to cut a small slot for the one outside to be able to unlock the padlock. That cutting is what I want to avoid by using a door lock type.
