can we talk a little about plumbing (its part of your thread title grin)
How is testing done for pipes already laid to ensure no leakage before tiles are laid?
what are the likely requirements and likely cost implications for a simple 4 bedroom structure wink
Thanks sir

@ Dominionng
Thanks a lot for this.
apart from decorative purpose is there any other reason (supportive/structural) for its use with chandeliers?
Thanks

Dominionng:
That size? 1k. 2k max. You can get it anywhere POP products is being sold. I hope this isn't meant for bedrooms? Over the years, I've seen ceiling medallions being mis-used. Ceiling medallions and ceiling domes are ideally to be used where there will be chandelier. Not drop lights, not cover lights, not ceiling lights.

Thanks,
my 'impression' was meant as a joke; I follow some good people here so gets regular updates.
Thanks. Just want us all to concentrate not only on building the structure but also on furnishing it which seems to be an aspect lacking adequate attention on NL.

@peaceland, God will help you complete the project. You took the right step by starting it, but let me quickly correct your impression about this thread. It as never being of wine, women or girls from the begining. It's about serous minded people with interest in building and builders share ideas and knowledge on how to do this right.

Good day all;
Initially this thread seems to be only about wine & women and I was totally uninterested.
Thankfully the boat seems to be moving in more interesting directions now.
I am really trying to crack my head on how to go about finishing of a house.
I have a small ongoing project and by the time I ran estimates for the fittings: (POP-PVC-Tiles-Painting-Sanitary fittings-Electrical fittings-PHCN-Solar power-Fence plastering-compound flooring-cabinets/wardrobes) i realized that the cost far outstrips the cost of putting the structures up in the first place!!!.
I will appreciate some tips on how to go about this. Trust me the estimates are all simple ones; not fanciful so when I see a lot of fanciful things going on; I keep wondering how people are doing it really.
This project makes me to really appreciate my parents a lot; they were able to achieve theirs with much more less resources and more mouths to feed!!.
As an aside; Please how do you determine the type of PVC clips (U; H; L) to use for a building ceiling. Thank you
Thank you.

Sir,
Please what is the difference between a : 1 Gang 1 Way switch & a 1 Gang 2 way switch.
Thanks
Modified: I guess the gang refers to how many buttons on the switch e.g 1-3 that can be pressed. it can either go up or down so not sure what 1 way or 2 way is (assuming I am right with my understanding of gang sir)

anyone knows where I can get good information on how to raise one successfully as a first timer?.

Now that is a very good point, cable size.
BUT I disagree with you on the pwm, pwm has it's uses too and can deliver is you are not using them in a large setup.
Sir,
This is your faithful student; I was caught in traffic that is why I was late to class. Pardon me sir.
Please can you explain more on this cable sizing?
Does that refers to cables from the panels on the roof to the battery and inverters or from the inverter to the switch over or from the switch over to the various points of usage.
Why I am asking is I already have cables installed for from the point where inverter will be to the point of changeover and from change over to the various outlets, how will this cable sizing stuff affect me
Thank you

Gooday Oga Hajj,

I would want to inform you of some of the bad experience i had with a nairaland builder i patronized, how do i report that,so others wont fall into the same situation. If i can have your number to call you as the moderator of this section before i go all out to let the world know.

Thanks and God bless.I await your reply.
perhaps you can elaborate more on the particulars without mentioning the name or mention the user name or the type of services the person provided so as to help others.
Having a bad experience (which may be an occasional mistake by the builder) does not mean the person is bad though but how he handles the bad experience also counts in service delivery and may help others.
Thank you

This is an area the property section seems to be lacking information - how to get property registered especially in Ogun State.
I have a property that I have been processing the C of O for ages now.
The information I keep getting is that governor is yet to sign
for Home charter you are expected to be resident in the place already/or the property in use already though it it possible not all applicants are at that stage.
I will advice you cc @mufutau55 and @lawyer (omo-onile lawyer). Honestly most of us in that zone needs good help in that aspect.
thank you

Basement? In Nigeria? How will you prevent flooding and soaking of the walls when rain water goes down? I think they call it mildew or something.
same question I wanted to ask (especially the soaking/dampness aspect)
I believe it is for personal security reasons but not sure the structure will not be subject to dampness.
I have seen such structures before but the ones I know have at least 1 side of the walls fully exposed to the outside; used for a steep sloping land area.
Glad the op is back though; this thread was highly informative in the past.

the rate at which wood is being used is higher than new trees planted. As such we run the risk of using up faster. sorry phone typing
