UcLloyd: I recently relocated to the east (I got a better job).) I noticed I make more trips here in the east more in Lagos. What could be the reason? I'm like 10 rides away from winning bolt 5k (55 rides) bonus. Something I would have laughed off when I was in Lagos.
I work half day Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Then other days I start by 10 or 11am and close by 8 or 9pm or earlier
There are answers by veterans to all these in previous pages, but let me try in my lil way
1. Since you're sure of raising about 2m, you can never be wrong with Corolla. If your money can't get Coro, there are other cars like Honda civic, city, big daddy, elantra (but parts quite expensive). You can not go wrong with civic also, it is becoming more adopted for this job and quite cheaper than coro, with good fuel economy.
2. If you can drive already, all you need do is to learn how to use google map. You may start using google map in your place now to master Gmap. Where people often get it wrong is "at about 40m, take left" or "take the next turning by the left" and whereas, the next turning might not be the one Gmap recognises, you need to learn how to check your map and confirm the next turning you're or approaching is the right one by looking at your location on the map and the next direction map is telling you to take. You get to understand Gmap as you use it more often.
3. If you're coming to lag soon, it is advisable you registerter in Lagos because you might not have been called for capturing back home by the time you will be coming to Lagos, which means having to go back jome for capturing if you're already in lagos. Look for pattyb or something on NL, she does DL and reliable.
4. You need comprehensive/third party insurance, road worthiness, necessary cat docs. I dont know if hackney and lasdri are compulsory for new driver, you may inquire about this from this thread.
Once your temp DL is out, even if you're yet to get a car, I advise you register on uber and go for training so that you can upload your vehicle when it arrives and hit the ground running with uber, and then go ahead with bolt.
Good luck.
Chazleeray: A wonderful morning to everyone in this family, It gladens my heart to see a thread like this, i greet you all. Please am currently in owerri but will be heading to Lagos by December. I've been able to save up a little funds from the petty trade i do in owerri, My elder bro is insisting i go into uber and he's willing to assist me and I'm ready, we might be able to raise withing 1.5-2million by next week. But am in severe need of advice. 1) what kind of car is advisable to purchase as a newbie and how do i ensure is purely Belgium use from a well reliable source 3) Since i"ll be learning how to drive here in Lagos. Please how fast and easy can i Learn to navigate the Lagos road 3) how can i start applying for my drivers licence here in Lagos 4) how long does it take to get all the required documents to start uber and how best should i go about it. Please i really appreciate everyone here and your candid advice is needed.
PotatoSalad: You look at what the person earns and forgot about inflation. PlayStation 5 is 240k @480/$ when it shouldn't be more than 80k. Always look at inflation. Even if the increased rate favours your earnings, you aren't gaining much if price of items are 5x their original price.
Yes, the inflation rates will still not affect anyone who earns in dollars.
You're only looking at it from meagre earning. If you're earning good cash in dollars from Nigeria, falling naira will be in your advantage. Do you buy ps5 everyday or car everyday? How much is onions that will erase the advantage you have when you earn abiut $1k weekly? Imagine earning $4k in a month and you're saying you will care about the price of onions of Ps5.
You're immune to inflation if you earn in dollars while naira crashes.
Do you know you can even buy all these things like ps5 and cars online with the dollars you earn? It is worth of naira that makes these items that costly so what's the fuss about these times when you already have dollars and no need to buy dollars to buy these items.
Move with people who earn online, they won't join you lament naira crash.
PotatoSalad: And you'll still buy things at 4x their original price. For your mind it's better. How much is common gino tomato paste sachet now? Olodo
The rate at which dollars has increased easily overrides that. Imagine someone that made $1k weekly/monthly (about 190k-200k) in 2015, today, same $1k is about 500k. Will that person worry about tomato price when he makes 500k weekly/monthly?
Increasing dollar-naira rate pays people that earns majorly and high in dollars.
Please I need your opinion on which is a better car for e-hailing between a matrix and a Corolla. They are both toks and of the same year.
Thanks
Go for matrix; less prone to vandals/robbers Its booth can conveniently carry more items than corolla. It is almost as strong as Corolla and I think relatively less expensive than coro.
Bro, I was there before, I know how frustrating the search can be.
May God help us all.
sharpk007: Asin eeennn... D way U dey help quote d guy always...
Well he might be doing the work underneath by picking d number and chatting or calling the people.
I could remember like 2yrs ago wen I was hunting for a car for rental, any post on car rental or HP like dis, I don call, send message, less Dan 2 weeks I got a car after declining like 5 offers due to contract negotiations.
@coker007 don't relent but be very very strategic .
starchris: Please is anyone using Honda city for ehalling? I just bought one recently for this hustle. Naija use Honda city 2009. 1.5L engine. I would have gone for civic 06/08 but it's not spacious for me cox of my height but the 2009 city look small but very spacious. Please I would like to know if anyone hear is using the car and what are the possible challenges to expect from the car.
It is good, even has a better fuel economy than the civic. Where many people comminly get it wrong with city is the wrong gear oil.
Radautoworks, please what's the correct gear oil for city.
Modified: I can see people have already told you about the transmission oil being one of the primary causes of city problem, if wrong oil is used.
Luxurydriverng: DIY || I just did this routine car maintenance myself. If you own a car you too can do it.
The last time I did this in a mechanics workshop I was charged 5k but eventually paid 3k. Recently I've been home without earning from driving so I just thought of saving some few bucks by doing it my self.
I have a corolla 2007 Tokunbo. I bought it 1month ago for personal use but I am considering using it for Uber business. My challenge is how to get a good driver to partner with. I can't drive it myself.
Important things to have; 1. Car charger and USB cord. 2. Car Holder, preferably AC vent car holder to keep your phone cool.
Don't honour without having these as a new driver who doesn't know roads.
Blinking44: After several weeks of battling fear of starting bolt driving, I finally came out to drive on the platform today. Below are my one-day experience; I started in the afternoon (around 1pm), finished 3 trips around 5pm. All the riders I picked are in a hurry and most of them said I'm slow ( well, its my first time, but I didn't let them know, I'm not conversant with most of the roads, but Google map saved me, it helped me in all the trips, ) My earnings on the three trip was 6800. All the trips was cash trip. 6200 was paid to me. Would have made more driving back home assuming my phone battery was not dead. The application consume battery and I was not with a USB charger.
All in all, it wasn't easy, even trying to please the riders.
Sorry to ask, were you a tomboy growing up or perhaps grew up among many guys? Your vibes here among men suggest so. Seem you feel homely & comfortable with men.
Ologogoro: Only if the loan is still active, but if he has refused to pay at as when due, the loan platform could report him through his BVN, trust me such action if taken can jeopardise his chances of taking loan anywhere
That's an assumption and never happened.
People that owed loan apps got paid, it is never a barrier to covid19 loan
jacobjamie: I think I will need to open another post and use the same headline but a part 2... Just so this particular post don't get to 99 pages lol, so u guys should follow up and let's enjoy the ride together with Mr Labie
Your new NL personality really confirms the bolded.
Wishing you more good luck..
dru23: Well we thank God , the engine oil business is doing ok . And also my drivers are doing well and maintenance cost of my civics are low .. So in other to keep them happy I didnt want to increase weekly delivery .. And I don't even do inspections anymore .. I am happy and drivers are happy to , no need to rock the boat .. Plus I still handle 100% repairs .........
In the past I stated that investors should only invest in few amount of cars on ehailing.. And they should not be put all there eggs in 1 basket ... so the few I have now am happy and I easily monitor them ...
In my humble advice 5 cars should be the maximum an investor should have on ehailing.. And invest in other business, when you do that the uber income will not be a die affair.... It is a tough business and I can't come and kill myself... it is not easy at all ,but so far I am contented with what I have.. And I have become selective on who I hire ....
Wow, you really went as low as 20k? What informed this decision please? Dru I knew before was pro-increased remittance.
I've actually observed a more changed, less combative and more cool dru these recent times.
dru23: Me I just stick 20k naira weekly, my drivers are honest hard working and my civic are low maintenance.. This is just me doing me o.. I am not advising anyone to follow my method o ....
From Your story, you want to start business with the loan if apporved and paid and yet want to give people from it? Do you know tue challenges of new business?
Loan isn't money to give people. You dont even have to pay tithe on loan because it is not your money.
Just pray yours is also approved and paid, and dont go about 'blessing' people with your loan when paid.
DeckeyLyrical: I want to use this medium to plead/ask those that have gotten their own to find a place in their heart to show love to some of us that still have BVN does not exist issue.
Even if it is the change on top the main money, I will be glad. I am not talking about bills to pay but at least to raise money to buy food.
If they finally remember some of us then I will bless people as well but if they couldn't attend to us, so be it. That's how God want it. I did all the necessary thing needed to be done just to get this money but it seems it is not working out.
I wrote down how to start up small business with this money but God knows the best!
Please kindly show me love even if na small token e no go bad
She will fuel the car, all the 50k is surely yours.
You can do other things the moment you drop her, as she said. It is dec 21-Jan 9, so, it is 150k+ whatever you make in Dec 1-20.
I never worked in December before, but if your 200k per week is true, then.................
kodred: What’s sweet about the offer? 50k weekly, max 40k net and be at the beck and call of one person in this ember months when I can gross over 200k in a week. So if I see a 2.2 surge ride to sangotedo from ojodu berger, I should not take it because I have someone to pick abi.
Guys this is not the time for offline o. Offlines are for when things are slow not now that everywhere is surging. Anyways, to each his own.
beth00899: Hey guys, so I have been keeping up with this thread for a while and I will be in Lagos from the 21st of December to January 9. What I am looking for is a reliable driver who currently does uber/bolt and is willing to take me around Lagos not going past Ikoyi Or Lekki and be on call 24/7. You will not be with me every day as I will not have an outing everyday. I am a young woman from the U.K residing in Ogudu phase 2. even better if you reside on the mainland and close to ogudu. I will pay for refueling of the car and I am looking to pay 150,000k for the 3 weeks guaranteed, 50 k a week. you will not have to deal with multiple passengers a week and once you drop me off at my friend's house or other places you are free to do whatever you like. The only requirement is you have your own car, you have a valid license, you are a good person and you are willing to have a good (safe) Christmas with me. face mask will be required
I won't be driving it, I wish I can get someone who is faithful. Am looking at informing a pastor from a good church to get me a faithful member, lol. I know toyota 2004 is popularly used, do UBER still accept this? What if I buy the car and hand it over to UBER to manage it, will this reduce the headaches?
DarkwebMaster: You want me to come and clear myself, as you are the chief justice of nairaland or what... Funny enough .. Who wants to patronize still dey patronize, so go hug transformer... Fool
This was your last post on this thread. You failed to address the allegation of scam against, then ran away. This was same thing you did on your threads, you ran away from all your threads when you were busted as scammer only to come here and post this rubbish above post that you dont need to clear yourself.
