September last year, we recently moved there and previously staying at Legacy close to Walden SE. It is a new and beautiful community in Calgary. Has cinemas, drug stores, the biggest YMCA and the New hospital, my wife gave birth in there last year. It has been great.
That's good to hear. Hope you wont mind if I PM you I would like to ask you some questions?

Very Interesting Story. Wish you best of Luck in all. We stay at SETON, opposite Auburn bay. It is good to know Nigerians are close by.
Hello neighbour, how long have you been there and hope you're enjoying it?

This is my long overdue landing gist, landed on the 28th of December and typed it some days after. Several things have happened since then but still, here goes...
Landing gist
The weeks before leaving Nigeria was very hectic cos we had to move out of our house in Abuja to stay at my dad's. We arrived Lagos on the 15th so we can spend xmas with families on both sides and finalise our shopping and packing, so I had to rush everything cos we were going to my parents house in mowe on the 22nd and stay there till xmas. The day after we landed in Lagos my daughter became ill, high fever and purging, she got better after some days only for it to start again the day we got to my parents house. Tried everything and she wasn't getting better and the stress of caring for her and packing for our trip got to me as well, I had a terrible cough that ended with me losing my voice on xmas day. My daughter started getting better on xmas and that was timely cos our flight was on the 27th.
Days before our departure I noticed that one of our boxes weighed 28kg even though it was mostly empty, so I weighed the box on it's own and it was 6kg, I was upset cos this was a day before departure so I decided to use a GMG instead, since it was mostly hair extensions and foodstuff that was in the box. D-day arrived and it was time to leave the house that was when village people struck as we were loading our bags, the GMG started tearing, we decided to manage it since we planned to wrap all our bags. We got to the airport around 10:45 and as we were entering the departure hall, our GMG fell apart!!! Everything in it spilled, my husband had to rush ti go get a new one while everything was on the floor, he got one for 2k and it wasn't even as big as the torn one but we were desperate. We had to repack, after we were done was when the agric guys came, I didnt part with dime. Our bags were weighed and 2 of our 6 bags weighed 30 and 26 but they didnt disturb or ask for anything, my husband was in a very generous mood because he kept dashing all the customs people money and it was paining me. Our flight left some minutes earlier than scheduled and landed early, intact the entire trip was uneventful and fast we landed in Toronto 30mins before our scheduled arrival. My daughter slept through most of the journey, customs and everything was smooth but we were unable to do our SIN because we landed 7am on a Saturday. As we landed in Toronto, our host (my husbands friend) called and told us his wife had gone into labour, we started panicking because we had no idea how it would affect our accommodation with them but everything was resolved as she had the baby not long after we landed in Calgary. We've found an apartment, going to sign the lease today as well as open our bank accounts, get our SIN and sim/ health cards. We are excited to be here and can't wait to discover all that Canada/Calgary has to offer.
We moved into our place at auburn bay on the 1st of January, we bought a car already got a good deal on kijiji. This was very important because the cold these past few weeks has been terrible and walking especially for my little girl has been painful. We've started applying for jobs as well as looking at our options for going back to school. We're ready to take on anything Canada throws at us.

Hi, just do as mumayo said, that with the web form is sufficient. I've gotten my COPR and I'm still getting the "your action is required" message so don't worry about that.
All the best
boco2126:
Congratulations @Pejuhazel on your PPR, l recently got ADR from Accra VO also. Please how did you submit your ADR? Through your account or web form? My account did not have placeholder for the ADR which l got since 4th December. l filled a web form on the 9th of December instead, and it was successful but my account still reads "your action is required" since then. This is getting me really worried. Kindly advice. Thanks.

Thanks a lot for the support. May the land favour us all
ladymarshall:
I just knew I would miss a very important announcement during my absence here. The tears of joy I am shedding right now ehn. I am so so happy for you. Congratulations!!! You did not deserve the long tiring wait but God knows best. His plans are better. The eagle has finally landed and it has ended in praise. Just know that it is not how far or 'fast', it's how well. Delayed PPR processing has no impact on integration and future well being in Canada. You're intelligent, organized and selfless so I have no doubt you would do well in our new country. I wish you all the best in your landing preps.

Thanks, been doing all of that. I have someone on ground to help me inspect apartments that's why I'm asking, found a couple on rentfaster, one the landlord increased the rent by $100 because he'll hold the place till January and I'm yet to hear from the rest. I just want an agent or landlord familiar with new immigrants as I believe it will ease the requirements.
jesusbaby01:
I think you should get an airbnb for starters to get yourself running. Start searching for apartments on Facebook Marketplace and Rentfaster.ca, Change your location to Calgary for better results. Well I got 2 apartments through Rentfaster, I suggested Airbnb so you can see the apartment yourself to know if you like it rather than renting without seeing it. And if you have a trusted person on ground in calgary to check out an apartment for you then you can checkout the option of renting before landing.

I officially welcome myself to this group. Please I have a question, I've been trying to renew my driving licence but I cannot do change of name because there's an issue with their system so its till further notice. I would like to know if I should just get the new one in my maiden name, will I be able to use it in Canada to get a new license in my married name?

My PPR finally landed!!!
I cannot write as much as is expected but I'll try to put every relevant information here. I typed my testimony since April but I abandoned it when I heard nothing.
IELTS:
first attempt Sept 2018 8.5,8,9,6 LSRW
2nd attempt Oct 2018 8.5,8,9,8 LSRW
ECA:
I used WES since it was foreign degree and it was very straightforward, took about 17 days.
ITA: November 15 2018
Police Report: UK and Nigeria, also straightforward.
POF: 60% was gift from my dad so he did a gift deed while the rest came from my husband who wrote a letter that I had unrestricted access to it as I am the PA. We put the money in a fixed deposit and submitted the letter from the bank.
ADR: I got the Accra famous 5 on the 25th of April, submitted on the 27th and was waiting for PPR to drop in 2 weeks cos that was the trend then, well It didn't.
The Wait
This was horrendous and painful especially when people who submitted same time or after I did started landing in Canada. I started following this thread in Part 2, submitted in Part 6 and was hoping and praying that my wait won't be this long but here I am in Part 9 sharing my testimony. So if you're like me and the wait is getting to you, don't be sad it'll come.
Thank you @ladymarshal, @pyruvateluv, @Canadahome and everybody else who has taken time to answer my questions or ask about me. May God bless and answer all your prayers.
After 10 months and 7 days, Accra finally answered.
Timeline:
ITA: Nov 15th
AOR: Dec 31st
ADR: April 25th
PPR: Nov 7th

Please know that AVO is a visa office just like OVO so they'll get a share of the workload. Just because an application is in AVO does not mean it has any fault, my application was sent there as part of workload distribution your notes will let you know why you're in AVO.
johnnybravo1990:
Even if my application will take 2 years, so be it. Whenever it will come, it will come. Use discretion is all I’m saying. Don’t make them get pissed and force them use an iron hand on us. They can get super-pissed and deal with the applicants. They can punitively decide to spot even minute errors and deny many people their applications. We all know no application is perfect, and applications sent to AVO had one fault or the other; that was the reason most of the applications were sent there. When people(AVO personnel) are under pressure, the more you bug them, the more they get crazy and may overreact.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 9 by pejuhazel(f): 5:48pm On Oct 25, 2019
We are not the first group of people to call out AVO, people have done it before now and it has yielded results. Why should my reason for taking an action be bacause I'm comparing myself with someone else, or you feel it's fine for people to keep waiting for as long as 15-18 months or even more and not do anything? Let's see if you keep this same level of energy if you're still waiting this time next year for a decision to be made. Just as I am free to be a part of the Twitter callout, you're also free to do nothing and ignore us. Bye
johnnybravo1990:
I think we should tread with caution. Getting PPR as well as getting it on time is a privilege and not a right. I can understand that as humans, we tend to compare our progress with that of others, but we should know that people have different destinies and futures. Going online to call out AVO on Twitter is not a good idea. CIC and all its visa offices own the yam and the knife; they can decide to cut on the yam any where they deem fit. While AVO applicants wait, please savour the moment and experience. That’s what makes life interesting actually: your unique stories, your ups and downs, the joys and the sadness, the unpredictability and the thrills in it. Let AVO do their job at any speed they are capable of.

It's best you collect what your employer is offering, raise a CSE explaining what you saw and that you are submitting the documents to provide clarity. Don't wait until you're asked cos it might cause further delay, so it's best to be proactive.
You can also mail the documents to CPC Ottawa.
stanzee:
Good day guys, please I have a challenge, I’m 9 months post Aor tomorrow & I ordered 2 Gcms notes, they both came back saying the same thing. There is a review required for one of the work experiences I claimed but my Eligibility is met which is quite confusing. I think the review required is because I was paid by cash. I called my former employers & I was told I can come and collect new reference letters stating I was paid my cash & they can give me my old ID card also to submit. Please can i go ahead and collect them and upload even when I wasn’t asked for an Adr, also will I state I found out through GCMS notes? Please I really need answers. Also, can I also mail the documents to CPC ottawa? Thanks in advance.

Blooit004:
Good morning my good friends. My application has crossed the 6 months timeline. I omitted the address in my bank statement of account in my address history on cic form because it was a temporary address I used just to update the account. I'm worried this may be the cause of my PPR delay. should I raise CSE and explain? though no ADR concerning it. my eligibility was met 2months ago according to Ralph.

I'll appreciate your suggestions dear seniors.
Where's your visa office?
I don't think it's anything to worry about but to give yourself some peace of mind you can go ahead with the CSE to explain.
