teechedah: Good day everyone, Have been following this trend for a while now and i wish to apply for the express entry.Am newly married, 7 years working experience, 32yrs plus,Hnd, Architect. What are my chances and should i apply alone or with my wife? Thanks Use the CRS tool to simulate your scores, for your education you select two or more certificates and for your IELTS you use 8777 for LSRW. If your spouse has a degree you can include it as well as IELTS. A score above 450 gives you a good chance. Also I will advice you include your wife in your application. |

They didn't specify in the ADR Headnotthetail: Bank statements of how many months do they usually request for? |

I don't know but I will be submitting random pay slips Ibelieveinme: Thanks for the prompt response, so meaning the payslips and bank statement will have to be from date of first pay to date of resignation or do i have to randomly submit the monthly payslips |

bouqounmie: Hi, I also had an employment history where i was paid in cash/cheque but no payslips were issued. It was already indicated in my reference letter that i was paid in cash. So when i got the famous 5, i simply wrote a letter of explanation that i was paid in cash and no payslips issued (though i printed bank statements and highlighted some of the cheque deposits, just about 4 months out of 15months experience).
About your second question, you can check what you previously filled by following the instructions in the pictures below. Thanks so much |

joo2018: Since it is stated in your payslip, I think you are ok. On a side note, don't you deposit in your account after receiving in cash?
Hmm. If it is just a few days difference, I don't think it will matter. Thanks, I deposit the money into my account but most times it's never the exact amount, I often put what's left after deducting expenses. |

I just received the 5 ADR's from Accra, my problem now is that my salary was paid in cash and it is stated in my pay slip. What can I do about the request for the bank statement showing salary deposits? Also, I can't remember the exact dates I filled in the personal history section for my past addresses, will this affect our application negatively? |

Blackbuddy: Hi, if the MOU your school will gives you some exemptions towards the CIMA, it's not a bad idea to go ahead.
CIMA does have MoU with CPA Canada so please study the details here and be better informed for the journey ahead, https://www.cpaontario.ca/become-a-cpa/why-cpa/internationally-trained-accountants/cima-mutual-recognition-agreement
As you requested for info directly from CPA, we'd appreciate if you could share the response to guide others. Looking forward to this. Thank you, I'll make sure to share whatever response I get from CPA here. Also, I would appreciate it if you can share any tips and suggestions on how to prepare for job search in Canada. My past experience is as an accountant but I will like to focus on corporate finance going forward so any tips you can share will be greatly appreciated. |

joo2018: Hi,
Planning for Canada basically offers "preparation for life in Canada" services. This consists of the GO and the MAP sessions. The minimum eligibility document is the BIL.
Based on your MAP session, you will be referred to other pre-arrival organizations for work and settlement assistance.
However, most other pre-arrival organizations (especially those getting the bulk of their funding from IRCC) will not accept anything less than PPR. Others will.
PfC/CIIP have discharged their duty to you. Did you inform ACCESS that you were referred from PfC/CIIP?
I was referred to Canada InfoNet. They also had those requirements on their site. I sent a mail before registering that I was referred from PfC/CIIP and had only my BIL. I was asked proceed with my registration.
If it still doesn't work out, just face your MAP till PPR. The work required on the MAP document no be here. I have done only like 5% out of it. I informed ACCESS that I was referred by PFC even copied one of the facilitators in the email. I guess I have no option than to wait, I was just trying to fill this wait period with as much preparation as I can. Thanks for your help and congrats on your PPR |

Ifeoma77: As at the time I registered, AOR letter was enough to give you access to prearrival services. I think they changed that policy sometime last year I guess I'll just have to wait, thanks. |

ladymarshall: I read about this in part 5 or 6 (can't find the link now). Post-AOR folks are no longer qualified for Planning for Canada services. You need to have PPR or Copr to proceed. I recall some post-AOR peeps at that time reporting this same issue and they were replied to wait until PPR before contacting them. I didn't know that, thank you. |

Good morning everyone, please I need information from people who are receiving or have received pre-arrival services. So I signed up for planning for Canada with my biometric letter, after my MAP session I was referred to ACCESS employment and they requested for Copy of Permanent Resident card,Copy of Confirmation of Permanent Residence or Copy of Permanent Resident visa, or A passport request letter that indicates Permanent Resident visa issuance, or A Permanent Resident Visa pick up notification letter. None of which I have as my application is still in progress, I told them and my pre-arrival services have been suspended until I get any of the above mentioned. My question is how were you guys able to proceed with their services before getting your PPR. cc. @Ifeoma77, @joo2018 any one else who can help |

behati: I think you should abort mission if your plan is to obtain CPA using the CIMA. You should check the requirement for obtaining CPA with CIMA designation, or better, send an email to CPA to clarify. Why do you think I shouldn't convert from CIMA? There's a provision for that on their website and already sent an email, still waiting for a response though. |

Hello everyone, please this is for the account and finance people in the house; I am an accountant and I plan to write CIMA soon(my school has an MoU with CIMA, so I'm only going to write the strategic case study exam). I plan to convert to CPA once I'm done. I'm thinking of focusing my career in corporate finance, so I will appreciate any tips landed seniors in the house can offer. Anything that will aid job search and landing a job. My plan is to land in Alberta. @Blackbuddy @czaratwork Thanks |

Mamaroon: Thank you for your post jare!
We want to go to Canada so we can send money back to NGOs... so we can come back later with ideas... some of us may decide never to set foot in NG again and that's ok too...the whole is now a global village....Bill Gates is making more of a difference in the fight against malaria than any African...and he doesn't live on our continent!!!
Did you know US and UK nationals are in the top 10 migrants to Canada list? On one hand you say "whites" aren't selfish like blacks......on the other hand UN should investigate them for behaving like old slave masters....which is it?
Btw: using migration to fill a working population gap from aging is a well established economic theory. No blame game is necessary bit id you insist on one...blame the country that makes it tempting for its talented, educated, middle class youth to leave...don't blame the one that's providing opportunities for them. Thank you jare, its like you took the words out of my mind. If Nigeria is really concerned about its citizens leaving, then Nigeria should do better. Also we are not trees or rocks, when our environment is no longer suitable, it is absolutely ok to move, that is how the human race been developing. |

packaging: Hello Senior Members,
Kindly feel free to comment on this post as it will go a longer way clearing my doubts.
Presently I’m a single guy and a resident in United Arab Emirate and I'll be getting married next month
My questions are: 1. Can I be married and still apply single(without spouse)? 2. She finished from Fed. Poly Auchi, does anyone know the procedure for transcripts? 3. As the principal applicant, will much emphasis be placed on her IELTS performance? 4. If I continue the process alone and it ends positive, what are the chances of bringing her over?
I'll appreciate anyone’s contributions regarding my questions please. Thanks 1) If your spouse will not be moving with you, then you can apply as spouse unaccompanying. 2) I know nothing about this 3) If you writing alone is enough to boost your CRS, then no need for her to write. But if your CRS is low she'll have to write but doesn't have to score as high as you. 4) Applying for her to later join you might be somewhat hectic. So I'll advise that if there's any chance of her changing her mind and deciding to join you, it's best you include her now. All the best |

None of that is necessary. ademo1: Hello house, please I need someone to explain to me how to go about deed of gift. Do I need affidavit? Do I need to notorize the gift deed letter? I also read it on closed part 2 thread that I will have to take the deed of gift letter to court where commissioner of oath will sign and stamp; I then worry that how could that be when the the gift deed is not affidavit. I need someone that have experienced it to give me advice. Thanks |

This speaks to me, I'm just a little three months post AOR and I am super restless. Especially after finding out that VO is Accra, I set a timeline for myself and it's a battle to keep my mind busy and not worry about my application. I guess this a form of lesson for someone as impatient as I am. God help us all but it will pain if I have to pay next term school fees. ladymarshall: Thank you for this. Personally, I keep my mind open for 8 months post submission. If it is less, glory be to God, if it is more, oh well. But it must sha come las las as long as all documents are complete. If you are fortunate to be engaged in other activities you enjoy during the waiting period, fantastic, enjoy it. If not, learn something new (a side skill, another trade, read a new book etc) or spend more relaxed time with family, your boo, and just enjoy life, party hard, eat all our native food, Breathe!!! Because post-PPR until settling, the stress, anxiety ehn and for first-time immigrants, the psychological, cultural shock, chai
Also dear parents, while you are psychologically preparing for your new life, prepare your kids too especially those above 5, read up the additional parenting skills you will need. It will be tough (or easier perhaps) for them to adjust as it is for you.
All the best to us as we keep waiting to tranverse the "road" to the Wild Wild West |

Las Las, she said she will contact the officer in charge to send us another PPR mail. Na Prayer we dey since o while we have tried to send some mails as advised here earlier.
