You that your forefathers started going to school and just knew what education was after 1930s now want to tell people who started going to school in 16 and 17 century their history ?
Are you normal at all?

Advanced Diploma, usually offered by Universities or some professional institution and colleges are equivalent to HND.
WHILE
HNC is equivalent to advance Certificate..
But alot of Nigerians do not know about this.

While those with HND are allowed recently by OBJ government to proceed on NYSC , those with Advanced diploma are not bothered with it..Reason being that,it is mostly seen as an adult class..people above 30yo are more..
Lots of people also see it as Masters equivalent, especially,for professional Masters.
In rating, Advanced Diploma , especially Professional Advanced Diploma rates higher than HND because the requirements to be enrolled into an Advanced Diploma programme include ..
1. Must have a degree or it equivalent,being HND or
2. The above with at least a 10years congent work experience.

HR departments and Government should look into this as regards employment..
Because, usually,you see Bsc or HND .
HR and employers should also understand that Advanced Diplomas are valid academic documents which are very reputable in advanced countries and hugely unnoticed in Nigeria.
The tides has to Change and HR should understand this.

So a friend sent me a job advert on LinkedIn of a firm looking for a Steam experienced 3rd marine engineer to work on an FPSO in Nigeria.

Looking at the pay scale, it was way below what I was expecting and I had to reject it with the below message.

I was reading an article and it just dawned on me that the name of our country, 'Nigeria' and the other country up north,Nïger are actually same words

English=Nigeria
French=Nïger (pronounced neejair)

English=Nigerian
French=Nïgerien(pronounced neejairien)

The difference between Nigeria and her northern neighbour is French and English.
This is serious.

Northern Nigeria and Niger are same.....
Both in religion and tongue,tribe ,fashion and culture....
They marry as much as northern Nigeria but their population is sparse,you then wonder where the northern population come from...
