It is low of you to even imagine all the 1500 civil servants in the clinic fall sick at once, that was why I gave an example with average attendance of 30-50 patients per day. No need for these I too know you trying hard to portray. Like I said, I'm not defending any politician there, I even told you that it'll be shocking to know that it is even the civil servants in that clinic who embezzle most of these funds.

if N1.33b can be allocated for aso villa for 1500 civil servants, how much is allocated to say the federal medical centre that deals with a much higher number of visitors and patients?

In as far as the amount allocated is outrageous, Aso rock clinic like any other government house clinic caters for all the staff working there. And yes there are civil servants working in those places, the security personnel, the clinic medical staff etc are all civil servants and have access to the clinic when the need arises. Also note that consultations, laboratory investigations, drugs etc are all free as far as you have access to those clinics. I'm not defending these politicians embezzling state funds, just want to give an inside on how these works.

Because services in those clinics are rendered free, the money allocated is actually justified IF and only IF it is untilized in all honesty. Just imagine running a clinic for a whole year without collecting a dime from any patient and you have patient load of 30-50 per day. This can give you an idea of the cost. But this is Nigeria, the money is embezzled and those accessing services in the clinics end up getting little to nothing in terms in proper diagnosis and treatment...hence the reason Aisha Buhari once complained of lack of Panadol in the Aso rock clinic.
It might shock you to know that the people embezzling these monies are the civil servants working in those clinics, I mean the top civil servants.

It's the Nigerian system, everything is abused. Telling the patients kinda make the patients abuse the drugs. Treat a patient with a particular drug and the next time he or she feels similar symptoms, straight to the pharmacy to buy same drugs without seeing the doctor. However if the pharmacist play their part very well, they are supposed to insist on Drs prescription before dispensing any drug. It's Nigeria, everyone does what they feel like without consequences, chemists everywhere and people walk in and buy whatever drug they feel like without any regulation, if they tell you the only drugs permitted by law to be sold in chemists you'll realize that all the chemists in Nigeria are supposed to be shut down, but is Nigeria, hence things are the way they are.

Your tone was rude and unprofessional. As someone that has managed people for many years, here are a few tips
Dont slam the door when leaving any employment- rather than send an email with that tone, you could have requested for a meeting amd spoken with the person in charge first before an email.
Secondly, you shouldn't have stopped coming to work , from all indication, you instigated others not to show up. Always secure approval before you absent yourself from work.
Thirdly, you were asked to return company property, you refused saying that unless you are paid. All you should have done was resign professionally and send their ID back.
The court will not support you because o your unprofessional behaviour and unprofessional exit.

Finally you made it clear that there were no clients. This is a new and struggling business. You had the option of opting out when you discovered this or to exercise patience with your boss knowing the condition if things.
The 20k deduction may be for the ID card that you refused to return.

My advice to you and all young professionals is to be humble, learn how to communicate clearly and professionally. Yoh must also learn that the workplace is not uni where aluta continually Victoria asata abi how una dey phrase am.

Nigeria is being exploited by UK,USA and Canada by poaching their best healthcare workers.

They let Nigeria train them(for relatively free) only for them to hire them for peanuts into their own system.

How does the USA,UK and Canada prevent this happening to them ?

They saddle all graduates with huge loans.......give or take 350 thousand dollars.

So that when you graduate, you will be forced to work in the USA, if you desire to pay back that loan.

If you decide to go work somewhere else, you will never be able to pay back that loan.(They devalue the currency of the home country)

If Nigerian government wants to stop this, they need to saddle all those courses that are high brain-drain prone with huge loans.

Give every doctor a 10 million Naira loan, payable only to his tuition and then give them a job where 1 million Naira is forgiven every year or 500k every year. Only award them certificates as doctors after the loans are paid in full or on completion of a mandatory 10 years of working in a government hospital. Salaries have to be competitive and realistic. No doctor should earn less than a senator.

This will deter a lot of health workers from going abroad the next day after graduating.

Some states government are practicing this, though the monthly payments as students is very poor

Please don't give medical fact when you have no idea what you are talking of, HVS has nothing to do with bathing, the sample is collected from inside the vagina not the outside vulva that is cleaned when bathing. Also a virgin can't get a HVS done as the hymen can't allow getting into the vagina, if patient is a virgin, a vulva swab is done. What the lady most likely is reffeirng to is either her coperation with the procedure or level of hygiene down there. I collect HVS samples and trust me it is not one of the best procedures to do because most patient coming for it obviously have an issue down there that is why they are there for the test.

You are the ignorant one, don't mistake HVS for ECS (Endo cervical smear) or even Pap Smear. And on the issue of giving medical fact, please note that I am a Medical Lab Scientist 7 Years post induction, Chemical pathology specialty.
Go and read your book on patient preparation for HVS M.C.S sample collection. You should be sacked for collecting HVS sample after the patient had taken bath and most likely washed down there. Worst is when the patient had taken bath with antiseptic soap or the patient is on antibiotics less than two weeks prior to sample collection. Go and read your book cos obviously na your type weh de collect samples anyhow without preparing the patient adequately and observing eligibility criteria then end up missing important diagnosis.

I went in, undressed, got on the bed and open my legs. So, she came and collected the specimen. This was somehow painful because she had to go very deep. After collecting the specimen, she then went to put it in the instrument that was given to me earlier, then came back immediately and said 'keep it up' with a thumbs up sign from her.

Since then, I've been wondering what she meant by that. Does anyone here have a clue what that could mean?

You obviously went for HVS (High Vaginal Swab) MCS test. The compliment is you probably are a virgin. As for the clean vigina others are thinking, you probably washed clean the vigina before going to the hospital. That alone is enough to disqualify you for the test because the expected organisms might be washed off while taking your bath in the morning. The sample is supposed to be taken early morning and before you take bath for the day.
