You are still not clear and like you said let's be logical and reasonable. You don't know the condition of the patient and the cost of all what they have done in an attempt to revive this patient. If they have carried out investigations like magnetic resonance imaging, computerised tomography, etc or interventions like radiotherapy, chemotherapy, dialysis or using life supporting machine with daily oxygen, neurosurgery, cardiothoracic surgery etc all in an attempt to revive the patient, should they go without settling the bills just because the patient eventually dies? If you know the condition of the patient and you know what they did for her is not worth the billing, it's a different scenario. But, you can't conclude that the billing is not worth it just because the patient eventually dies. Nobody is accusing anyone of negligence here. And if you suspect negligence, you can sue for negligence. Your illustration about a faulty vehicle here does not hold . If I have a car that is draining me, I will sell it or butcher it and sell the parts. You cannot do that to a human relation. You treat and give all you have till death comes. Mind you, people still die in hospitals in UK, US, India, China, Saudi Arabia and all over the world and they still settle the bill.

Don't mind them. Most of them don't know what it means to manage a terminal patient. That money is not even enough for jist CT scan alone in some countries.

Truth is some of our MLscientists aren't really grounded in Molecular diagnosis. It reminds me of when I had a written interview with some MLscientists from UNN for the role of Biomedical Scientist for a Molecular Pathology Lab in Enugu and they couldn’t explain explain the general protocol in DNA and RNA Isolation, and the basic PCR reaction principle. It was surprising to me, honestly.

So if am writing a research on say Head Trauma and I now decide to abbreviate it as HT after initial introduction to the abbreviation in the article, does that make it a standard medical abbreviation like the likes of DM foot ulcers, tropical DM hand syndrome, AIDS, COVID, BD, tds, QD , PCR, DNA, etc?
Type the words 'BH big head' on Google and see if you won't get something where they abbreviated big head as BH, does that mean Big head is the standard abbreviation BH? Or type 'DW dear wife' and see if you won't get a link where your DW was abbreviated to be dear wife..
You typed ' DW diabetic wound' and Google provided something pointing towards what you typed and u are happy asif u don't know how Google works.
I bet you, type just DW and see if you will get a link abreviating it as Diebtic wound . You will search and search before u get one(if any). That shows its not a standard recognised medical abbreviation. But type any of the standard abbreviations I listed above or anyone you know( if u know any) and see if you get a direct recognised meaning to it

If you want to convert to MLS from studying Microbiology or Biochemistry there are schools where you can go do two years specialization courses. There is a Federal College of Veterinary and Medical Laboratory Technology in Vom Plateau State. You can do your associate program in the Chemical Pathology which you are interested in and get your license as a Medical Laboratory Technologist.

Don't mislead him. That was stopped as far back as 2010

Duration of course does not make it supreme or better. For a biochemist to switch to Laboratory work, especially in the area of chemical pathology or biochemistry analysis should require a training or internship for about 6months.

Are medical lab scientists marginalising other non-MLS in the laboratory?
Will a Medical laboratory technician earn the same salary with a medical lab scientists?
Will medical lab scientists allow a medical lab technician or biochemist or microbiologist head the department?
Will the association of medical lab scientists allow a conversion or recognition of other laboratory workers after training?


The bitterness may actually lie in those medical lab scientists that would rather seek equality when it comes to top hospital positions BUT would not want same equality in their departments.
I pity all those that are marginalised that keep contributing money to those heading their organisation to enrich themselves in the name of fighting for top hospital positions.
