psucc: This matter of sack has been overly discussed with even the supposed well trained Ministers ofthe Gospel, taking sides.
Brother, the sacked Pastors are can count their sack as a persecution and so move on. Truth be told, "any branch that bears no fruit shall be cut off" (John 15:1-2).
Please let's die this matter. How many of Jesus’ disciples did He cut off even Judas whom He knew was going to betray him? The problem with you Pentecostals is that you read the Bible in piecemeal instead of reading it in pericope. The danger of this is that most of the times you take some of these Bible passages out of context and fail to get the entire intended message. The passage of the Bible you quoted was talking about how “the branches” must remain in him to be fruitful. Even the particular verse you quoted, you cut it in half. If only you were sincere enough to read a little bit down, Jesus says “And anyone who is not fruitful, he prunes so he can be fruitful”. Stop reading the Bible in piecemeal.

The action goes to demonstrate that what they have is a business enterprise and not a body of God under spiritual direction. |
Christianity Etc › Sack Of Winners Pastors: Can God ‘Uncall’ The ‘Called’? by Penguin2(op): 1:11pm On Jul 25, 2021 |
I left this till today that is Sunday before I ask this question so that we, the body of Christ, can deliberate on it.
Last week, the entire media space was awash with the news of the sack of about 38 pastors by Living Faith Ministries Worldwide aka Winners Chapel.
Those who broke the news claim the pastors were sacked because they were not financially fruitful but Bishop Oyedepo, the General Overseer of the church, in a counter, claimed the pastors were sacked because they were not spiritually fruitful; they were not winning souls.
But does either of the reason justify the sacking of a pastor?
I ask this because before someone is called a pastor, it is supposed that there must have been some calling from God. A voice must have spoken to him. Like some inner prompting must have occurred that made such a person decide to answer the call.
Now, when that person decided he wanted to answer that calling under Winners Chapel, I’m sure some sort of screening occurs for all applicants and the successful candidates are subjected to some period of training.
At the training or during the training, the candidates, I suppose, should be made to understand the word of God better, understand the church’s tradition, philosophy and theology. But most importantly, the calling of the candidates is subjected to test to determine if they were truly called by God or if the voice they heard was that of Satan or the yearning for the material accompaniments that comes with being a pastor.
Now, at the end of the training period, successful candidates, who passed those tests, are consecrated as pastors. At this point, the candidate should now enjoy all the benefits of his office and some security of vocation being that his calling has been vetted.
In the Catholic Church, at the completion of your seminary training, you are ordained ‘a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek’. Nothing you do will ever make you stop being a priest; whether you are not financially fruitful or not winning souls.
Well, that’s the Catholic Church. But isn’t that the template that the training of pastors for organized religious institution like Winners Chapel should take?
Or do you think that God can ‘uncall’ the ‘called’?
Penguin is a bird of reason!

Coronabirus: HISTORY OF NIGERIA LEADERSHIP DISTRIBUTION Some people should rather use their brain to think than to allow others feed them with hatred & lies. Some forces are using ethno-religious diversity of Nigeria to create dangerous accusations & conspiracies which are far from the truth. Those enemies of peace logically use the current predicaments of Nigerian to blame some tribes or religious group for the failure of Nigeria not knowing that all the groups collaborated in gang raping the nation. Those inciting Nigerians along ethno-religious line know very well that some gullible are so dumb enough to accept anything trash feed into their head. Below is the data that calculated the years Nigerians are ruled under religious, ethnic and geographical location considerations. 60 years since independence, Nigeria was ruled by: 11years Obasanjo- Yoruba 9 years Yakubu Gowon-Angas 8 years IBB-Nupe 6 years GEJ-Ijawa 6yrs Nnamdi Azikwe-Igbo 5 years Abacha-Kanuri 7 years Buhari (+2yrs military regime)- Fulani 3 years Shagari-Fulani 2yrs Yaradua-Tuareg 6 months Agunyi-Ironsi-Igbo 2years Murtala, Shonekan & Abdussalam-Fulani, Yoruba & Hausa. If calculated along religious line, it can be seen that Nigeria was ruled under Christians Presidents for atleast 32years while Muslims Presidents ruled for 28 years. When calculated along geographical location, it can be seen that South ruled for almost 24yrs while North rule for almost 36yrs. Yoruba ruled for approximately 12years, Fulani ruled for less than 11yrs, Angas ruled for 9yrs, Igbos ruled for 6yrs, Ijaw had 6yrs, Kanuri had 5yrs, Nupe had 8yrs, Tuareg had 2yrs while Hausa had 1year only. North-Western presided Nigeria for about 17yrs, South-West presided for about 12yrs, North-Central enjoyed approximately 18yrs, South-South presided for 6yrs, South-East had 6yrs while North-East are still struggling to get to the apex position and still not agitating for it. Going by the logical distribution of power along ethnic and religious line it can be seen that accusing only one particular tribe for Nigeria's failure is just a deliberate tactics by desperate power mongers and children of hate to put us into ethno-religious conflicts. Since 1999 to present, two southern presidents used almost 14 years out of the 21 years and yet southerners still complain of Fulani dominance everywhere like babies throwing tantrums. If the two southern president could be foolish enough not to make things right for southerners, how is that the Fulani man’s fault? You say Abacha is Kanuri, yet you say North East hasn’t had a shot the Nigeria’s number one seat. Where are the Kanuris located? |

DanHaske: Maybe Jonathan was a good man, there are however certain things not good about him. 1. He wasn't intelligent. When he speaks, it's uninspiring and does not portray someone who has been to the university. 2. He was ignorant about the country he was presiding over. That's why he was ruled with the "us" and "them" mentality. That was why he saw book haram which started even before he took over as president, as an attempt to distabilize his government. He felt northerners where sympathetic to boko haram, hence fighting BH will offend them, his advisers from the SE also did not help matters. Northerners on the other hand saw his refusal to fight BH as a plan by him to ensure their decimation, so he was hated. This was justified in the statements made after elections by people from the south when election results from Borno were announced, they asked "who have boko haram been killing" 3. Let everyone still. That's the politics in Bayelsa, that's what he brought to Abuja, everyone should steal as they want. And so did they steal. Including the Bauchi governor who was fct minister then, plus his son. And they looted the country into recession. I’m sure each time Buhari speaks, you are usually soaked in inspiration. I’m sure Buhari sounds like a Harvard trained Professor when he speaks. And why hasn’t the north accused Buhari of hating them since he has been treating bandits with kid gloves.
