[quote author=vvvvvvvvvvvvvvv post=52931673]Hello Guys,

I need advise and direction.

Got admission at dalhaouise university.

Am applying next month for study visa.

Online application though

And I want to do upfront medical (will you advise).
Either upfront or you wait for medical call, both are good. It's just that, if you front load medical, it saves the period of just requesting for your medical result and if you don't do upfront, if there will be any rejection, it's likely to come before you're been called for medical which saves you cost of doing medical. The option is yours.
Or I shld apply and wait for me to called for medicals.
And will I be able to submit online without medicals if I don't do upfront medicals.
Sure, you will be able to submit without front-loading medical.

On my Biometric, whe will I be called after applying online?
Usually it's between a week after submission, but no one can be so sure of the exact date.
And the main issue is the payment with out current forex wahala in Nigeria as Access bank won't allow me pay more that 200 cad dollars and the application fee +biometric fee is 225 cad dollars.
Try getting someone that has a US Dom account if not, get someone outside Nigeria to help you pay while you fund the person's naira account with the equivalent naira.
I kmow I have plenty questions to ask and am very open to everyone advise.

Thanks guys..

Why did Nigerian Immigration seize your passport? I thought they normally ''cancelled without prejudice'' when there's no problem.. Maybe something is fishy here.

[[quote author=esosa4real post=52890116]hian @seyewest The dude isn't lying at all and don't mind the immigration officer you asked, they always have double standards. See, what is happening is that of recent, they collect your old passport in some cities. My friend did his in Benin and it was collected but my mum renewed hers in the same Benin and it wasn't collected.

Lets be used now to Nigeria's ways of doing things!

Please as i will like us to forget about this issue, I will like to say that the above bolded statement does not refer to Lady @Faith being dishonest. Nobody has actually said there's any iota of doubt in her statement that her passport was been retrieved back from her. What I think we should get to know is the fact that so long as the old passport contains so much information that Lady faith might still need is (travel history record....) is the reason why it's baffling that the Nigeria immigration will choose to retain the passport. The statement '....something is fishy' might not be directed to @Lady Faith, it might be directed to the Nigeria immigration itself considering so many anomalies and some dishonest activities that so many immigration officers get involve in. Thanks.

Just tell them the truth, explain the bolded to them. Happy for you because they still give you room to explain, what a very nice VO that's treating your app.
jamal411:
Dear Gurus on NL

I just received a letter from CIC saying I should explain why I didn't disclose my previous US visa refusal in 2014. The thing is I actually did mention it to my agent before this application was submitted but I guess he forgot or something! My agent is in Canada and we mostly communicate via email so maybe just to say he missed it somewhere in one of our email correspondences.

Please guys what do you think I should say or do right now? I need to give him feedback asap so he can explain on my behalf.

Thank you in advance for your kind responses. No harsh responses please.

Any one that can help me with this will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks once again my people.

Nailed!
Austinpee4:
Much as I thought @ bold. Undergradute study often time incure huge financial burden and this is so considering number of years of study. If both parents earn the range of income you stated, then one sure way of convincing the VO they can fund your study is to atleast pay a year tuition or even more if they can afford that and also transfer a significant amount of money to an account in your name be it in naira , USD, CAD. Also, their account statements must show they can comfortable earn enough to pay your tuition and upkeep for other years as well as take care of the other 4 dependants comfortably. if they have assets(shares, bond and stocks, lands) or other sources of income, they can add documents to show these as well while elaborating on their financial capacities in the letter(s) of sponsorship.
They have to prove beyong doubt that both you and your family members won't have financial troubles during your study.
Alternatively, if you can get a co-sponsor, Cool! establish a relationship with him/her stating he/she will fend for say your upkeep in addition to all your parents will be funding.
The co-sponsor earnings must be good too.
There is a lot of financial and academic commitment for a 4 year undergraduate degree . Apparently, they want to make sure funds is and will be available while discouraging the slightest idea of working in canada during study or being a liability to their government.
personally, I believe if your parents can pay a year tuition and transfer a good amount of money for one year and with the monthly earning you mentioned reflecting in their account statements, you will be on d edge of an approval. Notwitstanding, the VO discretion will always come to play.
hopefully, you reapplication will come out well. endeavour to convience them with all necessary and required documents.
All the best.

Not compulsory, but might be necessary.

TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by penitential(m): 5:20pm On Jan 16, 2017
Hmmm..., bro try and work on your sponsor account.
Either get another sponsor or your sponsor should transfer the money to your account stating that s/he is commiting it to your study in Canada.
useremm:
Four dependants and I'm not really sure about the inflow and outflow of the account. pls what's the current exchange rate for canadian dollar

Either you get another sponsor, or if your sponsor can transfer the money to your account stating s/he is commiting it to your study in Canada.

Nobody is disputing her claim, just trying to know how questions that might arise in relation to her old passport travel history will be defended.

What she said is true. My mom's expired passport was taken from her at Ikoyi passport office recently. Though she didn't have valid visas in them.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by penitential(m): 5:12pm On Jan 16, 2017
With this closing balance, alot will be considered such as;
Your tuition fee....say like #5,000,000
Ticket, housing, upkeep....obviously the closing balance is way too small. Except you have some funding from the school, then 8.8m naira may fly.
And also, what's the inflow and outflow of the account statement like? How many dependants has your sponsor?
Also what's your own S.O A like?
Work on boosting the S.O.A.
useremm:
8.8m naira
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by penitential(m): 4:31pm On Jan 16, 2017
I strongly agree with what seye is saying, there are situations whereby you will have to attach photocopy of stamped passport to visited countries.
seyewest:
So where's the proof you have been to those places? What if the V.O ask for evidence of travel? I'm not trying to attack you just pointing out the fact that it makes no sense leaving your passport with Nigerian Immigration.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by penitential(m): 3:48pm On Jan 16, 2017
What's the closing balance on your sponsor S.O.A?
useremm:
Yes I got it. That was only part ticked on the refusal letter. the others were left blank

To the bolded, I fear that's not all that's contained in your refusal letter. Did you get your caip file? What was ticked inside your refusal letter insufficient fund?
useremm:
Hi guys I was denied visa in Canada because the VO wasn't convinced I would be able to sustain myself without working as a student. We filled in about 8.8m in account + other assets from my sponsor. I want to reapply against may 2017 any advice would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

Ywc.
Note- nobody can confidently tell you if you will offered admission or not, only the school decides that. Also, master's admission is depended on other factors aside C.G.P.A. just do as earlier advised.

Thanks bro

Ask the school for payment options, most schools have account details where you can send money through flywire, western union global pay....Using Dom account still works and it's faster.
fejeerow:
Hi everyone. Just one quick and urgent questions. For those studying in canada or about to, how do you pay your school fees apart from form A method? Is dormicillary account still possible to send funds to the school, memorial university of newfoundland to be precise. I want to help my brother make his school payment but the form A method is a no go area because you are queued up and iwant a means of payment delivered within a week max

Changing DLi is easy. Infact, you can mail cic for change in DLi after your TRV. I believe you've got your TRV, haven't you? And if you haven't, then it's quite simple.
Wait for your TRV, after your approval, inform cic about the institution changing plan and state the reason. You will be granted.
Also, if you've not gotten TRV, cic may request for new admission letter, the you can CC them (cic) about the school policy of 'no second deferral'.

TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by penitential(m): 7:18am On Jan 16, 2017
I will advise you re-apply to the same Uwindsor.ca.
Using the same docs you used in the first application will still get you another admission letter, the application fee is what they're really interested in as it generates alot for them.
As regard P.O.E, just tell then u couldn't defer the admission for the second time (school policy) so you have to re-apply hence the reason for entering late. (You can print out the school letter sent to your e-mail as regarding that for proof at P.O.E, and if there's need for you to extend your study permit before the end of your program, it won't be an issue owing to the fact that they're already aware at the P.O.E.
Note-if you re-apply to another school, you will have to re-apply for visa. (Change in D.L.I)
Shootdeuce:
Hello House,
I applied for Meng in University of Windsor and I got admission for fall 2016 which i deferred to Winter 2017. the school specifically stated that I could only defer the admission once, my visa came in on Friday which is quite late and I tried to defer again, but they told me I could not defer anymore that I had to reapply.
please what are my options?

if I reapply for another school or the same school, will the new admission letter still get me in at the POE say when I decide to go in Fall 2017 session ?

Also If I don't travel now and I reapply for another school, will I have to reapply for visa too?

Thank you

Hello, even as less competitive as carleton may be, I will still like to tell you that admission into both graduate and undergraduate schools in both Canada and United State of America is not by having a high C.G.P.A alone. They arealso interested in other factors like
1. Extra-mural activities.
2. Previous projects you've handled as relating to your proposed program
3. Awards of excellence (If any)
4. Challenges you've encountered on previous projects and how you overcame them.... And many more.
Remember that you're not the only applicant applying to that school, applications from prospective students from all-over the world are been treated for admission consideration. So after all the academic requirements are met, the above listed factors go a long way as well in giving admission.
Uwaterloo is a school that's very good at that.

TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by penitential(m): 8:21pm On Jan 14, 2017
The only reason is what I've stated earlier in my post.
V.Os do go through submitted docs before sending medical mail.
As you've not been mailed to go for medical and your passport dispatched, i can only mean that your application has been refused. Hence the V.O sees no reason for you doing medical. Just git get your package and let's dissect it together.
You might be 'A man after GOD'S heart' and your TRV might be granted.
But I've never seen anyone granted without medical call.
