Genius000:
@ Penitential, the best we can do is show them love.

Many people lack values and are desperate to get what they don't merit. The society we live in sometimes encourages that.

"You can query that part" but don't query them for coming here for help.

We need to instill the right values and help them.

Many victims of these unfortunate circumstances are usually greedy, impatient, and desperate people.

Unfortunately, that represents a large proportion of the character of Nigerian youths.

We can be the CHANGE!
i quite agree with you, but the point is that it is this same set of people that is making migration more difficult for genuine applicants.
17weeks!!!
Apparently, people with genuine application documents suffers the delay as a result of the bad stigma that this so-called 'greedy, impatient, and desperate' set of people has placed on the integrity of this country.
They've raised the curiosity of the V.O's thereby making them doubt the credibility of every applicants documents. i can't imagine an application taking over 25weeks!. Obviously i won't be surprise if the processing timeline for Nigeria applicants move up above 17weeks because of the actions of this so-called DESPERADOES.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by penitential(m): 11:03am On Feb 10, 2017
On a very serious note now.
Please whoever consulted an agent or an agency whether GVC Or whatsoever agent, should be prepared to bear the risk of whatever consequence(s) the V.O has decided to melt out to him or her.
Something I don't still understand here is; How is it possible that when a prospective applicant wants to apply for TRV, they are usually unaware of this thread, But when they run into CIC hot pot of soup it is then that one angel will open their eyes to this thread to come and derail this thread?
If you as a prospective applicant does not have all the necessary document at present, why not wait till you are able to gather every document needed and submit a very solid application that has integrity rather than visiting an agent that's promising to doctor documents for you when you know the full consequences of doing that?
V.O's aren't fools that they won't be competent enough to detect the same doctored documents submitted by hundreds of different applicants.
Please i think it's high time the note of warning is sounded here that WHEN YOU RUN INTO CIC HOT TROUBLE, PLEASE GO TO YOUR AGENT OR AGENCY AND LAMENT AND LET HIM/HER PROFER SOLUTION TO YOUR PREDICAMENT.

Cc @justwise.
Thanks.

the reasons why Canada visa takes this long is due to our corrupt nature and then they take extra care and time to fish out the bad eggs..
I've sounded this over and over. If only we can change the mentality that the V.O's have had concerning nigerians documents, it will save a whole lot of time. Def the 17week will reduce drastically..
Most embassies may not..... But Canada will!!

PropertiesRe: Who Should Supervise A Building Project; Architects, Builders Or Engineers by penitential(m): 9:14am On Feb 09, 2017
seguntijan:
BUILDERS WILL TAKE THEIR PLACE!!!
someone first asked, what is the difference between a builder and a civil engineer?
I took time to enlightened him; read along with me.
Concerning professionals in construction industry, let me briefly state the roles of relating profession.
we all believe that the major role of an architect is production of building plans; considering some principles, (not to construct or supervise building production.)
Her own is to liaise with the builder on how to bring his dream on the CAD or paper to reality. The builder ensures BUILDABLITY. Mind you, Architectural design is not a graphics design.
For acclaimed civil Engineers, categorically speaking, they have seven branches and that a part of it is the structures.
The role of structural engineer is to design for all structural members such as beams, columns slabs structural steelwork etc., liaise her design with the builder on how visible is the fabrication of all these members and their arrangement to fulfill the aim of his design( under worst loading the structure most not fail).
A building services man designs for mechanical/ electrical services and liaise with builder on the arrangement and fixing ( hmmm... I know you will argue that he can't do that)
The quantity surveyor takes care of the estimations of project.
Now, who understands estimation process the more? structural engineer, architect, others professionals?
The fact remains that, if (Qs) overestimate or price substandard materials or add up what is not suppose to be, it is only a builder that understand the techniques of estimation.
so what's now the work of a builder?
From the aforementioned premises, judge for yourself.
The next question the person asked is ,you mean it is only builders that can do all d work on site, when it comes to structures?
I laughed, and i gave emphatic NO.
According to Nigeria building code, builders are not trained to hijack the work of other professions but due to the vast scope of our profession, we use all the knowledge we gain from all others professions to carry out BUILDING PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT....
That's why a builder can easily detect error and suggest correction to architect design because, whenever he sees design, he does not only view it from the perspective based on architectural mentality alone but reason about the structural stability, estimation in other to be economically safe and comfort of the occupant(s) and maintenance including the aesthetical view.
Hope you are getting along.
The next question ,what is d difference between structural and civil engineer?
To me, to call someone civil engineer is a wrong usage because the word ''civil engineer'' is like a general name that encompasses all construction expertise.
so, ''structural engineer'' is someone who's area of specialisation in civil engineering is mainly in structures.
someone that specialise in highway construction is not a structural engineer which implies he/she should not have any thing to do with structures. Mind you, a structural engineer is not a builder
Friends, construction is in three(3) aspects. The design, fabrication(pro
duction and management) and maintenance.
So, if your interest is more of design, then, architecture or civil engineering is good but if your interest is the actual construction of building (of course, we all want to bring our dreams of building or structure to come true) then, the best choice for you is to call on '' A BUILDER'' which in the profession is the only professional that span across all other professions in construction company industries for effective delivery of a project.
NB.
As regards the incessant building collapse in Nigeria that have been recorded so far, who then are those responsible for such project. Is it not those that form bossy on such project(s) and yet it collapsed?
Hummm... the so called engineers, architects and sometimes Estate surveyors.
Let me enlighten you on this because it shows your little level of knowledge about that.
Majority of the structures that collapses are not to be blamed on the structural engineer. Because it is one thing for a structure to be perfectly designed and it is another thing for the builder on site to actually follow the actual design of the structural engineer.
Let me tell you categorically, that a builder will not be held responsible for any building collapse(because they know nothing about structural stability which is the sole work of a structural engineer).
The builder is just like a messenger to both the architect and the engineer (take to instruction of both parties as regard their design) the builder has no intellectual knowledge to alter the deign of both the architect or the engineer (the builder has little or no idea of how the engineer came about the specifications and designs for such project).
So it will be wrong for anybody to call on the builder to come and explain why a building collapsed. Infact if a builder is called upon to say anything about it, what they will definitely say is 'I only supervised base on the design and instructions that the engineer gave me.
I've seen lots of cases whereby the structural engineer made a design, and the builder on site built something else ( can't interpreted structural drawings thereby building using his own idea) which later caused problem for the engineer when he was called on to come and explain the reason for the collapse.

Mind you, since the builders have been handling projects and structure, BUILDERS have NO record(s) on building that are managed and supervised by a professional builders that have ever collapsed in Nigeria !!! you can Google search to confirm... No not one.(1)
...ALL PROFESSIONS IN BUILT ENVIRONMENT ARE UNIQUE IN THEIR OWN WAYS..
The next question is, who is now suppose to be the project manager of structures?
Be wise, choose by yourself. Let me say a project manager is someone that have knowledge to manage a project. Mind you, project are of different types. Here, We talk about structures, who is suppose to be the project manager?
Be wise, engage professional (builders) for effective delivery.
BUILDERS BUILD RIGHT.

LawFight:
An Architect are to design the proposed building and build, if it is in contract signed between the client and Architect.example is design and build contract. at this stage we will have a residence Architect on the site checking at list once in a week to know the progress of the work. while builder are to build the building itself, and use of technique and providing of workers to the site. and also provide equipment that will be used on the site. Engineers. we have different engineers. we have the cost engineers. this are also called Quantity Surveyors, structural engineer,M&E engineer. this guy provide electrical, mechanical and plumbing drawing to the building. they can come to site to check if there workers are doing things apporiately. that is reason in school
as a student of Architecture offered all the causes in environmental and engineering faculty just to have the idea.
Architect are the leader of the building team. (Architect,Quantity Surveyors, builder, Structural Engineer, services Engineer, project manager and the contractor) sorry for my typing and grammar errors. #IAM ARCHITECT #
To the bolded and quoted; I strongly disagree with you.
Reason is because an architect cannot take all the courses a civil engineer is offering. Infact the course they do take is 'Theory of Structure' which is just part of the elementary courses of a civil/structural Engineer (Structural analysis, Determinate and indeterminate structures, Design of structural elements, advanced structural design, RCC, Steel structural analysis and design.....).
Also note that in schools, Civil engineers are trained to use Autocad as well both for Architectural and structural design. Which is to say to a very reasonable extent, a civil engineer can still produce architectural design of residential buildings (majorly) whereas an architect can neither analyze nor design a structure.
As to who should supervise a building construction, I think the OP has stated it clearly that civil/structural engineers are specifically trained to supervise complex project like bridges, roads, dams....while a structural Engineer or an architect can also supervise general buildings. Thanks.

Good day people, please can someone give me any reason why an uncle who does not bear the same surname with you would decide to sponsor your education please.

We all know say everything na packaging and showcase.
Firstly, everybody has different reason(s) that surrounds been sponsored by a third party. Only you know about yours and not others story.
I will like to add that it is very difficult to convince a Canada V.O the reason why a third party will want to sponsor your education (esp when s/he has dependants). Even without dependants, V.O's does not believe in it (esp Nigerian stories).
Please note that the major reason for the delay in visa application (17 weeks) is attributed to the level of corruption that is associated to Nigeria and nigerians, hence the need to vet every supporting documents seriously.
I wouldn't advise anybody to present a third party as his/her major sponsor regardless of the program he/she maybe going for (PGC/D, Master's, PhD...)
Should anyone want to involve a third party in sponsoring details, it is better and best as a co-sponsor while the P.A's parents act as sponsor or the P.A him or her self.
Remember, you will not be there to explain to the V.O why a third party will want to sponsor your education career, even if you have a very good reason and proof to support your claim. (At times, documents might not convey your message to the V.O just exactly the way you will have present it supposing you're attending an interview)
You stand a better chance (than Canada) of been given F1 visa in United State with a third party as your sponsor cos you will attend the interview and will be able to present your proofs clearly enough to the V.O, and atimes, the V.O can choose to contact your third party sponsor if he/she wants to. unlike Canada V.O's who are ready to deny any application at any slight mistake or at the sight of any un-convincing statement in the P.A's application.
My advice is that if anyone will be sponsored by a third party, persuade the potential sponsor to make some commitments (cash, landed properties. ...) to the applicants possession to atleast convince the V.O alil. Without that, you will be singing 'there's fire on the mountain. ...' in asha's voice to your application. Thanks.
Osemigho:
Is he your guardian? Do you live with him? Has he been sponsoring you before?

What do you two share that make him want to sponsor you?

Nothing is packaging if he agrees to provide statement of account and affidavit. Establish the reasons.
Thanks for your time to respond @penitential.

I have been reading but did not get answer to some point like
what are the necessary documents my sponsor need to provide as UAE residents
1. You will need a good P.O.F preferably S.O.A with good inflow and outflow to show the financial capability of Your sponsor towards his/her commitment to you.
2. You need relationship proof between you and your sponsor. E.g Marriage certificate if he/she is your spouse, Passport data page,....
3. Also a letter or affidavit of sponsorship from your sponsor. ( in some cases).
OR
your sponsor can choose to put in some money into your account (but must be explained) for self sponsor.
Just my opinion for now, you can still visit the previous mentioned thread for proper clarification.

Yes you can!!!
the two are different programs entirely. Applying for express entry shows you're interested in migrating to Canada while studying in Canada does not necessarily mean that.
The only thing i may not be able to say is that you may not be able to apply for two visas at the same time i.e When you get ITA and also you're trying to apply for study permit.

Without following the marriage option, Is it possible to have PR while studying?

Ever heard of Vanier scholarship? If yes, how does it work especially in its "recruiting the best minds" statement. Does winners have to wait till end of study to be "recruited"?

Can someone be doing masters study as well as apply for express entry?
Dear Guru, your professional view is needed here.

I intend to apply for my study permit next month using self sponsor. Presently my SOA is with inflow of 5m and outflow of 2m and my present bal is 3m plus sha.Although, I can boost it up to 9m by that next month ending before applying.

My question is:

After building it up to 9m by next month won't I be questioned on source of fund? Although I am working but my total yearly income is like 2.8m.
And that's why you have your L.O.E to explain to the V.O your other source of income.
Or what can I claim as other source of income.
Would 9m be ok as my school said I should budgeted for 22,000 CAD for a year which includes tuition, accommodation, and the personal exp For a year.
I will advise you do the conversion of the 9m TO CAD and see what it amount to.
Thank you.

Thanks @Austinpee4, if there's anything that drains my energy the most, it's argument! I so detest it to the extent that i will take every possible route to avoid it. Please let me say that the moniker that asked what the difference is between an affidavit of sponsorship and letter of sponsorship, i responded presuming s/he wants to use it for visa application which made me went ahead to say they are both (serve the same purpose) s/he can notarized the letter of of sponsorship knowing fully well the lapses that's contained inside an ordinary letter and the credibility of an affidavit.
Please am not here to argue neither am I here to prove any point. No one know it all hence everyone is subject to correction. Thanks.
Austinpee4:
@Eraytee and Penitential, both of you have a point and the back and forth on affídavit and letter of sponsorship shouldn't generate further argument.
Both serve same purpose but the circumstances of the two are not the same. The both can be as detailed as much as you want it to be. While a letter of sponsorship is addressed to a visa officer or whom it may concern, your facts can be assumed true or not(signature can be forged), an affidavit is a binding document by law and a written statement confirmed by oath or affirmation and can be used as evidence in court and it is punishable if voilated. So one can choose to write what so ever you want in any of the documents(affidavit or letter) but one(affidavit) will be written under an oath and legally binding than a letter. Both will serve same purpose for sponsorship and besides, the embassy doesn't specify that an afidavit MUST be submitted, it only shows you have commited yourself under an oath and law and hence can be used against one under a prevailing law if sponsor doesn't live up to responsibility which makes it sometimes trusted even though we know the weakness of our judiciary system.

TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by penitential(m): 9:04am On Jan 19, 2017
Eraytee:
it not the same bro, if u notorized ur sponsorship letter wch is not necessary cox the letter is addressed to the embassy with d signature of the sponsor at the end of the letter. affidavit of sponsorship on the other hand gives details of the supporting documents your sponsor is giving to support your application. documents like landed properties, photocopy of data page of passport or any internally recognized identification (this is need to confirm the signature on the sponsor's letter), his support to u, your relationship with ur sponsor can also be repeated in this affidavit, summary of annual earnings from ur sponsor from his/her work or rent from properties listed (if applicable) and so many other documents. this is a legal tender that really affirms the sponsors readiness to sponsor you.
Please can you tell me what affidavit of sponsorship and letter of sponsorship is been used for as you've claim they are both not the same?
An affidavit of sponsorship contains the sponsor's name, type of work s/he does, annual earning, and stating other income source. It also shows relationship between the sponsor and the applicant....signed and most times sealed which makes it more official than just ordinary letter. Both affidavit of sponsorship and letter of sponsorship are used for the same purpose (stating sponsor's commitment to the applicant).
