APC NATIONAL CHAIRMAN DARES BUHARI*

Set to Sink APC.


APC National Convention Aspirants Forum has raised alarm over what it described as a ploy by the APC National Chairman, Sen. Adamu Abdullahi to sink the party ahead of the 2023 general election.


The group revealed that the National Chairman flagrantly disregarded the directive given by President Buhari directing the National Chairman to refund the monies paid by aspirants for the purchase of forms and who stepped down for the party's consensus Candidates in the convention.


The spokesman of the group Hon. Terver Aginde, former APC Zonal Leader, North Central reiterated that President Buhari had categorically stated that “Finally all those who have bought forms indicating interest and have been dropped should have their money refunded without delay.”


“It will be a very sad and regrettable development if these manifest gains are frittered away as a result of internal dissent and rivalry. We must avoid narrow focus and inordinate personal ambitions at the expense of our party’s common good. We must stop frivolous and diversionary litigation when the party’s reconciliation processes are available for settling disputes.



“We must restore sanity and purpose in the affairs of our party and lead ourselves to victory and safety.



“As I remarked when I met Your Excellencies on February 22, our aim must be to hand over to an APC government at the centre and the great majority of states. We must not, by default, allow the PDP to get its dirty hands on the Government again and return us to the Stone Age.”


The group regretted that several months after the president gave the directive, the National Chairman of the party has continued to ignore a clear directive of Mr President, thereby giving room for aggrieved aspirants to remain dagger drawn against the Party.



The group further threatened that they will mobilise all party stakeholders against Sen. Adamu to ensure his removal as the national chairman of APC as he is hellbent in seeing that the party is not united and that the party looses the forthcoming Presidential election.

The Senior Special Assistant To The President on Judicial Reform and International Relations and the National Coordinator, Open Government Partnership, Hon. Mrs. Juliet Ibekaku-Nwagwu has cautioned civil and public servants against using thier position of trust for private and personal advantage as such acts amounts to a serious breach of duty.



Hon. Mrs Ibekaku-Nwagwu gave this caution while speaking to a cross section of women and youths who paid her a visit in her residence in Abuja, where she revealed that while the present government is unrelenting in it's fight against corruption, a handful of public servants has become a clog on the wheel of the desire of my president to rid the nation of corruption.




Hon. Mrs Ibekaku-Nwagwu stated thus, "corruption has many forms, but its most insidious form is when it becomes something that people simply think is the norm and when accountability has little meaning,"



"Corruption feeds on a collapse of civic virtue and a corrupt society is one where political and civic virtue is in decline. corruption exists in societies where there is a breakdown of the original values, mores and principles that informed its earlier nation builders,"



"Corruption erodes trust in government and undermines the social contract. This is cause for concern across the globe, but particularly in contexts of fragility and violence, as corruption fuels and perpetuates the inequalities and discontent that lead to fragility, violent extremism, and conflict,"




"Corruption impedes investment, with consequent effects on growth and jobs. Countries capable of confronting corruption use their human and financial resources more efficiently, attract more investment, and grow more rapidly."




*Speaking on the progress made through open government partnership, She stated that building, embedding and deepening institutional mechanisms for fighting corruption is the best guarantee for sustainable progress in this challenging undertaking. By embedding and deepening such mechanisms they become difficult and inconvenient to undo, and provide a real chance of becoming the accepted culture over time.*



She called on Nigerian whistleblowers to expose wrongdoings in all public and private sectors, she further appealed for transparency and civil society participation to ensure that the government lives to it's responsibility of stamping out corruption in Nigeria.

She stated that Nigerian female athletes has proven that Nigerian women are critical stakeholders and valuable asset in the Nigerian project, More Nigerian women has continued to portray the country's image in positive limelight across all fields of human endeavours.


She reinstated that women's involvement in nation-building is not only an inalienable fundamental right, but an inescapable reality for a holistic and comprehensive political, economic and social advancement of Nigeria.



She noted that despite the vulnerable conditions of Nigerian women such as lingering gender inequalities, domestic violence, lack of social protection, among other issues that exacerbate injustice and privation against the womenfolk, yet, some women who have been entrusted with leading roles to manage human and material resources have more often than not, proved that given adequate backing, they can perform creditably.



She therefore called for more support and encouragement to the Nigeria women across all levels of the society while advocating for more capacity building and empowerment of Nigerian women to enable them attain thier full potentials as well as actualise their individual developmental target.




She further appealed for more opportunities to be created for the women across all board, for a gender-balanced government, gender-balanced wealth creation, gender-balanced employment opportunities, gender-balanced media coverage, gender-balanced boardroom, gender-balanced sports activities, amongst others.

The Honourable Minister of finance was quoted to have said that "President Buhari has the right to make his own assessment of situations and act on his prerogative as the financial support was based on a request by the Nigerien Government".

NIGERIAN EMBASSY INAUGURATES THE NIGERIA-BURUNDI BUSINESS COUNCIL (NBBC)



the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Nigeria to the Republic of Burundi His Excellency Elijah Onyeagba PhD, has brought many visible economic and diplomatic initiatives between Nigeria and the Republic of Burundi since he was commissioned as the Head of the Nigerian Mission by His Excellency, the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR),

His first diplomatic breakthrough was the signing of the first ever bilateral agreement between the two nations, the Nigeria-Burundi Joint Commission within his first 100 days in office. It has Educational Cooperation, Political Consultation and Technical Aid Corps among it’s focus points.

The Senior Special Assistant to The Governor of Anambra State on Security Matters, Hon. Chiejina Obieze has assured Ndi Anambra that the State will overcome it's security challenges as the government of His Excellency Prof. Chukwuma Soludo is determined to build a prosperous Homeland for all Anambrarians.


Hon. Obieze made this remarks while speaking to a cross section of community Leaders who visited him in Awka over the weekend.



In his words, He stated thus, *"Anambra bu be anyi, we have no other place to call our home, therefore, we all must be United and committed as the government alone cannot secure the lives and properties of Ndi Anambra without a synergy with the citizens".*

"we are therefore appealing for the support of every community Leader to support the sensitisation of Ndi Anambra on the need to Know thier Neighbours as this will aid the government and security agencies to fish out unscrupulous individuals who do not mean well for the state".
