shotster50:When will Nigerians learn to pay for their services? That is why NEPA/PHCN and water are still diseased in Nigeria today. pay your bills and stop expecting govt to provide them for free. |
Nosa-Henry:So many unbelievers on this site. ![]() |
Double marriage ceremony(traditional and white wedding) that are very expensive. Mainly seen among igbos, ibibios and Efiks. |
Nigeria: Evacuating pregnant mothers and children from their homes because of a festival Giving children away as maids and servants where they are abused Using children as vendors/child labour. Does the Nigerian govt have child labor act? |
Calabar: killing and eating dogs. Is that not against animals rights? Igbo: Ekpe secret cult |
But she just mentions the Tribes, shes heard or seen it fromThank you. |
those oba and chief thing should be abolish. i don't see the point of having them.Be careflu before they behead you because they like to sacrifice young women to the shrine. ![]() |

@Omoge, Are you really in FijiVery brilliant point. |
Benin Monarchy: there has been series of accusations leveled against the Benin Kingdom on how they bury or coronate their Oba with human heads. The Oba till this dead must be buried with his servants and any woman he points must marry him or, |
Polygamy isnt "Nigerian".Why do you like blind arguments. Polygamy is practiced in Nigeria. there is no indication that other cultures we condemn here cannot be seen in South america or asia or even Africa. I'm tired of juve's. |
1)Urinating by the road side especially hausas that squat and do it in every corner of lagos, exposing their weenie to even little cildren. i started seeing that as a little girl and that is sexual harrasment. Also, women that run bars must have restrooms so that the drunkards they produce do not expose themselves on the street because they are urinating in the gutter. The gutter is neither for urinating/defecating nor is it for sniffing in the case on Northerners. 2)Throwing debris out of the car window. That is a very dirty habit we do and teach our children. |
Whats wrong in building house where you want, whether na village or lagosMake your money useful and build a house that you know you'll live in. If you have enough money to build both, fine but not building a house where you stay only 10 nights out of every 365 nights in a year. Bini's do that too. |
Nigeria: 1)Regarding male children as more valuable than female children 2)The belief that any woman 30 years and above is washed off and has little fertile eggs left. 3)Adult males belief that they are more superior to adult females. 4)Polygamy |
But you are a blatant liar! Igbo people contribute money to repatriate their dead people and never on the bereaved's account.I didn't know that but it's still pointless to me. Again, i guess they contribute for you because you contributed for others?. How much do you think it'll cost to fly a corpse from North Carolina to Nigeria? |
Igbo: Okonko festival where human beings are used for sacrifice igbo: new yam festival which may involve human sacrifice Igbo: Building a house in the village when they don't have one in lagos. |
Hausa: Betrothing young girls to suitors by age 2. Hausa: Forcing a 10 yr old girl into marriage and conception thereby giving them fistula. Hausa: Drinking corpse water Hausa:Forcing their women to live perpetually in their basement and can only come out at night so that no other man can have access to them. |
Not only Igbo even Yoruba also.Rarely; It's a dominant ibo culture to fly home a corpse at the expense on the bereaved family members and i think they should do something about that culture. |
Drinking bathwaterYes Circumcising womenYes Tribal marksNot when it's their choice. I am against it when it's done to children but adults can choose to do so like many Americans tattoo themselves. Abomination punishments : Walking naked in front of the whole frigging town ![]() |
culture i'd want to be abolish is the way we treat less privilege ones in our midst. it is all because of juju such and such happened to the person. we should do away with it. example, austic child or MR kid should not be seen as juju caused it.Is this a culture in Nigeria? We take pity on less privileged and pamper them. |
I didnt know Dead people could sense the type of sand they are buried in ohMe too |
lynching petty criminals(jungle justice) should be abolished. capital punishment.I support this one wholeheartedly. |
Yeah; and all the while pissing off the neighbours tooBetter to piss off the neighbors than allow them to go to hell fire. |
I've wondering why our govt turns a blind eye on property owners. It shouldn't be for only luxury homes but for every property like they do it in the US. |
Friday, October 24, 2008 Anambra to impose tax on luxury home owners By Emmanuel Obe, Awka The Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi, has asked tax collectors in the state to go after owners of luxury homes to boost the state's internally generated revenue. The Governor spoke in Awka on Thursday while presenting 10 new vans to the Bureau of Internal Revenue Service. He said there was no reason why the state, with well-endowed residents, would be complaining inability to generate enough revenue to pay for government's services. "I want you to be able to cost those big houses and give them appropriate tax to suit the lives they are living," the governor said. "Owners of luxury cars and people with opulent lifestyles will soon come under the searchlight of the taxman," he said. Obi said the state government could no longer rely on federal allocation to pay for its services and finance its projects. He, therefore, asked the bureau for internal revenue to make sure that it generated N1bn monthly henceforth. He said if Lagos and Rivers states could generate N18bn and N23bn respectively, there was no reason why Anambra should not join in the league of billionaire states. The Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Eze Echesi, said the BIRS would soon be automated in line with modern revenue collection standards. In a similar development, Bauchi State Governor, Alhaji Isa Yuguda said that the era of complete reliance of the state on federally allocated revenues had passed, as his administration had evolved new ways of looking inwards to increase its revenue base. He said that Lagos could boost its IGR from N600m monthly, Cross River, with lower population and commercial activities than Bauchi, could also realise over N2bn. Yuguda said his state generated only about N150m adding that this situation must be reversed. A statement by the Director, Press and Public Relations to the governor, Mr. Maigari Khanna, said Yuguda also warned civil servants who connived with tax payers to defraud the government to change or be dealt with. The governor said that his administration, having inherited an empty treasury, a failed system and decayed infrastructure, was determined to leave a clean balance sheet at the expiration of its tenure. http://odili.net/news/source/2008/oct/24/440.html |
Haus is on my tail again.Northerners should leave me alone abeg. After chopping my tax and natural resource money, they still want to use their dagger on my stomach. ![]() |

Awolowo,Zik,Ahmadu bello,Obasanjo,Buhari,Ekwueme etc were/are also corrupt? |
Taking corpse home(Ibo): is it not a waste of money to fly someone that died in America to his hometown in iboland? the financial burden on the family of the deceased is too much and i don't know why ibos have not reconsidered that culture in this millenium. |
Oro festival(Ondo): Human beings are beheaded and used to power that festival . It is barbaric and evil so, should be abolished in this century. Nigeria: many Nigerians are very arrogant and aggressive. They have I-am-better-or-smarter-than-you- attitude anywhere they go. It is one of the reasons why they are hated so much by many black people around the world. It's not possible to abolish this culture but i think we as nigerians can do something about our demeaning attitude towards others because it is annoying. |
Can you name and describe some evil and dirty cultures found in any Nigerian tribe or Nigeria as a whole past and present that was evil or should be abolished if it is still in existence? |
@PepERSprAY,Are you calling every single staff of the Nigerian immigration service a slowpoke for endorsing this report? |
not arguing with you, the question is if public money would be used for thisInternet is very important for education today but we need books, chairs, classrooms, roads, electricity more than internet. If you need internet badly, pay for it. |
