nairalanda1:@ your last paragraph. It's nigh impossible for a coup happen in Nigeria cos of the split in command structure of the military. Any coup plan would have leaked before the planning reach anywhere. |
Ogene001:It's already known that the Igbos can cheer themselves to destruction due to hubris. Keep cheering Niger to annihilation. |
Ogene001:OK o. 😂 |

Cromagnon:Nigeria has an over 1500km border. The farthest two States in Nigeria (Bayelsa to Borno) is just 1000km. I'm sure you can guess when I'm going with this. |

One thing OBJ did that benefits us today is splitting our military command structure so that it's almost impossible for a coup to be planned and executed in Nigeria without news of it spilling out before hand.. That said, the clamor by some political actors for military takeovers, is just another attempt to gain political power on the back of someone else's effort, instead of doing the work of politics themselves.. Buhari could've tried to lead the North out of Nigeria after losing 3 elections, the last one being so badly rigged that the winner, Umar Musa Yaradua, all but admitted it... Tinubu could've done the same with Lagos and most of the SW, instead of slug it out with PDP from a position of weakness.. Today we have riff-raff nonentities like Igboho and Ekpa trying to drive to power using the lives of young foolish people as fuel.. 90% of civil society actors operating in the political advocacy space seem to have no work besides stirring up internal destabilisation, especially in the states where we have a semblance of good governance.. They camp in Lagos and Kaduna, opposing everything the governors there do, but unlook Abia, Oyo, Rivers, Taraba, Benue and all the states that are either failed, failing or run like autocracies.. Useful idiots playing their part to scatter our nation, with the daft notion that the pieces will be rearranged in a way that favors them... They could look to Libya, or Yemen to realise that the pieces of scattered nations, never come back together.. ENDSARS people abandoned the hard work of building a political movement to take the momentum of their protests and channel it in the only legitimate direction of obtaining power... They instead chose the easy route of insurrection, thinking they could chase away over 1000 elected officials with hashtags and emojis. Once more relying on some outside savior like JackTwitter to 'help' them gain power.. The lack of responsibility and awareness will never cease to amaze. The latest savior is the military.. Grown men hoping that a few, misguided, corrupt soldiers will somehow lead Africa out of our shrunken, shrivelled state and into greatness.. It would be surprising if the same thing had not been attempted just a few months ago with Peetobi.. The truth is that good things take time and effort.. You cannot throw 10 blocks and 2 bags of cement into the air and hope they build themselves into a mansion as they fall down.. You need architects and builders for that, not soldiers or failed politicians promising you heaven when all they've ever built is hell. Life can be cruel sometimes... She will watch you grow old and die in frustration if you refuse to apply wisdom in your dealings with her.. If by some magic our democracy is toppled by soldiers, very few politcians operating today will lose their jobs, relevance or access... 3 or 4 big names will be dealt with ceremoniously to fool you, but Nigeria is too big for 40 soldiers to run without help.. Politicians will politick and you will be left in the cold, again, except this time the constitution will be suspended along with your fundamental human rights... My advise... Go and register a company... Go in your hundreds of thousands if not millions. Apply for these loans.. Seek advice.. Set up businesses.. GROW.. Become financially independent individuals first, then pool your new power together to build political movements, either parties or pressure groups. Use your combined resources to sponsor candidates who you direct to build a sample of the Nigeria of your dreams, using an LGA or 2 as test cases.. Demonstrate this superior governance ability that you claim to possess.. If it works you will win over converts, and your new ideology will turn into a true political movement, based on productivity and a promise of a better life, not on anger, depression, negativity and threats of violence and death.. This is the only real way to gain lasting power... Anything else is a lie. Good morning. |
Today is Sunday. Let me take this moment to preach. “Moses raised another objection to GOD: “Master, please, I don't talk well. I've never been good with words, neither before nor after you spoke to me. I stutter and stammer.” if you back track on Exodus Chapter 4: You will see all his objections . God gave him Aaron to speak on his behalf (Leadership isn’t about eloquence else God would have chosen Aaron above Moses) . Moses didn’t grow up in the midst of Israelites, by virtue of how he was raised,he was more an Egyptian than an Israelite (God still chose him) Despite all he did in trying to save the Israelites they fought him and grumbled against his leadership (Moses didn’t need liberation from the shackles of the Egyptians ,he was raised by the King ,but turned against those who raised him to save his people) With this background in mind. Let me delve into what I am getting at : What else does PBAT want in this life? Money? Power? Respect? He has it all! What does he want then? PBAT like Moses feels the pain of the shackles of under-development Nigeria is embroiled in . Despite its richness in Human and Mineral resources,we keep going round in circles , because of a lack of direction and leadership that was mostly selfish or bereft of ideas. As Governor when the FG was pouring billions into the Atlantic to refill it ,he was offered shares in it to look away, instead he went all out to find a solution to the BarBeach problem, creating a Multibillion Dollar Estate out of something most people believed was Mammy Water fighting back. What am I saying? Nigeria has long before now suffered from a lack of visionary leadership. PBAT is that visionary and courageous leader ,who posses the right knowledge to set us free from the invisible shackles that hold us down as a Nation. Trekking through the desert wasn’t easy on the Israelites ? (Removal of fuel subsidy isn’t easy on Nigerians) Those who left Egypt didn’t make it to the promise land because they kept grumbling forgetting that only God raises leaders. Let us for a Moment cast our minds back at the Elections. But for God ,could he have won? What was left in the campaign of calumny that wasn’t flung at him ? What was left in being betrayed by close associates that he didn’t witness? What was left in religious weaponry, that wasn’t used to fight him? What was left in turning the people against him (“cashless policy, fuel scarcity)? People recording videos even asking their gods to kill him” People wishing him death.. If the mortals that gathered to pray against him had the power of life and death in their hands ,they would have killed him a million times over. He withstood ALL THE RIGORS of the campaign and calumny attached to emerge victorious, most of all HIT THE GROUND RUNNING. You may not know it but PBAT and this presidency is God’s project ,like Moses he was raised for such a time as this. God doesn’t call the qualified, as most Christians believe ,he QUALIFIES THE CALLED. PBAT has been called,he has risen to the challenge, the least we can do is pray for him ,pray for Nigeria and pray for yourself. May we not be one of those who will perish in the wilderness, may we see the promise land that God has raised the Nigerian Moses PBAT for. As you go to church this morning, please ruminate on this thoughts and remind yourself not to be a clog in the wheel of God’s project, regardless of who you are or what you represent, minced meat is always made of ,ANYONE who rises against God’s project. The walk out of the wilderness has begun , it may be tough, but we endure, not just for ourselves, but for our unborn children. Have a good time in Church and say a word of prayer for our dear Nation Nigeria and our courageous President PBAT May me all witness and experience the Nigeria of our Dreams. Happy Sunday y'all |

CodeTemplar:Business is business. You can't use emotions to run business.. |
CodeTemplar:You used N9.9 million to buy 50k litres in your truck when fuel was N198. Now fuel is 500. N500 will buy you only 19800 litres of fuel.. So where will you see the remaining money to refill your stock? Will you borrow? |
Does that Gov even know what he's saying? |

There's nothing wrong with importation. What you should be concerned about is whether you're a net importer or not. I stand on my ground. There's nothing wrong with importation of PMS as long as FG doesn't subsidize it. |
Dotherightthing:Exactly |
N3TRAL:Same way oil revenue in GEJ's time was way more than Buhari.. FAAC to State during GEJ was way more than PMB yet at the end 23 States were broke to pay salaries that PMB had to give them bail out funds. PDP Govt is a curse. |

The reason the Govt will still allow importation even with Dangote and other refineries is to prevent monopoly.. Not everyone can build a refinery, so Govt want as many people as there can to be in the oil business.. You talk about modular refineries.. Go and read about modular refineries. They don't make much gains. There are barrels of oil that a modular refineries must refine a day to even break even let alone make profits. That's why not everyone would venture into it even though the license is free.. So Government would give license to PMS importers at a non subsidized rate.. Even NNPC and Dangote will import fuel (everyone at the same rate). It's now left for you to find imported fuel at cheap price so you can sell. Cos if yours is too expensive, no one will buy from you.. As long as there's no subsidy I don't see anything wrong with importing fuel.. Also, the only addition cost of importation over local refining is storage cost shipping cost, which is even less than N50 per litre. So don't you even think that imported fuel is very much expensive than locally refined fuel... I suggest you watch Mele Kyari's interview with asleep. |
Standing5:Not even America has successfully stopped human trafficking, drugs, weapons, food and money snuggling.. Last year alone US siezed over $20 billion worth of drugs that successfully entered the country.. In 2021, more than 2 million immigrants entered America.. So what's your point? |
obi58:Haven't you been hearing the news since last year that Dangote would be buying in Naira and even selling refined fuel to outside countries in naira? What I'm saying is that whether Dangote buys oil in naira, dollar or shillings, fuel will not get cheap. Dangote has bills to pay. He has workers to pay and has a refinery to maintain. According to Mele Kyari, license will be given to more people to import fuel (not at a subsidized rate). Everyone including Dangote, NNPC and other importers will be given a level playing ground to import PMS and no one (not even NNPC) will have more than 30% stake in the market.. It's now free for all.. Perhaps with more supply and competition and if oil price comes down, PMS will reduce.. But anything subsidy or palliative is a no no for me. FG cannot remove subsidy from oil and transfer to subsidy to transport or any other thing (that's not education, health and infrastructures), else it will be the same thing as transfer of subsidy.. Also, gas price as reduced by about 50%, diesel has reduced by about 68%.. |
obi58:You're still emotional about it. Currently, brent oil is $75 per barrel (that's about N46k), so how much should FG sell crude to Dangote or any other local refinery? Guy, other poor African nations are selling fuel over N600 and they've not died. Nigerians won't die. Diesel has reduced from 800 to about 550, Gas has reduced from 13k to 6950.. That in a way is cushioning the effect of fuel subsidy removal.. Era of cheap fuel is dead in Nigeria and nothing will resurrect it. |
