Atiku miscalculated by betraying Obasanjo in 2003.

He again miscalculated by not supporting Jonathan's reelection in 2015 and pitching his tent with the opposition. If he had stayed and helped Jonathan get reelected, he would have been in his second presidential term by now.

He wasn't destined to be President. If he hadn't betrayed Obj, he would have succeeded him. If he supported GEJ, he would have succeeded him. If Obi had not betrayed him, he would have succeeded Buhari.

If you followed closely the intrigues that informed the last presidential election, you'll realize that there are certain forces that came to play in the tussle of power of our great nation Nigeria.

One of the forces was the emergence of the third force which impulsive attempt to exploit the internal grievances of the failure of the incumbency to clinch the presidency. This third force, in the person of Peter Obi and the Obidient movement, explored all kinds of ethnic, religious, and social sentiments to to perpetuate their ambition, albeit the struggle between the two main forces— Atiku and Tinubu.

The person that got the worst part of this bargain, sadly, is the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar. Ostensibly his last dance in bid for presidency, Atiku suffered a huge blow of loss not from the incumbency, but from the internal wrangling of his supposed contemporaries, particularly Peter Obi of the Labour Party.

Peter Obi became the Iago of Atiku's Othello, a reminiscent of the typical Shakespearean tragedy.

In simpler terms, like Brutus in the classical Julio Cesar, Obi stabbed Atiku in the back while he watched him bleed out in his attempt to become the president.

No amount of rhetoric and political verbiage can change this glaring fact. Not Tinubu, Buhari, INEC, Chicago state or Supreme Court that IS responsible for Atiku's defeat at the poll. All these other excuses are simply a consoling blanket to placate the grief of bereaved. I hope that blanket comes off as time goes by. But the blanket isn't the truth. We all know the truth.

Atiku's loss is painful, unfortunate and was never meant to be. However, it's politics and it's what it is. It's a typical Hope Deferred story. Nothing will SC or Chicago or anybody do to change that fact.

Moral of the story: Be careful who you choose as your friend because for every Cesar there's a Brutus. For every Othello, there's a Iago. And for every Atiku, there's a Peter Obi and the Obidient movement.

Nigeria as a country is earning more from crude oil now, which means we have the fiscal breathing space to subside fuel partially.

It's not everything you see you criticize.

We can't go back to those days whereby the budget for subsidy surpassed that of health and education put together.

All these media manipulations can't stop the law of demands and supply.

If you want more, be ready to pay more.

Most of them you see there can hardly read fluently except a handful of them (I have watched them read out tasks and struggling with words here and there) - When you juxtapose that with the generality of the citizens one begins to wonder what’s really going on.

A group of Igbo soldiers who grew worried with Akintola’s new friendship with Ahmadu Belo as both regions formed a new NNA party with agreements of rotation of power between North and west claimed the reason for the coup was out of sympathy for Awolowo. Used this to deceive Ademoyega who was pressured to bring in another Yoruba man, Captain Ganiyu Adeleke. They needed combat soldiers under the command of Adeleke.

They packaged a trojan horse named Chinedu Rhodes Vivor to politically capture Lagos for sons of Zik. They fabricated a Yoruba contender called Abiola in Anambra and used that as an excuse to front their kinsmen for office in Yorubaland. This was the point where many hardcore nationalists stepped back and took notice.

An ignorant Yoruba citizen who thinks he is one with a son of Zik has fallen victim of trauma bonding. The nonsense talks that ethnic consciousness does not change the price of fuel and bread is a dangerous rhetoric. The most important legacy for anyone of Yoruba ancestry is for Yorubaland to remain in the control of Yoruba people.
