You aren't being fair to Nigeria's ethnic diversity and this is how majority of Nigerians at the political class think and reason Nigeria will continue to dangle till it collapses against its own multiple issues
How am I being unfair?
Giving someone just one shot for Presidency in his whole life looks fair to you?

You people own is to talk like senseless persons.
Nigeria selling 3mbpd at $100 per barrel will have to sell crude for 365 days to make just $109.5bn.

Let's even assume the other source of the funding you mentioned generates another $109.5bn. That's $219bn.

Does this make sense to you?

The idea of benovelence is all resources belong to one man. Would a man steal from himself. The King of England & Saudi Arabia and Dubai are shinning examples.
It can work for countries like Saudi and England that most of their people are kinda homogeneous.
Can't work in a multi ethnic country like Nigeria.

No tribe would want a Hausa or Igbo or Benin man to rule for 40 years.

Then Nigeria must make it constitutional to rotate the President among the 6 geopolitical zones that make up Nigeria, and make it a single tenure of 6 years.
That's rubbish. 6 years isn't enough to do anything tangible.

And the fact that if a person at 35 years try it be President and didn't make it, he'd have to wait for 36 years before he can try again is also rubbish. He'd be 71 before he can try again.

The current 4 years tenure with a max if 8 years is OK.
If any constitution should be there if should be a 8 years North and 8 years South.

This their cries and wails na till 2031 and beyond.

The lack of responsibility and awareness will never cease to amaze.

The latest savior is the military..
Grown men hoping that a few, misguided, corrupt soldiers will somehow lead Africa out of our shrunken, shrivelled state and into greatness..
It would be surprising if the same thing had not been attempted just a few months ago with Peetobi..

The truth is that good things take time and effort.. You cannot throw 10 blocks and 2 bags of cement into the air and hope they build themselves into a mansion as they fall down.. You need architects and builders for that, not soldiers or failed politicians promising you heaven when all they've ever built is hell.

Life can be cruel sometimes... She will watch you grow old and die in frustration if you refuse to apply wisdom in your dealings with her..

If by some magic our democracy is toppled by soldiers, very few politcians operating today will lose their jobs, relevance or access... 3 or 4 big names will be dealt with ceremoniously to fool you, but Nigeria is too big for 40 soldiers to run without help.. Politicians will politick and you will be left in the cold, again, except this time the constitution will be suspended along with your fundamental human rights...

My advise... Go and register a company... Go in your hundreds of thousands if not millions.
Apply for these loans.. Seek advice.. Set up businesses.. GROW.. Become financially independent individuals first, then pool your new power together to build political movements, either parties or pressure groups. Use your combined resources to sponsor candidates who you direct to build a sample of the Nigeria of your dreams, using an LGA or 2 as test cases.. Demonstrate this superior governance ability that you claim to possess.. If it works you will win over converts, and your new ideology will turn into a true political movement, based on productivity and a promise of a better life, not on anger, depression, negativity and threats of violence and death..

This is the only real way to gain lasting power... Anything else is a lie.

End

Democracy is for advanced countries that have built strong institutions that are bigger than the president and Governors and legislators.

Democracy is for countries that have at least 70% educated citizens, who will be rational in making decisions when casting their votes.

Democracy is not for African countries made up of multi ethnicities, unless they will make it constitutional to rotate their Presidency amongst the major tribes that makeup the country.
The fact that Nigeria is a multi ethnic State is the reason why dictatorship cannot work.
No ethnic group will want someone from another ethnic group to have absolute power over them.

Right! But trust me, you don't want it. First, the economy will do great but the people won't be able to enjoy it as there's nothing like freedom. They'll ban a lot of things including clubing, some kind of music, some kind of dressing, some kind of lifestyle, the media will be controlled, protest under any condition will be impossible, you can't japa as you're japaing now no matter your situations as there would be very strict border and travel rules, etc. during the military rule in Nigeria, some people were taken to a corner and shot dead simply because they walked past a soldier without greeting him. Women were raped at will by soldiers. The economy prospered under Abacha but we all suffered and suffocated under the military as freedom of ordinary movement was not present. We all lived in fear despite having a solid economy. We all cried that military rule should end and let democracy come. Ormo, the kind of freedom we have now to both do business, prosper, and even worship, is the best and that's exactly what we need. Once you take away that freedom, guy, na slave you be o. Na women go suffer most as rape will be flying about like flees and no one will be punished for it. There will be nothing like freedom fighters or human right agitation as the leader will be executed like Ken Saro Wiwa and nothing will happen. Ken's agitation was not even against Nigeria but against Shell but Abacha made it personal. That's how dictators respond to protests that threatens his pocket. Don't pray for it, my guy.
You guys should stop this lie that the economy prospered during Abacha. The only thing he did was being able to maintain the naira at N22 to a dollar in his regime. Nothing else.
For the 3 years he was in office, he couldn't complete the remaining 5% of Ajaokuta.
Kerosene and fuel were scared. It was then that Abacha stove come to Nigeria cos there was no kerosene to cook. People were using sawdust.

Twas under Abacha that the decline of DSC started and it completely died a year after Abacha's exist.

Federal government is yet to build and maintain most seaport in Nigeria after the military.

Federal government is unable to secure the creeks after the military.

It's been 22 years, there absolutely nothing to show for democracy, development wise. Before democracy, Nigeria had 6 fully functioning ports and 3 working refineries, Democracy came and they messed it up.

It's not working
You are talking as if it's not still under the military that the 3 "working" refinery died.
You're talking as if it's not under the military that Ajaokuta and DSC died.

You're talking as if the biggest kleptomaniac in Nigeria isn't a military man.

PoliticsRe: How Realistic Are Tinubu's Manifesto In Light Of Present Realities? by Perfectbeing(m): 7:54am On Aug 16, 2023
Racoon:
A copy and paste but unfeasible plagiarised version of MKO Abiola's hope 1993 manifesto not in tandem with the economic realities in a 21st century world.

Tinubu was highly whitewashed and overhyped during the campaigns as a strategic policy and human resources manager during his governorship days which were all a facade and charade. Hence his managers shielded him from public scrutiny via live debate and interviews sessions. His woeful outing @ Chatham House was a pointer but some gullible citizens fell for his political gimmick.

This is because, like Buhari, Tinubu turned out not only to be a grave disaster given the events of his last 3 months in his contentious occupation of the office, but an extrapolation of the APC cluelessness, ineptitude, and incompetency inherent in Buhari.

Imagine Abubakar Bagudu, Nyesom Wike, Nasir El-Rufai, Matawalle, as his so called ministerial nominees? Infact, these failures are still be shuffled like a pack of cards after more than 20 years of emilokan mentality
I thought you guys said he copied his manifesto from Obi. How come you're saying now that he copied it from MKO?🤡

Stop the lies. Before the Igbos left to the SE for their project Biafra, most of them withdrew all the money in the bank and left to exchange for Boards currency. So should they give them another money again after the war?

Also, during the war, lots of banks were destroyed, with their records along with them. It's Igbos that had money in bank then but could not prove how much they had that were given £20 irrespective of if it was more or less.
There were lots of Igbos that received all the money they had in the bank when they came with proof.

PoliticsRe: Obi: Failure To Electronically Transmit Results Nullifies Presidential Election by Perfectbeing(m): 9:32am On Aug 12, 2023
SmartPolician:
Oga, this is FALSE.

People who live in Abuja are enlightened. It's not like Ogun where Tinubu will come and scream Yoruba Lokan.

Also, FCT has more security than anywhere in Nigeria, meaning that thugs won't be allowed to run away with ballot boxes like it played out in many places around Lagos. In fact, in my polling unit, the bale asked people to stop voting and fight broke out. That was how guber election ended - fight, disarray, violence and bloodshed.

Besides, foreign election observers always throng Abuja, meaning that elections in Abuja will always remain peaceful, fair and credible because for obvious reasons, the Nigerian government will do anything to look good in the eyes of foreigners.

So, you are totally wrong. What can only work in Abuja is engaging enlightened minds and getting them to vote for your party, not violence.
Trust me, you won't be saying this if Obi or whoever you support got 25% in 29 States, got popular votes and failed to get 25% in Abuja.
What you just said will be nonsense in your ear then.

NaijaCowFarm:
Believe army generals at your own perils. here is a story of interest about Major Daniel Idowu Bamidele of blessed memory:

"In October 1983, Major Daniel Idowu Bamidele heard of coup rumours against President Shehu Shagari and promptly reported to his General Officer Commanding (GOC), Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (who, unknown to Bamidele at that time, was in the thick of the plot).
A week later, Bamidele found himself on a plane to Lagos, detained by the Directorate of Military Intelligence at Tego Barracks and was accused of plotting a coup against Shagari.
Fake witnesses were paraded and a mock interrogation contrived, while reports were being made to the Nigerian Security Organisation (then under Umaru Shinkafi) to mislead the Shagari regime.
Meanwhile, the real plot continued underground with the full involvement of the same Military Intelligence group that was interrogating him. Finally, on November 25, 1983, with no credible witness to nail him, and no legal basis to charge him for a one-man conspiracy, Bamidele was released. He returned to Jos, befuddled about what had actually transpired, until on January 1, 1984, his own GOC, Buhari, to whom he had reported the plot, emerged as the new Head of State!

Learning from his ordeal in 1983, Bamidele had kept quiet about any coups. However, in 1985, the Major was arrested (for failing to report the alleged Vatsa coup conspiracy), tried by a special military tribunal, and executed by firing squad on March 5, 1986, along with others such as Major-General Mamman Vatsa.

Bamidele's words to the tribunal were:
"I heard of the 1983 coup planning, told my GOC General Buhari who detained me for two weeks in Lagos. Instead of a pat on the back, I received a stab. How then do you expect me to report this one? This is not self-adulation but a sincere summary of the qualities inherent in me. It is an irony of fate that the president of the tribunal who, in 1964, felt that I was good enough to take training in the UK is now saddled with the duty of showing me the exit from the force and the world." -
